    Great set up! I just got my cabinet today and I am very excited to get it all set up. Your video has inspired me and gave me ideas that I could use in my own. Most of my plants are in Lecca and within an hour the humidity in the cabinet was over 50% so I am eager to see what it’s like once I seal the doors. But I loving seeing all my displayed like that 🥰

    I have similar cabinets I got from ikea. I use a mini water fountain in each and the humidity stays pretty high. The humidifiers were a bit much for mine haha plus I was worried my cabinet would mold and rot with the top and bottom being particle board. Love the set up with your plants inside! ☺️🌿

      I can’t take credit. I saw it on Pinterest 😆 It gives the cabinet a more tranquil look as well. i just got one off of Amazon. I do have a heating mat in my cabinet. I put my fan on the very bottom and I also used cooling racks for shelves so the air can flow to the top. You can spray paint them white or whatever color and seal them. Etsy also has sellers that’s make custom clear racks with holes. I have a pair in my milsbo wide. That’s an option too. I’m sure you can make them as well. I do have a peg board in one of my cabinets to utilize the back wall. Just be sure to seal it or it’ll start to mold with high humidity. You can also add suction cups and put shelves along the side or those aquarium plant bowls. So many options 🌿

      @@crystalo.9707 LOL well i still give you credit for sharing great tips! Pinterest is so great for planty things & diys!☺ Also - cooling racks as shelves is such a good tip too - for great airflow. Never would have thought of that!

    Hey Claire, I have some questions: how often and for what duration do you leave the door open to air out the cabinet? How high do you keep the humidity? I'm very thankful for any tips as the soil of one of my plants began to mold

  • @jessicakane4697

    How amazing! 😄 I've just recently discovered your channel, I was hoping to find a video on Anthuriums. I have some different varieties in a similar set up actually but I need to upgrade the grow lights. I have some seedlings that are kicking off in sphagnum moss but they're slow. It'd be great to see how you grow them from seeds and how to propagate them. I'm also interested in how your other anthurium went after you gave it a soak in hydrogen peroxide. I showed this to my sister because she grows rare plants and she was skeptical about using hydrogen peroxide as something to help growth. Sorry for the wall of text - your channel is amazing and I love the advice you give 🥰

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  Před 2 lety +1

      Hiya! I need to hone my anthurium content into one specific video, cause it's kind of scattered throughout lots of my chatty vids at the moment. In regards to germination of the seeds, if you haven't already, cover them in clingfilm on top of the damp moss and pop them on a heat mat - it really helps to speed up the process 💚

    I just have to say that the mere fact that you felt to apologize for loving plants that aren’t rare is sad given how the plant culture has become saturated like any other industry. The rare house plant fad is really ruining the house plant culture x experience. Love your plants unapologetically rare or not! You’ve done such an amazing job with them!

  • @sarahbuckley9184
    @sarahbuckley9184 Před rokem

    Great video! Can I ask, once these plants are too big what will you do? Is this cabinet’s purpose to grow plants that haven’t done too well and need a bit of TLC and also plants which you have propagated? Please let me know 😊

    Does your conservatory get really cold in winter? How do the plants react? I moved to a place with a conservatory last year but we have figured out it is too expensive to heat it 😔 had high hopes for plants in there! Can’t go in without a jumper

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  Před 2 lety +1

      It can get quite cold yes - I tend to use plug in heaters and leave a bowl of water on top to counteract the dry air and help with humidity x

      The shelves have gaps behind and in front of them to allow humidity to pass between levels 🙃
