    You really can't blame the toy companies. When I was a boy ( which was a lot more years than I want to think about ) a model car mold costs upwards of 100 grand and the model for a sailing ship with a few hundred parts were 2 million bucks in molds. The higher the details the more costly the manufacture of the molds. The larger the scale the cost goes up.

    My first hand experience as a kid realizing recycled reused molds was Robin Hood prince of thieves line reusing Star wars stuff

    The Six Million Dollar Man toothbrush which was used as the Luke Skywalker toothbrush was also later used as the Marty McFly toothbrush for their "Plaque to the Future" toy range.

      I have the Mustafar and the Indiana Playsets..I think it works best for Indy.Just a much better fit.And the collapsible stairway they made for the Indy set is pretty cool

    Sundance kid was played by ( greatest American hero) William Katt. Who was on of the actors in the running to play Luke Skywalker.

    Walmart released a Batman toy line in the late 90's that reused the Batman/Batman Returns figures with new heads and vibrant colors. The Super Powers Penguin was recycle for the Batman Returns Line as well, it was just changed to black and red.

    Kenner was notorious for recycling molds. They did this for their Congo line in which they borrowed parts and molds from their Aliens line. I think they even did this in their Jurassic Park line too.

    Good examples would be the original Beast Man and Moss Man figures and the original Mer Man and Stinkor figures of the MOTU line.

      Yep motu had 2 bodies and 3 sets of arms and legs. The original heads and armor were all that made them different... But Mattel pioneered this with Barbie and still reuses parts to this day

    I've seen a few Big Jim Wolfpack accesorys show up in MOTU (eagle colored purple) .Camping equipment. Corvette, GMC MOTOR HOME. Barbie had versions of Big Jim stuff like the command jet. I think it's 😎 cool.

    I have said it before. Kenner missed a bunch of opportunities., to recycle the deathstar playset. Bat cave, Bespin. Jabbas place, prince jhons tower. Random skyscraper for the super powers line. I could go on.

    Reusing all these parts was probably a smart move. Robin Hood Prince of Thieves didn't exactly send children or collectors rushing to the stores, haha!! Would love a part two to the series.

    While expected, U.S. Agent in Marvel's line just being a repainted Captain America irritated me since he was my favorite. Then when they released his new costume Force Works figure in the Iron Man line, it was super rare.

    I think He-man was the Biggest one that reused the same toy over and over again. They started the He-man Franchise from a Failed Figure line to begin with. They Just Kept the bodies and popped different Heads on the same body

    I know a lot of people dislike reusing parts, but not were we use to it back in the day, I always actually found it more creative than just making an entire new figure. But, to each their own.

    The playsets for star wars were all the same playset just painted different colors. Hoth set with cardboard ATAT, tatooine playset with cardboard Jawa crawler and Jabba place and the Droid factory were the same too.

    Another good example would be Remco’s “Lost world of Warlord” line becoming the A.W.A’s exact body mode with the boots, trunks and even kept the wrist bands on their hands. They actually used a couple of the heads to create the referees. I’m not hating though. I love those figures.

    Everybody knew that Masters of the Universe toys were based on the same molds. It was obvious. Faker was just the most extreme example.

    As a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, I was surprised that it took me many, many years to learn that two of the vehicles from that line were purchased from another company. The Pizza Thrower and Ninja Grappelor were both from another line by Tomy until Playmates bought the rights to them. And they certainly got their money's worth from the pizza thrower since they have recycled it about half a dozen times now.

    Remco in 1980 and 1981 had a line of 9 inch glow in the dark Universal Monster figures that had.crushingbaction and a glow feature,all of the bodies were the same,one was painted to look like Wolfman hair,and the mummy had this silkscreened jumpsuit with the bandages the creature had the same .jumpsuit with the scales print and a few fins sewn on,Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster,Phantom of the opera all had the same boots,I'm sure that the mini monster playset was recycled from something as well

    @That Junkman There was a Kenner Super Powers ''Darkseid'' action figure. But that was actually a (Desaad) action figure. (Desaad) is one of the followers of ''Darkseid'' from the planet of Apokolips.

    Kenners Raiders of the lost ark action figures use the young Butch and Sundance buck giving them more articulation and the quick draw gimmick. I always wondered why Kenner never used it for Star Wars. It would have really helped out the power of the force line stand out from the rest of the vintage line.

      It started out as an orange tiger for Big Jim (white tiger was GI Joe), then a black panther for Tarzan ( who was just Big Jim with a different head and fur shorts) then ended up in MOTU. Mattel got a lot of milage out of that thing.

    Weren't the Tusken Raiders' legs recycled from Obi-Wans? If not, then why not? They're virtually identical.
    Also, I believe Bib Fortuna's coat is the same pattern as Endor Han Solo & Jedi Luke is the same cloak as Prune Face. I think.

    I wish there was a different way to make the panther look smooth without using the flocking method.
    (Flocking being the application to make something look velvety)
    I hate flock, it's fine, comes off easy, becomes airborn .. and it gets EVERYWHERE. :)
    I've always really liked the Azeem figure, that one's my favorite besides the Robin Hood.
    The sheriff looks terrible.
    I could've sworn they made a decent Alan Rickman head sculpt.
    I am gettin' old. :)
    I think the Glamour Gals display would be perfect for The Dark Knight Collection figures.
    Maybe get a replacement backdrop and put "The Dark Knight Collection" over the Glamour Gals logo even though the cityscape looks nothing like Tim Burton's Gotham City. 🦇

    This is a wild card but if they made a figure of barranca from raiders of the lost ark, I have a butch cavendish figure from Gabriel’s legend of the Lone Ranger line they could reuse. And if Kenner were to make a rebel trooper from the first scene of Star Wars, if they released rebel friend, he would be the same figure but red instead of blue. If you want a Kenner rebel figure you can get one at the fans strike back.com, but you’ll have to be a good painter to make a rebel friend.

    I got a ultra Magnus transformer when transformers the movie came out... Already owned Optimus prime.,. Imagine my horror realizing they were the same figure just one was red and one was white. That was their way of continuing to sell off what was left of their Optimus prime merchandise after the movie.
    The trailer was what made ultra Magnus look different.
