From what I have researched . Strength category goes under people who just need to lift maximum weight as possible eg : Olympic lifters , powerlifters only focus on amount weight as in competitions they only give priority to maximum weight for record breaking ,not the technique.

Hypertrophy: includes people who train for muscle definition and build toned body .. They focus on concentric and eccentric not the weight .Slop reps so they can give more muscle tension and maximum damage the muscle for better muscle growth. ...
