  • Today I take you through the process, materials, measurements and fitment of my own throttle cable relocation bracket to tidy up your engine bay.
The body of the bracket was made with 25mm angle iron and mig welded.
The shaping and curves of the bracket are just personal preference.
Any questions just ask, good luck!
If you want to see more of the bracket and the restoration of the whole car then you can find me on instagram @resto_nation or on Facebook.

Very tidy, always interesting to see someone else's take on replacing Mr T's bracket 😎

Great video, another question; your metal fuel pressure and return line look relatively new. Where did you get them or are they custom made?

Thanks, I restored the engine bay to get it to look better. I did a full video on it and it’s in a mk1 mr2 playlist on here. Let me know if you struggle to find it.

I haven't got a welder, so I might try making a bolt-together version of this bracket

Nice one 😎. No reasons why that shouldn’t work

Great guide - Far better design than the standard jimi bracket I reckon... Its nice to incorporate the second return spring for sure. Do you think it has changed the feel of the throttle response?

LlewelynTV thanks mate. Should be adaptable to suit your air tubing too. It feels the same I would say. I’ve done a few miles and all seems well. If you drove the car I don’t think you would notice 👍🏻. Feel free to pop down and have a go after lockdown

@@Resto.Nation I'll have another look, I might just do what you've done and make a bracket from scratch... I'm sure there will be a way to reroute the cable as well. It'd be cool to see your car at stone point, maybe I'll blast down after the lockdown at some point 👍👍

Bought an 89 year MR2 a few months back and am sorting through some of its issues. Been watching through your videos and cant wait to give the engine a full detail and get rid of the spider bracket!
Only issue im stuck on is that it doesnt seem to Idle correctly, the engine stalls on cold start every time unless I manually hold the throttle myself and warm it. Once its warm it seems to idle no issue, have any ideas where the first places to look would be?
    Love the content!

Mines exactly the same and it’s because my auxiliary air valve has been blanked off. Wouldn’t have thought yours would have been too tho?! Unless it’s stuck closed or blocked. Try a good second hand throttle body and set the TPS up like I did I’m my video and go from there.

Thanks. Not really, everyone seems to prefer the jimi bracket… and mine might be costly to reproduce. I do think it looks a bit prettier tho 😉😂
