This is the most helpful video ever! The whole time my jaw was dropped! I started doing embroidered T-shirt commissions awhile ago and have been learning as I go and I’ve been sketching complicated designs on a paper, punching holes outlining it with pen on the shirt, and then connecting the dots....
So many solution options I NEEDED and had no idea about❤️

My handwriting is what people called chicken scratch and so when it comes to drawing it's even worse. LOL. But to know that I can use my printer to transfer patterns it's the best thing since the pencil and eraser. LOL. Thank you. This info will make my life so much easier.

Well thank you very much for this tutorial, you have solved my problem first go. I used 1 piece of freezer paper on my fabric first and it wouldn't go through the printer, it was still kind of floppy. Then I ironed another piece of freezer paper onto the first piece, giving double thickness and it went through and printed perfectly.

The carbon paper! 😭 Can I reuse the Carbon paper? For those who want a no cost nethod to these amazing tips, you can put a piece of paper over your laptop or phone (for this, download a lock app because the screen will move around) and trace. After, go over the sketch with a 6B drawing pencil very hand. (usually artsy people have these so 'no cost' but if not, it'll probably cost a $1? 🤷) Make sure you know where you want to place the fabric then place it sketch side down and use a heavy item to run along the back of the paper. Because the lead is so prominent, it works. I watched it in another video.

I'm not an artist either. I am using MS-Word, with its "Insert Shapes" feature. I also use screenshots of pictures I want to copy.
If you can't create your entire image using inserted shapes (have them set to "In Front of Text" and "Format the Object" so that the "Move with text" box is NOT clicked, so you can move the shapes around, regardless of where the cursor is on the page).
First, create a circle that is the same size as whatever hoop you plant to use (5", 7", etc). Edit the circle so it has at least a 1pt line border and make sure it says "NO FILL." This will become your guide for what can fit in your hoop, if you plan to embroider only within a hoop. Using this, your image can be drawn to scale properly.
Make sure this circle is set to "Move to front", so you won't lose it.
If you have a lot of shapes to draw in order to make your image, draw them on a separate page. You can later "Group" them, move them into your circle (or your circle onto them) and shrink or enlarge them all at once, as needed.
You can also screenshot any clipart or image you would like to use from the internet, then either Copy it into your Word document or Insert it as a Picture. If you have a lot of little shapes drawn in Word to make your image, you can also take a screenshot of those (when completed) and make them one image this way, if you don't wish to "group" them.
Keep in mind that "Grouped" images can later be "Ungrouped" and edited individually, whereas screenshot cannot. However, if you have a lot of layers of shapes and some of them are too buried to be selected for Grouping, screenshots work better.
      .
