You no longer drop out of your glider when you get shocked, meaning you don't get target shocked on long glider sections anymore!
Just like it works in Mario Kart Tour.

You might have missed it but there's a new custom items menu for vs and online rooms! It's pretty similar to smash bros item menus where you can toggle everything on and off! You can even assign certain items to the red team or the blue team, meaning you can host item wars! Similar to vehicle wars I guess. Say red team can only get red shells and blue team can only get bombs! Would be very interesting to experiment with. One more thing it means, you can disable getting coins in the item roulette!!

Kinda wish the maple treeway tree trunks were a bit more curved like in the original on WII because it made the track feel just a bit more difficult sense if you turned bad youâd fall right off, it is what it is
I think that's more on the janky physics than the difficulty of the turn. I think it's a good decision. Wii discourages taking a better turn because you can just fall off for no good reason. It's also difficult to discern where is okay to drive on.
@@micahdavidson1 Yeah wii's physics were really janky at times so it made the turns feel really sketchy on slanted land

Also, the whomps falling on lap 3 on Berlin Byways is a cool reference to the fall of the Berlin Wall!
As a Londoner myself, I find it so heartwarming to see my city being represented in Mario Kart and Troy talking about it! I recognise all the places, I would buy this DLC simply for that track!
And Big Benâs finished restoration work, so no more scaffolding!
Iâm assuming the chain chomp problem is greatly exaggerated in Mario kart as opposed to real life

I love the fact that Nintendo is making all of the GBA tracks basically unrecognizable (in terms of how they play) in this game now.
Maple Treeway tho is my favorite out of them 3DS Rainbow Road being a close second, because they actually made it less jank then the Wii version.
Snow Land almost looks exactly like the original layout with some changes. Sky Garden was changed a lot because it was based on it's Tour version where it was changed to accommodate the mobile phones and the auto steering

im so glad they didnt reveal the reverse peach gardens, it blew my mind when it happened. mid way through lap 3 i noticed the extra track on the map and then the 3rd lap happened and i loved it!
I love peach gardens and the reverse section đ© I was a bit annoyed at them blocking of the start section with fences but when I seen we had to go backwards I was like dammmm

Yeah! Tour has many cool characters and karts. A lot of karts from Wii have returned, like the wild wing, flame flyer, speeder (aero glider), sprinter and more

I have no hope for it tbh. But I need Pauline, Kamek, Monty Mole, Hammer Bros (and affiliated Bros as alts), Chargin' Chuck, and King Bob-Omb in MK9.

Now that we have proof of working halfpipes, I can't wait for DK Summit (DK's Snowboard Cross in other regions) in MK8DX.
Personally, I love when the city tracks get wild with their layout like in Berlin Byways and London Loop. It makes the track feel more like you're actually exploring the city instead of just going through a grand prix.
I agree with Troy on the city tracks. They're a cool idea, but a lot of them feel similar. I also don't like having multiple paths when the game forces you to go a certain direction with giant arrows. I'm fine with multiple routes, but if you're going to have them let players choose where to go (like Yoshi Valley) or force them to certain places with organic changes in the track, not giant projections of arrows.
the problem is that compared to Yoshi valley where all routes lead to the same place, the city streets lead to different places just like in real life, thatâs why the forced arrows are needed otherwise it ends up feeling like a custom track. Also people will just end up choosing the shortest route and never using the other ones defeating the purpose of a city tour track
@@sediew You can force players to different routes, but like I said there are should be a way to do it organically rather than just the giant arrows.

Everyone has been waiting for Maple Treeway and Peach Gardens to finally be remade in MK8 Deluxe! Those tracks are my favorite two tracks in Wave 3 because they bring back nostalgic memories with the music and from my old days of playing those tracks in MKWii! Shoutouts to whoever remade the color texture on Maple Treeway and shoutouts to whoever replaced the âMickey Mouse Hedgesâ with one hedge being surrounded by a piranha plant on Peach Gardens! When I was watching Mayroâs reaction to testing all Wave 3 tracks, she gave Peach Gardens a score of 6/5 for adding a new final lap route on the track! For future reference, I would definitely like to see you compete in MK8 Deluxe 200cc knockout tournaments that include all tracks as well as all Wave 3 tracks, Troy! I would also like to see you compete with Mayro now that all the new wave tracks have arrived! You and I have something in common, Troy: Peach Gardens is our favorite track in Wave 3! Once December 7th (today) hit, I figured you were gonna test all Wave 3 tracks the second they were released!

I noticed the minimap on Peach Gardens and was so curious why it showed another route that didn't look accessible and then... Mind blown.
Didnât know they were coming out so soon - I was delaying getting the booster pass until more courses came out but I think today Iâm going to take the plunge, Coconut Mall + Waluigi Pinball + Peach Garden alone might be worth it
Oh and in terms of the city tracks, I think theyâre cool in concept but all of them feel so similar despite the different locations. Its just driving on a wide road and following arrows, which to me is super boring even with the cool background visuals. Thatâs just how I feel about most of the tour tracks in general though
dude the violin remix of peach gardens is just a thing of beauty. and of course berlin byways always makes me violently bop my head like a mad man, but the best song here easily is 3DS rainbow road. i cried bro its so beautiful. brings me back to 2011.
Tip with Berlin Byways, go through the train cart in Lap 1, you can get a Double Item Box. You can also do a trick off the Whomps in Lap 3 when they're face planted on the ground.
City tracks are so cool and getting little history lessons while racing, the tour tracks are really great to me since I don't play tour
Being from London, the London Loop track was so iconic! The track name itself is a reference to a fairly unknown hike around outskirts of London called The London Loop. Spotted so many landmarks, they totally gave the track justice! P.S Troy, I think you were referring to the London Dungeons instead of the London Underground, thatâs just our subway system đ
19:52 merry mountain is the nicest looking course so far in the booster course pack it almost looks like a vanilla mk8 track
I am so umbelievably happy with wave 3 as the biggest downsides to mk7 and mk8 were the lack of half-pipes so to see even 2 tracks with them in any capacity is AMAZING!!!!!!!

Really enjoyed playing these tracks and this is probably my favorite wave so far, maple and merry mountain were surprisingly fun and I loved the mk7 tracks. still hoping for DKS later in the pass

Peach Gardens blew my mind on that 3rd lap too, I was a little annoyed that they nerfed the flower patches from the older games forcing you to do weird turns, but that 3rd lap switching it up made the track better imo.
I'm still flabbergasted that you race backwards on the 3rd lap of Peach Gardens-

I love the City tracks, I haven't been to many of the cities but seeing the references is really cool. Plus, every single one so far feels unique to play on in 8 and it's exciting to see what they do with them in the future. I can't wait for Bangkok Rush or Singapore Speedway in MK8 since I haven't played Tour.
Plus, I'm from the UK, I've been to London, it was mega cool seeing that track in particular.

I love what they did with Peach Gardens
Bro i just watched Peach gardens and thought they ruined it, i skipped the final lap when i first watched it. After watching it, Holy sh*t now it all makes sense and this track just shot up to one of my favorites in MK8Deluxe.
That second track is soo nostalgic. I remember it on my gba and that tune was so mesmerizing for me now.
I think with 200cc and a little time people will find shortcuts, it happened for the other tracks

Rock Rock Mountain is my favorite Wave 3 DLC track in MK8DX.
Wow Peach Gardens is wild! Even in Tour right now, it still has the ramps by the Monty Moles and the opening circular part is still circular, but they added boost panels on the longer path, so I'm surprised it's changed up a bit from that version :o
Iâve lost a lot on these tracks (I got lost on London and lost from a back red and on Boo Lake due to a shitty respawn point, really hoping next time I play it that doesnât happen) but Iâve enjoyed them a lot despite that. Iâve never been to any of the cities features but I really like the tracks

Yeah, they've been working on restoration works with the Elizabeth Tower for years now... It's a shame, because they only ring Big Ben (the bell in the tower) for special occasions. Once it's all restored and finished, everything will go back to normal again. Also, the London Underground is the subway system, so I presume you mean the London Dungeons?
You somehow missed the Paris Promenade style reroute on Peach Gardens when it has massive red arrows and is on the minimap...

I like the way the dirt road in Rock Rock mountain looks, but the grass, trees, and rocks are lacking detail. It feels way too cartoony, almost like itâs just ripped from Tour.
Iâve got the same criticisms for Maple Treeway. The bark texture looks great, but pretty much everything else looks too smooth.

I was waiting for Troy's reaction to the new twist ending of DS Peach Gardens, and I was not disappointed.
(Personally, I figured it out pretty much immediately the first time I played it, first by looking at the mini-map, and then by noticing the arrow field as I drove by it. Part of me kind of wishes I hadn't noticed until the last moment, though. Oh well, at least I was still surprised by the Piranha Plant and new glider ramp.)
