Apart from the audio issues, this is an a good video.
there are no adaptive dampers in this car.

+Adam Maciejewski There are adaptive dampers in the car. What you're thinking of is EDC, electronic damper control. That's what the M3 M4 can be optioned with but the M2 cannot.

It's due to the mechanically enhanced sound through the speakers in the cabin I bet you it'd be awesome to be inside

I remember watching this guy in the M4 vs RC F review and thinking he was the worst ever. Although he seems to have improved slightly, the audio in this video was very poor and I feel Autocar are really still quite far behind it's competitors.
Everyone cooking about adaptive dampers.. c'mon! And it was nice to hear car as well as what he was saying, and no probs with hearing him! Nice cabin angles too!
Lovely car. It's a shame BMW can't make an interior to match the beauty of the car.
Put on your favourite head phones, the commentary is great, but it's just biased towards enjoying the sound of the engine. Great review, thank you autocar!
This car should not be at that price. It's worth $5-7k less, at most. Did you happen to notice the sideways drivers seat? Yeah, they did a little cheating in the seat to get around passing the side collision tests.

In terms of weight, are you comparimg a dct m2 with manual m3?
1570KG that is pretty damn heavy, if you can get under 1300KG you got a beast with 365HP

Get a better mic, and your video will be more easier to watch and listen too.
It was too hard to hear you in this video. I like your videos but I couldn't hear you well enough. It seemed like you weren't talking loud enough or it's the microphone like Ki pointed out. Your voice kept being slightly drowned out by the engine noise.

£46k is a little steep though. You could get an m235i for £34k or pay a bit more and get the full on m4.

Just Chilling lol you don't get British understatement?????? He is actually enthusing about the car, I had one for 7days from BMW as courtesy for my 5 series, it's like a really skittish puppy, great fun, and very quick in the real world, this came with MSport exhaust and sound was very acceptable

+Joseph A They're all getting heavy. The 911 turbo, which is a smaller car, weighs the same. Extra equipment and complying with ever more strict safety legislation partly to blame, I guess.

Matt Prior comes across as a thoroughly nice chap who clearly knows his cars but unfortunately is also clearly not suited to video work. The contrast to Sutcliffe is painful to watch and someone at Autocar needs to put him out of his misery. By all means, keep him on the written stuff but no more video work please !!

All that fake exhaust note playing through the speakers is drowning out your voice , atleast in my E63 it's real . I love the M2 tho.
You should watch CarThrottle review of M2 and learn from them. Obviously, you still can keep your more serious style, but just see what proper editing looks like and what is good quality; also, be slightly a bit more enthusiastic about the car and ideally make reviews slightly longer

Is Bmw back on form? NO! Not with the terribly skewed seating position. Your legs are skewed out to the front corner of the car and not at all aligned with the steering wheel! Had to cancel my order over this.

Put it against an A45 AMG and an Audi RS3 and a Ford Focus RS

It will easily be the best drivers car among them. Maybe not fastest but most enjoyable to drive. RWD (no AWD) and uncorrupted steering. Most of the others are very fast straight forward from A to B, except Focus RS, but RS has a very harsh ride, as mentioned by all test drivers, even on silky smooth Spanish roads, in Comfort mode.

Rear seat looks ugly. Just a slab of leather with a single seam in the middle.
why is everyone praising this car like godsend? look at the interior. it's not much better than your average 3 series. As the exterior, it just look like a cheaper m4.
