¡Fenomenal, Lorena! I've missed seeing you. A very good review of a very good EV. Consumers with large families, and those who venture off-roading frequently, will love it. I was glad to see that you test drove it closer to my area by heading north to Sedona. I really like the R1S, but it is way beyond my budget, and even exceeds the cutoff for federal incentives when fully equipped. BTW, I especially enjoyed seeing Callas in your car!

7:02 lot more room in that 3rd row compared to our current 7 row suv.
Your camera shutter is in sync with the RGB LEDs rotation, giving the illusion of sustained colors rather than the mix (white) that you would see by eye at higher frequency.

Great video! So which would you chose for a family - Kia EV9 vs Rivian R1S... and most compare GT-line as same price as Rivian Dual but they have deals so more like $66k vs $78k

8:47 yes, can feel the knobs with those off road tires. Get the street tires and buy off road later for off-roading.
I had an r1t since late 2022 and one of my complaints is the wind noise on fwy. Seems like it is still pretty noticeable in ur video😂.

To add automobile insurance to this thing will be phenomenal tesla cost about $600 a month or more. This is for the top 3% of the population

Plus these so called reviewers can't be trusted. They are too worried about not getting invites to test so they fudge their reviews. Just watch MotorWeek. It's sickening, after their last dishonest LandRover review I lost confidence in their honesty. Same lack of trust in a lot of YT reviewers. I'll have to watch more of hers to see if she is amongst that bunch. Not dinging that ugly front end and the risk Rivian will go under leaving owners high and dry is concerning.
@@MGMidget73 yep I agree with you. I made a mistake on the insurance I called my insurance company Geico and was $600 more every six months. So at least $100 more a month for the Tesla. Now I grant you I been with Geico since the 1970s so a new client who knows insurance is out of control today all types of insurance
@MGMidget73 Understandable, I just want to be clear I get my cars from owners who let me borrow their vehicles or I rent them myself. I post my email at the end to ask if anyone has a car I can review.
R1S is the second worst efficiency of all the EVs Edmunds has tested, bearing 2.1 miles/kWh in their largely city biased test (Rivian estimates 2.0 miles/kWh via the EPA). This miserable efficiency (aka poor mileage) is also reported by owners.
Rivian tried to compensate for their massive trucks with massive batteries to pretend their range is good and since there are no tailpipe emissions, consumers assume they're guilt free. But if people move from efficient vehicles to these inefficient EVs, it's counterproductive to the EV transition. Most power in the USA is still from fossil fuel and the move to 100% renewable is very slow and is proving to be much more expensive than technocrats had predicted. So adopting an EV with twice as bad mileage as other EVs, means you greatly increase the challenge of decarbonizing and combatting Climate Crisis, which is the main reason we're transitioning to EVs in the first place. Rivian represents a brand who only produce massive inefficient EVs. Only the Hummer EV is more miserable for mileage.
For comparison, the Kia Niro EV manages 3.9 miles/kWh in Edmunds test. In 2023, I my real world average was 4.6 miles/kWh in our BMW i4. Car reviewers are failing to talk about mileage and efficiency, and instead bad performance is gleefully described as long range because a costly/higher-emissions-to-create battery is supersized. We shouldn't repeat the mistake we made with inefficient gas hogs as we move to EVs. The rest of the world doesn't assume it's their right and privilege to drive massive, oversized vehicles. So why is the USA unique in ignoring conservation and energy consumption?
