How I turn my embroidery designs into patterns!

  • Here's how I turn my original embroidery designs into digital patterns using the Procreate app for the iPad.
This tutorial is intended for you to use with your OWN, original ideas. This tutorial will be useful for you if you're wanting to make a pattern to sell to other people so they can recreate your work, or if you're needing to replicate one of your own designs and want to be as precise as possible.
In this tutorial, I show you how to copy your design for transferring purpose, meaning a black and white outline that will make it easy for somebody to transfer to fabric, as well as how to make a colorful guide so that whoever is using your pattern has an easier time figuring out which colors go where!
One thing I don't cover in this particular video are specific ways to FORMAT your final pattern. It's really important that you also play around and come up with your own unique format for patterns, just like you've played around and designed your own original embroidery designs.
To download the free pattern I show you as an example in this video, click here: www.hopebroidery.com/product-...
    Happy Pattern Making!

So glad i decided to look through your past videos. I am just starting out and have all my designs in old fashion paper and pencil. This app is amazing and you taught how to use it so beautifully and detailed. I don't have an ipad but will be investing now. Thanks for this tutorial it will forever be saved and will come back to it to remind myself how to make patterns and coloured designs.

Don't know if I'll ever sell patterns, but this was so helpful to make them in general! I can't draw at all, so tracing pictures will be good practice

Thank you for sharing! May you do a version for black work? I’m struggling to figure out how to do it and there are minimal videos of how others do it in recent times.

I love this! I'm thinking about getting a wacom so I can start sketching my own designs by hand with Photoshop tools, but you're making me consider getting an ipad instead. What size/model ipad and pen do you use? Do you prefer it over a wacom tablet? Thanks for posting, you're the first person I've found who has made a video on this :)

Great video but where do I go now to make this an actually stitching file? That would be really helpful to know I feel like I’m left out . I’m just learning how to do embroidery and really wish I had that information.

Hello, this is a great video. Exactly what I needed. Is your finished drawing then digitized for sending to a fabric printer? Are you using the 64GB IPad? Thanks for sharing your experience! Sp appreciated.

I honestly usually use a combination of Canva and Powerpoint! Often times, I'll build the entire thing Procreate, too! :)
