@Browntable I'm getting sick of hearing people talk about this show... It's a good show, and it doesn't deserve to be forgotten, but the amount of youtubers giving it praise these days is a bit too much for me... It's a good show, but not THAT good. It has way more in common with series like the Flash or Gotham, than with Batman TAS or Batman Beyond. At least in my opinion.

One thing I really like about this show is how they did Batgirl and Robin. Because of the massive age difference between the two (DIck was still in middle school while Barbara was starting college) their story couldn't really work out the way it usually does. They actually completely change the dynamic with Barbara acting much more like an older sister and secondary mentor to Dick, and it ends up working out really well and is still one of the most unique takes on their relationship that I've seen

Every Batman/Bruce Wayne is capable of being social. The big difference between this one and most of them is that THIS one is sociable without having to put on an act, tries to hold onto his personal relationships and doesn't view most of them as a means to an end. He was scarred by his parents death, and it inspired him to be do whatever he can to clean up Gotham both as Batman and Bruce Wayne, but it didn't break this Batman like it did with the other versions to the point where he seems as crazy as almost anyone in his rogues gallery. This Bruce Wayne isn't a mask for Batman, he's actually the charming guy that can enjoy going out for a night on the town with a friend.

There were so many Batman related shows going on at the time this series was released. JL Unlimited & Teen Titans were killing it in the early 2000's and were soley responsible for the exclusion of certain characters in The Batman. Which is probably why the 3rd & 4th season moved at such a break neck pace with the inclusion of Robin & Batgirl. But man I loved this series. The way they gave a more stylized take on the characters was perfect! Villains that aren't usually physically capable of competing with Batman are now able to match him tick for tack. But they kept the core elements in tact. Its really a shame that this show is so underrated. I honestly wouldn't mind a bluray release.

But i feel like Batgirl and Robin added so much to the show with their dynamic with Bruce and each other. I even liked the spin of having Batgirl come before Robin because I feel like some rookie wiggling her way into being his occasional sidekick would warm Bruce up to letting his adopted son moonlight as his official one. Plus Robin and Batgirl’s rivalry over who was the better sidekick was funny.

the best super powered universe is "Wild Cards"
It is a science fiction and superhero anthology series set in a shared universe. The series was created by a group of New Mexico science fiction authors, and mostly edited by George R. R. Martin.
      why ?
      1) because this universe is exactly what would happen if everyday people got super powers.
2)when people become super powered THEIR super powers follow some of the laws of physics.
      Example,
if you become 100% invisible, the back of your retinas would become invisible as well, basically you would become blind when you used your invisible powers.
This is exactly what happens to a character in the series. To over come his limitation, he learns a ZEN awareness technique that allows him to memorize his surroundings.
my other favorite powered individual has almost instantaneous healing. so once they broke their arm, it healed crooked. they had to re-break it to get it to heal correctly. he wasnt immune to pain.
3)You basically only get one power AND sometimes a limitation or weakness(that makes sense). Everyone in the series, isn't like Superman and has a billions superpowers and all powers at god-like levels.
if you want to immerse yourselves in a "real life" universe of believable super powered beings "wild cards is the place to start.
Warning, its for mature audiences with adult situations.
the series(Wild Cards) is nothing like DC or MARVEL.

I really liked the series. I think why it was not remembered that well is because it had the dubious honour of being the first animated series tackle Batman after Batman TAS. It's like when Ultimate Spiderman following Spectacular Spiderman or the Avengers series that followed Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Follow a milestone series is never easy and people are less forgiving of the new series because it's not the old series. The Batman was not DCAU and that rubbed some people the wrong way. To be fair Teen Titans also not DCAU and is better remembered but that is mainly because with exception of Robin every thing in TT hadn't been seen before. By this point we had seen an animated Batman and iconic versions of his whole villain gallery. Even now, any animated Joker not voiced by Mark Hamil gets marked down almost instantly.
