@@fuiii_ okay i know this is going to be hard to hear but you have to be patient in order to move on. Its very hard to move on if your mind is constantly thinking about moving on because your fixated on it. Just try to focus on yourself more. Maybe try a new sport, or learn something new, try cooking a new recipe! Or even simply do nothing differently. Its hard to stop obsessing (I would know im doing it currently, ive been obsessed with my crush i cant do damn near anything without thinking about them) but if your patient, youll look back at yourself and find that all this time youve felt as though you were “still obsessed” you had already moved on and were too blinded by the idea of moving on that you tricked your mind into continuing to think about your crush. Remember that you have many other people out there that feel the same way right now but the most important thing is that you are gaurenteed to feel better with time. Patience is the most important part of moving on. Think about how much your life has changed in the last 4 months, and think about what 4 months from now will do for you. It just takes time!

If that relationship is not working out, it is time to detach. What if your crush is already married? No point being a homewrecker. What if people you invest in kicks you out and did not want to invite you? You have to learn how to respect their decision.
For all the people who just realized it’s time to move on, I JUST moved on from a situation like this. The way I got out of the situation was admitting to them I had feelings for them, but telling them we were better off friends. We’re still friends, and it was a little awkward the first two days, but we’re still good friends. It’s better to bite the bullet and get it over with, and if you’re lucky, they might admit to liking you back. Either way, it’s the best advice I can give. It might suck but you’ll save so much time and joy.

Date = The act of commiting on attraction & testing its durability.
Avoidance = The act of avoiding risks, that may or may not crush your expectations.

The annoying part is that my crushes are never as into me as I’m into them and I don’t have that many crushes or the urge to really go look for someone. So a person that I’m actually interested in really only shows up in my life like every 2 years. In between that I’m just emotionally neutral (just content with life) and when another crush comes along and we hang out I start back feeling that wonderful rainbow of things.

I think I have abandonment issues. Everyone I have ever dated used me, and abused me verbally and with their mentality and actions. Now that I am 49 and divorced I have a different way of interacting with men. I have the diagnosis and I never dated but had a poor childhood at times so it stuck with me and takes over at times. Sometimes it's great to meet someone like you with the same struggles but sometimes its hard cos if both have a very bad trust issue, what will result?

@@myrkflinn4331 I can answer that question simply. It may sound a bit pessimistic but nothing will result. Both me and my crush had or have trust issues and we both went in circles around each other because both of us were too shy to actually make a move. Except I opened myself up to him I was alright with it but he just simply didn't trust me. He didn't want to talk to me open up do anything and I was trying yet it resulted in nothing. We have the same problems shyness, trust issues yet I tried to work past them but he didn't and eventually it ended up with him blocking me and cutting of all contact

I think if the person you're 'friendzoned' with is single, you should definitely just tell them how you feel. It's obviously a lot more dicey if they're in a relationship already. In that case, you should probably just distance yourself from them as your friendship with them isn't worth dealing with the emotional strain of unrequited affection.

For me, it depends on the severity of the crush. If I only think that this person is somewhat cute, but know her well enough to prioritize her friendship over my attraction to her, then we can definitely be friends. If I’ve become totally infatuated with her, or the shallow fantasy of her that I’ve built up in my head as an escape mechanism from my own personal issues, then I might have to distance myself from her despite the desire for friendship.
@@Emad5276 I'm still in love with my best friend and she knows that you just learn to not act on those feelings. It's difficult to do but eventually you can do it with anyone it's just about being self aware if yourself and learning to have self control. It may sound simple but it takes a lot of mental strength and also openly talking about with the person helps but a lot of people can't handle confrontation.

While I’ve certainly had pleasant friendships with a few women to whom I am mildly attracted, I’ve also had to distance myself from other women because I couldn’t shake the unattainable fantasy of being with them, and didn’t wish to bother them or embarrass myself with my persistent feelings. I fell in love with a girl a year ago when we became really close socially. For everyone here I'd like to give you hope. I've been down in the ditch for many years. I've had many crushes and it also crushed my life when things go awry.

A few weeks ago, i was in a similar situation, after months of being stupidly obsessed with my crush, i finally picked myself up and texted her, i struck up a conversation and then asked her if she's free this weekend, she said that she's gonna be spending time with her family and then she's going on a trip to the mountains, after doing a quick social media stroll i discovered that she's actually not going to the mountains at all and was likely just talking her way out of the situation! That's when i finally moved on. I am very, very glad that i tried it because
1. I would probably still be obsessed with her,
2. I would probably curse at myself for the rest of my life for not growing the balls and at least trying and
3. It has gave me a very valuable lesson that indeed the worst she can say is 'no', and you'll just have to move on. Never be afraid to give it a shot my friend!

I think a lot of this advice can be applied to other relationships whether platonic, or business. Regardless of what your situation is, if the writing is on the wall, it’s time to move on.
I was just given a hard reminder of this recently. If someone is not interested in what you have to offer, don’t force it. Do not obsess over things outside of your control. Admittedly, this is easier said than done.

And than she finally realized that her boyfriend treated her as an entertainment for himself, not as a person who had deep feelings for him. And she also realized that the guy in her friendzone treated her much better and he had far more good qualities than her boyfriend.
That girl is me, and the guy whose crush I was is now my husband. And we're very happy together.

As a confident person I can say most of my crushes were one sided. I had a lot of ppl that were intimidated by me also so they went another way. Crazy thing is I’m an approachable individual , have a lot going for myself and that shouldn’t scare anyone
I've learned the hard lesson that it's best to keep your crush a secret. Telling someone you have a crush on them can only lead to rejection and heartbreak in the end.

It hurts so much when you’ve liked them for 11 months and found out that they hurt your friends and are toxic, and probably manipulated you too. I had that happen personally, too. What eventually made me stop thinking of him a lot or in a good way was his Ring. He turned out to be married. I ended up leaving the job, just to avoid him. I haven't seen him in nearly two years.
