Pro-Ukraine internet warriors always call out the Russian security assurances in the Budapest Memorandum, but neglect to note that the Ukrainian Declaration of State Sovereignty specified neutrality.

    • @paristo
      @paristo Před 2 měsíci

"but neglect to note that the Ukrainian Declaration of State Sovereignty specified neutrality."
What is written (translation) in it:
"The Declaration established the principles of Self-Determination of the Ukrainian Nation, Rule of the People, State Power, Citizenship of the Ukrainian SSR, Territorial Supremacy, Economic Independence, Environmental Safety, Cultural Development, External and Internal Security, and International Relations."
One important part to notice is, that even when it says "Self-Determination" meaning they can determine themselves what they want, their hands are tied what comes to EURO, as it dictates "Economic Independence", and you can't be economically independent if you join EU, or you take a euro as your currency.
As on that moment Ukraine will take dictations from EU and IMF.
And right now, Ukraine has been taking commands from IMF since 2014, that is against their constitution by every government since then.
The last democratically elected president was 2010, and he chose to keep Ukraine independent economically by choosing better deal to do business with Russia than EU. And EU and USA didn't like that idea as they lost the power on that moment.
So already taking any loans from USA, EU etc for weapons etc, selling land to Black Rock and so on, is violation of their Declaration of Independence, constitution.
"The declaration also proclaimed that the republic has intent to become in a future "a permanently neutral state that does not participate in military blocs," and that it would not accept, nor produce, nor procure nuclear weapons."
And that right there is as well about the wrong doing part, Russia didn't even suggest any military block with Ukraine as it was against their constitution. But that doesn't matter to NATO (USA + EU etc), as they are the violators, not the Russia. Just getting Ukraine illegally join NATO is great win for USA as they get to threaten Russia.
What Russia has demanded, is that Ukraine will honor their declaration of independence and constitution, as well exactly the Budapest Memorandum, that they will not become a part of alliances that open influence to their domestic politics, economy etc. That is what EU and NATO wants.
And as well people forget that Budapest Memorandum dictates that signing parties do not intervene at all to Ukraine domestic politics.
That is violated by the USA in 2008 by inviting Ukraine to join NATO.
That was violated by the USA and EU in 2014 by organizing government overthrow, assassination attempt to democratically elected president and before those even to organizing Ukraine to become member of EU to be under laws and commands from Brussel.
Russia didn't do anything of that kind. Their deal was to extend land lease for their naval harbor, in exchange for lower price of the gas and oil. Nothing political influencing, no currency changing, no dictations for Ukraine laws or their domestic power.
And Russia didn't even invade Ukraine 2022. That is a myth really. And now people will get angry and upset.
But they don't understand that by the UN Charter, the right for self-determination and self-governance is on the people, not governance. The people who own the lands and who live on the land, has the only legal right to decide who governs them. That is corner stone of every democracy, that people choose their representatives and leaders among themselves. No one else can choose who governs the other people.
And when a people by themselves want to change governance, become autonomic, become independent... It is the right of the people, not right of the government to deny that.
The Vladimir Putin personally asked leaders from Lughansk and Donetsk to hold off their independence declaration, saying that Russia will not recognize such and they need to stay part of the Ukraine.
Finally when 2022 Zelensky declared Minsk II treaty invalidated by the Ukraine, a treaty that defined Donetsk and Lughansk autonomy as people wanted in those oblasts, the Vladimir Putin was pushed to corner as he had no negotiation leverage anymore over the leaders of those oblasts to hold off from declaring independence. There was treaty, nothing, to base any diplomatic solution. Because USA and EU made Zelensky cancel those. So Vladimir Putin was forced to accept independence declaration if people in those areas so wished, and they voted again for it, and Russia duma processed it and decided to accept it, that then Russia's president signed as Duma asked.
On that signing day (22 february 2022) Donetsk and Lughansk became independent countries, they were separated from the Ukraine. They were two new countries between Ukraine and Russia. And after that as first signing, they signed treaty with Russia as well.
And that treaty dictates that if either party request military support when under invasion, other is required to assist in defense. It is not weak like Article 5 in NATO, but it dictates to give it and not just discuss about it.
And so on, 24th February DPR and LPR independent countries, requested military support from Russia, that started the special military operation to assist neighbouring country defend against invasion, that Ukraine had doing since 22th February against its two neighbouring countries (DPR and LPR).
The UN charter 51st dictates that any member of UN can participate to cooperation defensive actions by first informing UN Security Council about it. And UN charter as well dictates that UN has no power to deny such from happening, there is nothing in the UN charter to act against such actions.
In other words, UN General Assembly nor UN Security Council have any legal rights to hold any votes against DPR, LPR or Russia.
The Russia informed Security Council by the book, in 24th February 2022 video and as well delivering the message to every Security Council member before the SMO started, it was mere hours before, but it was exactly as the UN Charter dictates it.
      "Article 51
Nothing in the present Charter shall impair the inherent right of individual or collective self-defence if an armed attack occurs against a Member of the United Nations, until the Security Council has taken measures necessary to maintain international peace and security. Measures taken by Members in the exercise of this right of self-defence shall be immediately reported to the Security Council and shall not in any way affect the authority and responsibility of the Security Council under the present Charter to take at any time such action as it deems necessary in order to maintain or restore international peace and security.”
The Russia is part of United Nations, the Donetsk People's Republic and Lughansk People's Republic formed collective self-defense by the treaty between those and Russia. Making it completely by the UN Charter.
Nothing in the UN General Assembly can deny that self-defense until UN Security Council has taken measures for the peace and security.
And this is why UN General Assembly is powerless, because their power is given to them by UN Security Council, not otherway around. The Security Council didn't get its powers from UN members.
And this gives the ultimate power play happen only in UN security council, where all five permanent members can dictate everything until they come to agreement.
And when DPR and LPR independent people decided to hold referendum with couple other Ukraine oblasts, as UN Charter as well dictates them to have that right, and only they have it - to join Russia. Russia accepting those people and their lands to become part of Russia is 100% by the UN Charter and international laws.
There is nothing anyone else can say about it. We - the west, have nothing to say that it was illegal what Russia did, because we have no right to dictate who governs the people living in those areas!
It is exactly same thing as a USA would dictate that who is next Chancellor of Germany! Or that Texans would dictate who is the representative in the French government!
How many US citizen would accept that a UK people would vote who is the next governor of Texas?
We wouldn't accept that, but we don't accept that people in Donetsk, Lughansk etc choose who is their leaders! We don't accept democracy! We do not accept the freedom to those people!
We whine, lie and terrorize about those people so they would obey OUR LEADERS, they would be oppressed to be under OUR LAWS!
That is like a Chinese people would demand that people in New York would obey the Chinese political party!

Although his government is anything but formally democratic, he's really quite a moderate politician. Especially in comparison to a lot of other people. Putin is the same guy who wanted to get Russia into NATO and integrate with the west, on the basis of mutual interest and making Iran a common enemy. So ousting Putin would be extremely stupid.

Putins government is far more democratic than the US, Canada, Uk etc. there’s more freedom of press, how many Russian media outlets are allowed to broadcast/publish in the above countries? None, everything was labeled “propaganda” and shut down a long time ago. In the meantime, in Russia where there’s “no democracy” people have free access to ANY western media. Anyone in the west trying to say anything against supporting Ukraine is being cancelled, the “democratic” government doesn’t allow you to know the other side of the story whereas in Russia opposite voices are allowed to be heard, they go to the largest prime time talk shows etc in the west if you support pro-Russia views - you’re in danger of being sanctioned, your properties/assets can be taken away for “wrong thinking”, in Russia foreigners walk free, do whatever they want without fears they get discriminated because of what their government is doing. A simple example, my government has banned all communication with Russia, they banned to sell to Russia, even banned ordinary mail to Russia. So democratic of them, people can’t post mail to their friends and relatives to Russia, in the meantime in Russia no such bans ever existed.

"Russia was wrong in invade Ukraine." There are many reasons this is incorrect but the most obvious was the Donbass Region. The Luhansk and Donetsk Peoples Republics are Russian Federation and Russia has an agreement to defend them if they are attacked. Forces were building up since 2014 and Russia performed their POLICE ACTION or Military Operation on the 24th February the day before a mission to genocide the Russian Speakers of the Donbass. Ukraine Borders were never declared to the U.N. in 1991 so technically Ukraine is still Russia.

    • @jarkinmalarkin
      @jarkinmalarkin Před 2 měsíci

This isn't exactly true. In 1991 after the fall of the Soviet union a lot of countries voted for their independence and Ukraine is one of those countries. UN recognised Ukraine as an independent country. Yes the area of Donbas was more about being Russian and Ukrainians were horrible to the people in that area. Ukraine was also recognised by Russia before 1991. Stalin tried to genocide the Ukrainians. Look into holodomor. So Russia was in fact wrong in invading the west of Ukraine even if they had their reasons.

perpetual revenging fuels the perpetual war machine economy - took about 100 years to turn ALL the ploughshares of the industrial revolution into swords
it's just math, in the final analysis...got too expensive to support the circular firing squad of UGLY built over centuries of "religion" and rape culture - nature still doing it cheaper with wind, rain, fire and clanging continental plates....wait for electrons and gravity getting involved..."raining cats and dogs"

Prince idea of the Contactor Airforce for Ukraine would definitely NOT have stop Russia from invading.
He contradicts himself during this interview, saying about Russia and the expansion of NATO from 1992.

Can completely understand this, the leader in Ukraine looks tormented but some there seem so oblivious as if nothing has happened, detached somehow. How can this be?
