She seemed to have this love/hate relationship w/him that I adored. Shame TPTB decided to ignore the chemistry between TG & NLG and went with Fluke instead.
I don't know how Luke ever thought for a second that he'd be able to act like he did to Laura's son and not destroy his entire family. What a dolt. And the truth has always been (and I watched them from the start) that Luke was never going to be able to recover from losing Laura, but she would be able to go on without him. Luke's reasons for being so obsessed (not just loving) Laura were too wrapped up in his childhood on Elm Street where he and Bobbi were treated like worthless street trash and then his father abandoning them to starve when his mother died. Yes, they went to Ruby where he learned to steal and con to survive, but Luke never felt worthy of being with people who had normal lives and he longed for that. This predates Laura. He ran the disco because it was stable and somewhat respect building in PC. He enrolled in college for the same reason. All of that predated him getting with Laura. He said time and again that Laura was too good for him, that she was the dream that he'd made it and was just as good as anyone. It was all wrapped together. He can cry Cassadine all he wants, but the truth of it is that Luke was too insecure to believe that Laura wanted him so he forced her to choose him and "his" children over Nikolas then freaked out when that didn't work. He was too insecure to accept that while she thought he was dead she chose another lover in Stefan and had his child even thought he'd moved on to Holly and gotten her pregnant when he finally accepted that Laura was gone. He's a hypocrite no matter how you cut it and it's because he's too insecure to believe he's worthy. He did nothing but go downhill from here and turn into a drunk in the end. Even his marriage to Tracy was based on a con and on the bitterness and disillusion they both shared. Meanwhile Laura went on. They made a huge mistake by having Stefan go dark and breaking them up. SnL were gold. They had chemistry in spades. He's also the only man she chose for herself as an adult. She chose the cult leader, David Hamilton and Scotty when she was a minor. Luke and Stavros both raped her (Stavros by using deception to take away her choice). She chose to be with Stefan because in a sense they were both prisoners and it shows.
I’d think she’d be bored to tears with him; I actually find him kind of creepy- he’s so stuffy and melodramatic! Nothing like sassy, edgy Elm St Luke, but Luke’s become so bitter and is hard to live with🤷🏻♀️

Luke became a jerk when he lost Laura. He had to quit caring about her and subsequently quit caring period. He was sorry about the rape. He wrote her a letter letting her go as he knew she cared about him. He was going to marry Jennifer and be done with Laura. Then he had to run for his life and Laura just happened to be there for him. She ran with him, but remember he did tell her to go back to Port Charles but she didn’t want to.
The good old days. Luke Laura Lucky Lulu and the Cassadines. How memorable. Never can say good bye to the good adventurous times of the Luke and Laura saga. Great stories love in the midst. And now Laura still remains. As Luke moved on. But GH. still keeps rolling on despite a lot of changes. over the last 54 years going on 55. So cool.
Laura is at the opera with Stefan, Luke is planning a thug fest with Sonny, hard to remember how L&L were soul mates. Opposites attract to be sure but she was never comfortable with violence and organized crime and Luke is always in it one way or another. Strange
Laura dancing and spinning like that reminded Luke of them dancing together at Wyndams I think. It truly wounded Luke to see that, and made me detest Laura even more.
Out of all the women TG has been paired with this is the worst of all. They are so mis matched it's not funny. She makes him look like a older man trying to be cool. TG is getting to the age where it is kind of silly to have him flirting all the time. The flirting all the time is not showing his tremendous acting abilities. I mean he is one of the all-time great actors the writers should have shown him some respect and stop with it already.

I must agree. As much as I like TG, Luke is a self-centered jerk much of the time. How Gloria Monty converted a rape into a love story, then, the wedding, the most watched episode in daytime history is nothing short of a miracle. He takes what he wants, and to hell with the consequences. How he's avoided a long stint in prison is beyond me! He's still the best actor in soaps, IMHO.But I think if he was anything short of that, Luke would be incarcerated for any number of offenses, including murder. TG was always disturbed by the rape turned romance, and has said so in interviews. No one expected a historic love affair to transpire, including himself and GF.
@@katydalton4759 If Elizabeth Taylor's outfit had contacted the show, there would have been no wedding. She wanted to do the show but also told them she wouldn't do it unless there was a wedding. That was how she and TG met and began a relationship. It wasn't long after that GF left the show for a period of time.
There is no way I could ever like opera. I am too much into Elvis, Disco, Classic Hits, Classic Country, Big Bands (Glenn Miller), Blues & Jazz.
