    I can only imagine how hard it must have been getting that sugar, what with the government wanting you to eat the processed sugar and corn syrup and not the natural healthy stuff. you only used natural sugar and no corn syrup, so you get a thumbs up! :)

    I never knew about the sugar from the India store. I have to find some. I grew up eating on canes in the south

      yes it is the same. its dried sugar cane juice. probably the most unprocessed form of sugar today.

    Have you ever made this with regular sugar? I ask because your sugar looks like it had some moisture already in it, which would affect it differently when using regular sugar. Two tblsp of water didnt hardly moisten my two cups of sugar. After 5 minutes it was still mostly a dry sugar.

      no I have used only brown sugar or jagery sugar with this recipe.

    Isn’t that sugar called Jaggery ?

      yes that is another name for it. dried sugar cane juice, and gaurd.

      I lived in Mexico for six months and there they have a variety of sugars like, panela, Piloncillo, moscavado and others not available in the USA. Any way I made the recipe with piloncillo and turbinado sugar then I was out of peanuts so I used pecans. I have to try sticking to recipes better. Lol, I made something sweet.🥴
