Io ho una six days 440..mi ha dato tanti problemi...ho dovuto cambiare il sensore della sonda lambda perché avevs una saldatura mal fatta e la moto non reggeva il minimo. A Roma non c'e più un assistenza Swm. Ho dovuto portare la moto a Palestrina da Libianchi..Un vero professionista. Sono contento di sapere che a qualcuno la moto va bene. Io sono seriamente indeciso se tornare all'affidabile Honda

I just bought a VTR250 mate, I've been riding it the last few weeks, it was really cheap to buy Used and learn on. Hows the 440 going? Have you felt the need to upgrade or you think its okay? My bike is good around town, but its on the border for the need to upgrade for a bit more higher speed riding... we have 110kph limits, so it can cope with that, but its a bit vibey around 110kph, and the crosswind seems to push the light bike. Is your bike okay with the crosswind at higher speeds? ps. I really need to do a motorcycle holiday in Europe soon :)
Hi Gary, congratulation for your new bike :-) The Swm 440 is working very well, I done also some interesting modifications, and in October I bought an CRF1000 Africa Twin. My average speed on the highway with 440 is 120 Km/h and I never feel troubles with crosswind. I will post a new video soon, let me know when you will came in Europe :-)

Ho fatto 9000 Km da Ottobre e per ora e' tutto ok. Ho cambiato la lampada del faro anteriore con una allo xeno che fa molta piu' luce (13 Euro da Norauto) e la candela con l'equivalente all'iridio che migliora la combustione (21 Euro). Mi sento di consigliare entrambe le cose, magari la candela dopo i 2000 Km cosi' non sporchi quella nuova con il rodaggio.
Posso chiederti come si è comportata in autostrada? Ho avuto risposte più che positive da chi possiede la Outlaw ma non ho idea se anche con la Gran Turismo l'opinione è identica. Grazie
Mi ha stupito la stabilita', non me lo aspettavo. A 20.000 Km ho rifatto catena-corona-pignone ed ho allungato i rapporti, che prima erano troppo corti. La ripresa e' ancora ottima, vado a 130 Km/h a 6.000 rpm con motore rilassato e consumi bassissimi. A breve pubblichero' un video a riguardo.

Avevo iniziato a guardare la Suzuki TU 250X prezzo su strada $7.000, i consumi e velocita' massima sono simili alla SWM Il prezzo della tassa stradale annuale (o semestrale) e' praticamente uguale fino a 500cc Solo che non mi fido del discorso motore perche' non si capisce bene tecnicamente parlando da dove proviene mentre quello della Suzuki e' una roccia!

Thanks very much :-) The vibrations are really contained, there is probably a balancing system. In the past I had a Suzuki DR and it vibrates much, much more, I remember that the motorcycle rear-mirrors and keyring was vibrating a lot. Over 120 Km/h the problem is the wind on the helmet that fatigues the neck, but it may be that I'm not used to it because I do not go much on the highway.

We don't really have many available long-term reliability reports on these models yet, and people tend to get nervous when they hear motorcycles with Chinese parts. But sometimes, this is just like you know, a myth...
I bought the bike in September 2018 and so far I have covered just over 4000 Km. After the break-in I only replaced the original spark plug with the Iridium counterpart, now the bike starts better and also responds much better at low revs. Regarding the reliability, quality and performance, I too had the same doubts and before buying I made a verification, because it was a new model and brand also for me. The model is about 2 years old and in 2018 it has been renewed esthetically, but the mechanics has remained the same than before and around I don't had read any particular problem. The parent company is a Chinese giant that produces engines and has acquired the plant and employees of the Husqvarna of Varese (close to Milan) to create the SWM (that formally is an old Italian brand). Currently in Italy the SWM support is good and I hope it remains so. Before buying, you should check the level of support in your country, to avoid waiting for a spare part for months.
@@adltech1633 Yeah, I have a local SWM dealership in my city, so I think the support is there for now, but I guess it mainly becomes a problem if SWM become suddenly liquidated. However, with a Large Chinese company (Shineray, I think) backing SWM, perhaps it will have plenty of support for many years to come. They are smart the Chinese, they invest in these older defunct companies from Europe to enable them to sell a "premium" product, as we normally perceive new Chinese brands and manufacturing as low priced products, which is not true reflection of the underlying value of the product. Its like the same perception we made when manufacturing nations much like korea or japan first entered the mainstream with cars and other technologies, say 10-30 years ago. On Shineray company, many local mechanics here they will not do work on any of the Shineray 250cc cafe racer bikes for example, because they are carburetor, hard to get after-market parts, or perceived to have too many mechanical issues or they require more ongoing maintenance. These are the cheaper bikes from Shineray, they are normally re-branded in different countries like Mash (France/EU), Herald (UK), Braapt (Australia), etc etc. Its a shame, as they are cheap to buy initially and they look great, but only a local dealer will service them, not many or any independent mechanic in local area's for example. Back to SWM, most of the independent mechanics in my area said the new bikes from SWM look mechanically sound, they said do not to worry if you like the bike as the build quality should be pretty good.
Oh, and strangely here, we only get Silver frames on the Gran Turismo and Silver Vase models, no black frames. Even on the new models. Only the Gran Milano get's the black frames. I think I prefer the black frame like your Silver Vase model.

ciao Amico, dopo qualche anno sto valutando di tornare in moto tutti i giorni tutto l'anno. principalmente casa lavoro 40km facendo il giro lungo in autostrada 20 tagliando da estremo ad estremo Roma. Ho paura dei sui solo 30 cv ma cerco anche un mezzo economico, consiglieresti le moto del marchio? la six day e outlow le preferite.
Ciao Alessandro, se il tuo fuoristrada si limita a qualche strada bianca potresti anche considerare la gran turismo (che ho visto a meno di 5000 Euro). La outlow secondo me costa troppo e non ha la ruota anteriore da 19'', che sulle buche e' un toccasana e soprattutto rende la moto piu' stabile in velocita'. Con i 30 CV fai i 140 km/h a manetta (ed io no ho fatti parecchi di km t a 130/140 km/h), ma se vuoi stare sui 25 km/l devi stare sui 120 km/h, quindi in autostrada potresti starci un po' stretto, dipende da come sei abituato ad andare. Invece fuori ce n'e' a sufficienza ed anche in montagna, se non sei timido con il gas, la motina fa il suo dovere. I costi di gestione sono ridicoli (per cambiare le pastiglie anteriori ho pagato 25 Euro), considera pero' che per farla andare bene devi usare la benzina a 98 o 100 ottani (e' indicato anche nel manuale della moto). Con la 95 ottani la moto funziona, ma vibra parecchio ed ai bassi non risponde bene, invece con la 100 ottani gira liscia e tieni la 5 marcia da 60 a 140 km/h. Per l'uso quotidiano la moto e' perfetta, e' comodissima e pesa poco. Il marchio onestamente non lo conosco, pero' mi fido del concessionario dove l'ho presa (Luciano Moto di Casalgrasso) perche' non e' uno che fa fregature. Fin'ora la moto e' andata come un orologio svizzero, ovviamente tocchiamo ferro.

Oltre i 140 km/h, fino a 120 viaggi comodissimo, oltre non puoi fare tanti km, troppa aria e troppo rumore.

La mia si avvia meglio a freddo, risponde meglio ai bassi regimi, in generale il motore e' piu' pronto e regolare. E' stato davvero un toccasana.
