    Thank you so much!!! We were also able to find the parts at our local Lowe’s but we weren’t 100% sure of installation so your video was extremely helpful. Very clear and easy to follow!

    mine is blowing the entire assembly poppet assembly, threads and all, out with a rush of water. Not after I turn the water back on, but about half an hour later. The funny thing is the sprinkler system is off at the control station and source water is turned on. Any suggestions?

      @DIYGEEKTEXAS  Před 4 lety +1

      Sounds right. The water is rushing out because your backflow valve is broken already. The sprinkler controller controls the water flow 'after' the backflow preventer, so it makes sense that it is not doing anything. The water source is turned on and causing the backflow preventer to rush out water, which is correct. I hope that makes sense. If not pls don't hesitate to ask more question.

      @@DIYGEEKTEXAS we replaced the poppet valve with a new one, threaded it in tightly and all. The water kicked on about 30 minutes after we turned all water sources back on. It blew the entire valve (threads and all) out of the pressure vaccum breaker. What would cause that?

    What do these things do? My bonnet broke and im not sure if i should be worried

      @DIYGEEKTEXAS  Před rokem +2

      Backflow preventers blocks water to flow back to the supply pipe. It prevents City's or Municipalities water to be contaminated. If you broke your bonnet, it should be leaking water. You have to replace it.

    How do you cut it ? Could you share ?

      @Henra Iskandar I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, are you from Indonesia? I am not sure I understand your question, do you mean how I cut the broken poppet to remove the damaged poppet? I think I just use a plier and crack it or maybe I cut it a little bit with a hack saw (make sure you don't cut any of the bonnet - the steel housing). Thanks for watching!

      @@DIYGEEKTEXAS It's a small world :) I am not able to take the screw it out and plan to cut it out. Just afraid it may damage the housing. Looking for a video that someone actually cut it out

I tried to find on amazon, but for some reason they don't sell there at good price amzn.to/2qqeoF9 but I found some at other online store like this one backflowpartshouston.com/collections/febco-765/products/brass-canopy-kit-765-1to-1-1-4-300089

      I bought mine from Lowes - the sales guy actually told me about the kit instead of letting me buy a new valve...
