Rest In Peace Kevin Conroy.
He’s with Adam West now, now heaven has another Batman
🦇
Kevin Conroy , is Batman. Thanks for those awesome Saturday mornings , everyday was bliss watching this.
"the batman" was one of the best shows I'd ever seen. Defined my childhood along with batman tas and justice league tas
The Batman feels as if the people who made Spectacular Spider-Man were told "do that again, but do it to Batman".
Cause bruce and batman feel more like peter parker and spider-man than actually feeling like who they are supposed to be.
I was upset that Wonder Woman didn’t appear on the show
@@Hadeks_MarowDon't. He's still Batman
I will never forget how badly Cartoon Network treated Beware the Batman. They wanted that show to fail.
you mean how they badly treated every good show they had
Seriously. I could understand they didn't want anything to do with it after the toy plans didn't happen, but they could've at least aired the rest of it properly.
One of the best Batman shows imo...
I was kinda hoping for a crossover with the Green Lantern series. lol
@@GamerSlyRatchet1 Kevin Smith did an interview with one of the show's creators and he said a Cartoon Network exec wanted it to fail to prove a point: Action cartoons with syndicated stories aren't popular. Audiences want noisy comedies like SpongeBob. It's also why they kept giving Steven Universe bad timeslots.
Rest In Peace Adam West.
The one batman who won't let go of a bomb
The Batman was criminally underrated!
Batman: The Animated Series will always be one of the best depictions of Batman, the series is near flawless and it gave us Batman Mask of the Phantasm, one of best Batman movies ever along with, in my view the best/joint best Joker story ever
It is the best
@@queenwandaful4009was just about to say. It’s the best adaptation, it’s even better than the comics (in some cases) with portrayals of certain characters.
Of course, BTSA is amazing and I wtch it several times a week, and I'm 37. If a cartoon is underrated, it's the 1968 show (not the 1977 show)
That episode of Batman: The Animated Series "Beware the Grey Ghost" was really awesome having Adam West playing Bruce's hero the Grey Ghost. You really got to see a side to Bruce that was that of the little boy that was also lost the night Thomas and Martha were killed when he talked about how him and his dad used to watch his show when he was a kid. And then it was really awesome getting to see Bruce working with his hero. Amazing.
I’m surprised to see “The Batman” so high. Not complaining I personally loved the unique takes on characters and even more gadget oriented Batman. I always just figured it was widely regarded as a lesser adaptation because of its orientation towards a toy line.
Batman beyond is so underrated
The Batman: Am I a joke to you?
@@MarioSonicPhillyFan700yes, you are a joke. **Insert screen cap of platter with "Alucard" written on it**
It is. The tie in to Justice League was great.
Batman Beyond takes place in 2039, NOT 2019.The prologue however, takes place in 2018.
Love your videos
The Animated Series profoundly affected my childhood; decades later and now being completely blind for the roughly past 6 years, I still laugh when I listen to Almost Got 'Im and I cry every time in Mudslide ... there are other few good episodes as well that I remember like I saw it yesterday
Amazing you can still post a comment while being completely blind for six years. How did you do it?
@@chrismartinez3637 assistive technology is a wonderment; these technologies actually have been around for like about 40 or 50 years at least, but did not get popularized & modernized until the advent of PDAs and smartphones ... as much as I'm afraid of the misuse/abuse of AI in the future, I am looking forward to the benefits of it to the disability community
It's funny I own the DVDs for every season of Batman the Animated Series and I've had it for years watching it as a kid
Brave and the Bold is underrated. They dug in the crates or back issue bins with many of the characters they used.
Batman TAS was shown on Friday nights here in the philippines in the 90's. So, yeah, you can really feel his nocturnal adventures.
Say what you will about Filmation, and you did, I still remember being a comic book fan (in the '60s) who really appreciated the early animated shows. In the desert you're grateful for whatever water you can get, I guess.
As always thank you so very much for the video.
And speaking of animated Batman series, honorable mention to Crusader Cat and Minute Mouse?
R.I.P Kevin Conroy's Batman 🦇😭
Wait didn't The Batman have 5 seasons? Batgirl was introduced in season 3, Robin in season 4, and most of season 5 was team-ups with other heroes as I recall. Honestly in my opinion The Batman season 3 and 4 was so peak! There was also that The Batman vs Dracula movie set between season 2 and 3 right? Honestly I thought season 5 of The Batman had a lot of flaws though... For one Batgirl was hardly in it and they gave too much importance to other heroes appearing like it was Brave and the Bold or something. Don't get me wrong music in Brave and the Bold was great and the show made me laugh a lot but honestly not what I look for in Batman so much as in things like Phineas and Ferb where that is more appropriate.
Beware The Batman deserves so much more love than it gets.
I really liked Batman: Brave and the Bold. It was a fun campy batman, a breath of fresh air form the batman stuff at the time
Hey man that noise you added when you’re transitioning to the next show HURTS MY EARS,lol. Like a nails on chalkboard version of a squeak
One 23 minute episode containes two stories, one longer, and the other short. The point of The 1968 was to continue the tone of the 1966 show, focusing on the same core villains and style of the 1966 show, and they managed to deliver that. I love Robin in the very first episode after and over-the-top scene saying: Oh this is ridiculous. This cartoon knows exactly what is and isn't trying to be anything else, it's embracing the tone of the 1966 show and if you like the 1966, this cartoon is well worth watching. The writing is NOT bad, it may be a bit basic, but it has many brilliant moments. After re-watching it this year, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. The strength of the 1968 cartoon is the humor, successful and respectful homage to the 1966 show and the music, which is so much better than the music in the rather poor 1977 show. Batman and Robin sound so similar to how they sounded in the 1966; obviously done intentionally. The narration is also in the style of The 1966 show. The 1968 show is firmly based on the latter half of the silver age Batman (1965-mid 70's), the 1966 show; and it's core villains. The 1977 show is based on the first part of the Silver age (mid 50's - 1964); "monsters and aliens Batman", and not the bronze age, making it feel dated. The 1968 is not dated. If it is, than so is the 1966 show. We will never get shows like these 2 ever again, so I embrace this cartoon for being an absolute guilty pleasure. I still prefer BTAS, but that's a subject for another time.
good call on the Silver age part 1 and part 2. This cartoon, like the Adam West show, is definitely part 2. "The new Adventures of Bat Man" are anything but new. That show is based on part 1, ironically shown on TV when The Silver age was transforming into the early bronze. And yes, you are right about the villains, they use Joker, Penguin, Ridddler, Catwomen, Mr. Freeze and The Mad Hatter, and not all these awful new characters and aliens that were a part of the new adventures. Tis would influence future comics, movies and future Batman cartoons. Interesting fact that they used the comic book look on the villains, rather than trying to copy the look of the Adam West show, even using Catwomen's then-green-comic-book look of that time. Not everyone likes the Silver age live-action show and this cartoon. That's fine, but they are iconic and have historical importance.
Batman The Animated Series will always be the best and most nostalgic for me. It's the one that made Batman for me. There will never be another Kevin Conroy Batman nor a Mark Hamill Joker.
Beware the Batman was awesome. I wish it had succeeded, but CN didn’t do it any favors
Beware the Batman being that low feels wrong to me. And I would've swapped The Batman and Brave and the Bold's places. The Batman was fine, but BatB was special.
Ok now I want to get back into The Batman
RIP Arleen Sorkin
I love the 1968-1969 show. Much better than the 1977 show, with all those new but uninteresting new villains, aliens oh and the annoying Bat-Mite, plus the used many of the same animation cells from the 1968 show. The 1966 show is an obvious inspiration. I still prefer a darker Batman and Batman the Animated series is obviously considered the gold standard, as it should be. But the 1968-1969 show is also good in its own right. Even Paul Dini enjoys it. He used yo work at Filmation in the 80's. You also need to consider the time it was made and the limitations that today are a distant memory. It's the first Batman TV show. It may not be the best thing you've seen, but it has it's charm, plus, together with the 1966 show, it's historically important.
BTAS is my all time favorite cartoon, and my all time favourite version of Batman. I do however think the 1968 show should be higher, and definitely above the 1977 show.
Well, BTAS defined what Batman truly is and should be depicted as, so that’s clearly the winner. Thanks to it, we got the Arkham games and The Batman movie
RIP Kevin Conroy
The Batman 2nd ? I'd put it behind the Brave and the bolt, maybe even behind Beware the Batman (I'd have to see it again to be sure). The Batman is a little too safe for my taste. No dark themes. Too many wasted villains for my taste. Bane is just a muscle for hire, The Penguin goes from genius criminal intellectual to kung fu-talented moron, Mr Freeze is just a bank robber who had an accident, and while the Quizzmaster isn't super interesting in the comics, good God, he didn't deserve this treatment...
This series is sometimes good when it takes risks, or does something new, but it's rare. Right now, I only remember the Riddler flashback episode, and Ragdoll, which although classic, had the advantage of original animation.
I'll be real honest the batman was my childhood
1) TAS (my childhood, yes I’m old lol)
2) New Batman Adventures
3) Beyond
4) Brave and the Bold
5) The Batman
6) Beware the Batman
7) The Adventures of Batman
8) The New Adventures of Batman
Batman Beyond was set in 2039
I STILL WATCH BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES
I forgot how old I was but back in 2008 Batman the brave and the bold was one of my favorite Batman shows 10 out of 10 5 stars as well as beware of the Batman I loved 3D animation
I'm sorry, but people who hate on beware the batman most likely never watched the whole thing. The league of assassins arc and lore with the soul taker sword is one of the best iterations I've ever seen, and the relationships between barman and other characters like alfred, gordan etc are nuanced and written beautifully.
Really? No mention about the Justice league Unlimited special episode of Who Terry (Batman beyond) real father is?
The brave and the bold is the best Batman
Completely agree!
@@Pikwii 💯
I actually really liked Beware the Batman, it’s sad that it only lasted for 1 season
Correction: Only the opening prologue of Batman Beyond takes place in 2019. The show's main storyline takes place in 2039.
The Batman 2004-2008 was my favorite one I grew up with that one. I was upset that Wonder Woman didn’t make an appearance she’s one the of the original Justice League members!
I really loved the brave and the bold. It took a minute for me to get used to it after tas but once I saw it for what it was, I was in love
I felt Batman Beyond was really underrated I cant believe a live adaptation has been tried or at least an animated one.
Here is my top three
Batman the animated series
Batman Beyond
Batman Brave and the Bold
@Gamer97704 I could see your list being right as well. I could switch The Batman with Batman Brave and the Bold. I just enjoyed the campiness of Batman Brave and the Bold.
Terry is from 2039
The best and most comics accurate Batman that we ever got was Kevin Conroy's DCAU Batman
there can only be on true champion!
Who played batman
The Batman is good and i’m tired to pretend it’s not
Screw you for putting that joke of a series B&tB bellow beware. I swear you did that just to disrespect everyone here. xD
Super-Friends
I liked the batmans series. THough number one is batma the animated series. He kind fo felt more human in this show compared to many others in my opinions.
1. Batman Animated series
2. Batman beyond
3. Batman the brave and the bold
4. New batman adventures
5. Beware the batman
okay good, Batman tas is place one, was just checking if I had to burn everything to the ground since you kept mentioning the batman in the shorts, also... wth, the batman isn't place 2 thats batman beyond, introduced twink batman, great show. show some respect to your elders...
💜
The batman above beyond and new adventures? Yeah, right
Rip KC.
Pitch RIDDIC series
Batman brave and the blod is funny and cool
Never mind, Never request... Idk
Batman the brave and the bold was my favourite despite not liking it to begin with... 😊
completely disagree with the last placed assessment of TAOB 1968. sure, it was cheaply animated but that was a sign of the times. If Filmation had had the budget of Warner Brothers' BTAS there would be shock waves to this day, but they didn't. they were on a shoestring budget but didn't keep them from producing, with all the care they could, a warmly regarded version of Batman and Robin from that era. Voice acting, musical soundtrack, and pacing Plus an explosion of color were the strengths of Batman 1968. I feel that the nostalgia aspect alone not withstanding the iconic images of Batman and Robin behind the wheel of probably the Slickest Batmobile Ever, should give you pause before you drive your audience away from this production, which is by No Way as bad as you say
2004 & TAS are a tie for me.
Ngl people in the netherlands missed out.
batman tas
I think this is the only tier list I 100% agree with
I could not get into The Batman. One thing I hate was that they rewrote some villain origins. The one I hate the most was Mr. Freeze. In Paul Dini Batman they gave Mr. Freeze a tragic backstory. On he became a Mr. freeze and why he commits crime, which is to save his wife Nora. As an audience you know that the crime he commits isn't right but you understand why he does them. Even Batman himself understand that Mr . Freeze is just trying to save is wife. in the The Batman he's just common thief with a "cool" look. To me the look was created yo just sell toys
In my opinion while the broken villain of freeze is certainly amazing the one in the 2004 animated series stands for something else. He’s a vengeful spirit from Batman’s earlier years who was shaped by his mistakes and failures as a protector
Num 2 should have been number 4… the Batman was not the second best Batman animated series
Brave and the Bold being that low and The Batman being that high is a straight up crime.
New batman adventures shouldn't be a separate entry from BTAS. Not even MAX nor original airings made it it's own thing.
Glad to see “The Batman” getting a lot of love these days
Awful as anything Screenrant does. The big mistake is placing The Batman at #2. It is an insult to Batman Beyond, but it didn't add much to the public perception of Batman and had some horrible episodes that were not redeemed by style or voice talent. It would be correctly placed before The Brave and the Bold. Which added much needed perspective on the richness of the character. The Batman basically wrapped up, B&B could have gone for a couple more seasons, digging deeper into classic DC
TNBA is hardcore trash, and everyone should rewatch them to realize how far the show fell - as bad as the original cartoons homies
