    Very impressed, very detailed, as a 1st timer it really REALLY would have been nice if you added the link for the rest of the assembly - re-installing excel ect ect

    You and I are a gluten for punishment still hanging onto and working on this 6.4. I did this exact same job a few years ago (along with new wheel bearings, seals, locking hubs as well as the entire front end suspension components).
    You make it look way too easy. Especially getting the axle snap ring out. It literally took me HOURS to remove that thing. I finally bought the Lang 1486 pliers. But even that tool I had to grind down the jaws to make it fit. You have to tell me which piers you used to get that out with such ease, because low and behold, I have a bad bearing AGAIN. And am not looking forward to diving in there again.
    On another note, Do you frequent any of the 6.4 Forums? They have been very helpful to me over the years. I would love to chat more there as this comment section isn't really meant to be a "forum".
    My current issue is a clogging oil cooler. It's a cab off job and outside of what I am willing to tackle myself.

      You almost have to be with what the stealerships want for even used diesel trucks. An oil cooler "can" be done cab on but its almost worth it to take the cab off for ease of the job. Thankfully these 08's don't have any of that DEF crap on them, I refuse to buy a truck that has it.

    Hey bro, do you think I need to replace the vacuum seals if I'm doing the ball joint job? Also, is that tool really needed to install the shaft back in?

    • @USAF99

      Could you re-use them? Sure. Are there ways to beat them back in without the proper tool? Of course. Are any of them right? Nope. I don't say that to be an elitist jerk, moreover that they are designed to be one time use because...Ford. The tool, I have heard there are ways to put them back in without the tool to the correct depth, but I prefer to just not have to think about it.

  • @johnnyschaefferoutdoors1205

    • @USAF99
      @USAF99  Před rokem +2

      They're from Rock Auto- they're the TTX ones. Had really good luck with those outlasting the Motorcraft ones.
