_Rumble theory_ . These people are the greatest minds of our generation.
Agreed
Second comment on this amazing post
Rumbology: the study of rumble
yea
ye , because they're not just trying to predict the trajectory of a ball in vaccum , there's actually some complexity to it, that;s what makes it fun.
I want to major in “Rumble Theory.”
Wanna 1v1?
@@heavyhittersirl tf
@@neutroI what? they want to learn Rumble Theory, why waste time? 😆 do you have a better idea?
@@neutroI it's called an exhibition match, wgere we can 1v1 in Rumble. Did you NOT know this?
@@heavyhittersirl bruh
Never knew I wanted RLCS rumble until now. Seriously these guys are nuts, would love to give them a stage.
There was that one Rumble tourney Sunless participated in recently - got streamed on the official channel - but a full-on competitive Rumble does sound neat. Tactical Rumble would prob be better for it, though.
Also hoops too, would be really cool
@@nrgnnvn6109 Agreed. I don't play hoops because the learning curve is steep, but that just makes it more enjoyable to watch pros play.
I think itd be fun to do a wildcard spot and have the lowest two teams compete for it and do a 3 game series where they choose from the extra modes. Im best at rumble/drop, okay at hoops, and trash at hockey
The amount of passion that those people put into this gamemode... the statistics, the strats, the diagrams... basically all information you will ever need in this gamemode, is actually insane.
As a tournament Scrabble player it really resonated with me when they mentioned that everyone thinks it's mostly luck, it's the same for us Scrabble players!
I’m d one it sucks
Thanks a ton for having us on Sunless! Nothing gets me more excited than ranting about Rumble theory lol. It was a blast making this video with you :)
I was kinda shocked to see the actual depth behind the game mode, didnt think anyone would analyze it the same way pros do it on regular RL. I have about 1.3k hours into RL and never gave rumble a second thought, but you guys being so passionate about it made me want to play some more.
Y'all are seriously kings for doing that much analysis. Reminds me of the EliteistJerks folks in WoW that would reverse engineer all the equations for stats and abilities.
Pretty sure you guys know more about how Rumble works than most of the devs, maybe all of them. And that's coming from a software engineer.
@@Mm-dn5gc Yep, and I love sharing the depth and analyses with people. Seeing responses like yours, where they say they are motivated to rethink Rumble or play it more, just makes my day. And I could not be more surprised at just how overwhelmingly positive the response has been. So, shoutout to the community, y'all are cracked!
You and speedy are awesome man you’ve completely changed my and many others’ perspective on rumble! Keep doing what you’re doing!
@@randxalthor I played with EJ in mal'ganis when wow launched. Those guys were dope. Was surprised that they were known outside of our server lol.

@@harrysplodgenodge6243 thanks
I get the reference
It's always crazy to me when I see someone dedicate this much time and effort to one of the extra modes as opposed to the main game mode. Especially cause they're usually really good even in the main game mode. Like someone who's top 100 and has the amount of time and dedication that these guys do could potentially become pro players. But they choose to dedicate that time and effort to a different game mode where there is no pro scene instead, so that really just goes to show how passionate they are about rumble. Big respect to these guys though, they definitely changed my mind about rumble and how much luck is involved.
The luck kinda' cancels itself out - What you get can usually be used somewhere and you just gotta' find the right time for it
@@DJEevee257 not to mention EVERYTHING has multiple counters
Games without luck can be very boring. In rlcs, all of the luck (except demo respawns I guess) is created by marginal player error, essentially the players creating the randomness.
In rumble, the added randomness increases the excitement of the game a lot and makes playing around probabilities important. Sometimes, rng can be damaging to a game, but in rumble everything has counterplay which balances it very well
Sunless and these two guys vs. Leth, Arsenal, and Musty
That would be insane!
This needs more attention
I'd like it if it was rumble. But Leth and the boys gameplay are powerups in their own way. These 2 couldn't touch them unless they got godly RNG
I was a Rumble GC a few seasons back and I rocked S03 a few times
@@Tylerc4xAF nope, they are already great players and they are way better than Leth or musty, who don't actually play too much rumble
I can’t imagine when someone asks them, “what’s the weirdest thing you know?” and then proceed to explain the entire Rumble Theory for the next several hours.
imagine them in a date,
"hey, so what is your favourite thing to do?"
"so rumble rotation takes a lot of processing that the brain has to do"
@@daniel-oc9hp "I love tornado dribbling to dunk on my rivals"

@@Pelusteriano LMAAAAOOOO
god, the level of passion they have for the grind to learn the unknown is fucking inspiring. It's one thing to be like "I want to get super good at something" and then devote a ton of time to acquiring all the knowledge out there about it to master it, it's an entirely different thing to pave that road yourself because that knowledge doesn't exist yet. These dudes are like the fucking Newton and Galileo of rumble.
Yea, really impressive.
Yeah it's awesome. Watching every replay for hours and hours. 2000 hours in one mode that only came out like two years ago?? Kings
yeeeeeee exactly
lol yo this is a big brain comment fr
But, most people will have no use for it cause so few people play it seriously
I actually really enjoyed watching them play rumble with strategy. If sunless made a 30-40 minute video with these two I'm sure a lot of people would be happy to watch the entire thing.
Favorite rumble memory: one time, an opponent saved a shot with spikes, and started an air dribble across the map. I leapt into their goal with a plunger and yanked the guy so hard he own goaled. Favorite replay to this day 😂
The 2 best players in a game mode being a duo as good friends is one of the most wholesome things
Fr it is always nice to have that 1 guy that you game with and yall wanna get better together
So you’re saying my “use the tornado immediately so I can get something better” strategy is… bad?
I do the same😂😂
lmao
Disrupter and teleport is more for that since they have such specific usage
In so3s guide he says that if you difrnt practice tornado in his oacks or dont know what to do its better to cycle
Lmao I just use it on other players
These guys are so awesome, I hope they get their RLCS rumble
You don't know how vindicated I feel right now. For the longest time I had been publishing clips on Twitter and explaining my ever-increasing strategies in the game mode. These guys have taken it to the extreme, and I might just read up on all the stuff that Rumble players have studied. I agree with them both that I dislike people dismissing Rumble as a simple RNG mode, and I also want the pro scene to give it the respect it deserves.
I also wish Psyonix would fix the grappling hook glitch, but I don't know if that's possible.
Sunless: "Rumble is the mode you play when you want a break."

I love rocket league, but even as I’m training sometimes I just lose interest and stop playing after a couple of hours one day. The sheer amount of dedication and love for a game mode that is not highly esteemed that these guys have is nothing short of remarkable. Props to them for blowing us away.

Speedy and SO3 deserve so much respect for how skilled they are. Kudos to them for being one of the most iconic duos of all time in Rocket League. Especially for a rumble team 🙏
I peaked number 13 on rumble leaderboard and I can confirm that these guys are on another level
3:25 that's called breaking surface tension. Great physical principle, also fantastic for successful striking and grappling techniques in real life. Probably fantastic for an alternative to demolitions in RL, just bumping an enemy around the map by anticipating his moves.
