      I think whoever signed off on that trade has to cop blame for where the Suns are right now and if KD was one of those people, he deserves a lot of the smoke he's getting right now. Imagine what the Suns could have done to actually improve their squad with the resources they spent on that Beal trade.
      The same thing happened in Brooklyn. The Nets did not need Harden and they actually weakened their team by adding him. KD should not be allowing these crappy trades to go through. He should have the influence to talk the front office out of these terrible moves, I don't know why he isn't using that influence.

Let's go for some superstars. How can we lose? we have Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant. (No Future first round picks until 2029🤨)

      The new mould in the NBA is 2 All-Stars (with at least 1 being an All-NBA player, ideally a top 10 player in the league) and surrounding the two with quality role players. The Big 3 plan severely limits how many good role players you can get. Especially when youre aquiring your stars through trade which means youre giving up assets youll need to bring in role players for those stars. Every team thats won a NBA Championship since the KD warriors has been a 2 star team with really good role players. Toronto had Leonard, Siakam. The Lakers had Davis and Lebron, Bucks Giannis and Middleton, ect.... Pheonix is doomed to fail lol. They have no assets, no flexibility, and 2 out of their 3 stars are injury prone while one could ask for a trade the moment he realizes things are getting tough.

Steph got a ring after he left, the smart thing to do would’ve been to stay with what was working, where was his “logic” then. You’ve been on this post glazing him, but even KD don’t believe the stuff you saying. He chose the path of least resistance bc deep down he didn’t feel like he could get it done as the primary leader of a team. Since he’s left he spent his time complaining, and begging for more star power.
      Meanwhile Steph has won again. Steph is LeBron’s rival for this era. Not KD. Steph is the 2nd best player of their era. Not KD. And KD hates that fact. Bc KD was the unicorn blue chip prospect, who everyone said was going to be the greatest offensive player of all time. The Thunder made the finals and everyone thought they were the dynasty in waiting, KD won MVP and said he was tired of being number 2 to LeBron, they were gonna define the decade. Then a small light skinned barely recruited, point guard that went to Davidson and was drafted late in lottery came and did everything KD thought he himself was going to do.
      Steph smacked him in the WCF. And just as fast as yall say Draymond called KD after the finals, KD couldn’t answer that phone fast enough. He joined em, and thought that his star power and natural talent was going to dim Steph’s light, but it didn’t, and he couldn’t stand it. He left thinking that without him GS was done, tried to recreate it with Kyrie, failed miserably and then he got to see Steph hoist yet another trophy without him. KD is very talented but he wasted it and he’s gonna have to settle for the bronze medal of that era.

      Agreed, he should have stayed in an organization like OKC bc of how well run we are. However, I am of the belief that if KD never left, Sam Presti wouldn't have made his final evolution as a general manager. I think right now Sam Presti has learned about everything you need to know to build a championship team. KD leaving taught him the downfalls of not managing money correctley, how to manage superstars with weird personalities, and how to rebuild a team from former glory. KD leavibg forced Presti to really get creative in ways I think Presti never expected to have to be, that's why I believe in him to create a championship winning roster with this group of guys. If KD never left maybe Presti wouldn't have ever learned those necessary lessons.

  • @ThunderPhant
    @ThunderPhant Před 5 měsíci +7

    I think he absolutely is the proble. He's shown that when you give him input on creating the roster of a team, he doesn't know what works well around him. He consistently wants to play with smaller high-skill guys who aren't good defenders. GSW worked for him, because they had guys like Draymond and Iggy on defense. He hasn't tried teaming with stars who are actually amazing defensive players, and furthermore, he burns so many resources getting redundant skill players - like Beal/Harden- that they can't bring in really good defensive guys around him. A good comp is LeBron; he's certainly made some bad decisions in team-building, pushing for the Russ trade and giving up KCP/Kuzma, etc to do so, when KCP & Kuzma are both probably better players RN than Russ and would've helped the Lakers win more in following years. But on the other side of that, he understands he needs shooting around him, and a top tier rim protector so he can play his help defense roll and kick to open guys, which worked really well on the Cavs teams he helped build, and some of these Lakers teams. KD is clearly significantly less self-aware.
    He's hurt his legacy a lot at this point. Even the only 2 times he won he teamed up with Steph to take down LeBron. #2 and #3 best players in the world at the time, literally on the same team. They were such heavy favorites that placing money on them to win the championship actually lost you money... Since then it's repeated failures and trade demands. The 2022 title puts him under Steph all time, and his frustration in moments like this just make him so unlikeable because we all know he signed off on the Beal trade, and we all know that this Suns roster is as thin and defensively flawed as it is because of the move for KD and the moves that KD actively supported. First round exit at best.

    The thing that, in my opinion, tarnishes the KD Legacy the most is this:
    The GSW won it all before KD. They won it all after KD (with the same core as they had before him). Meanwhile, KD has done nothing but disappoint since he left the GSW. I'm not saying that he's a bad player or anything like that. What I am saying is that KD can't be the leader on a championship team. He's said himself that he just wants to play basketball and he does that incredibly well. But just being a good player isn't enough to be a champion. The team needs a leader, someone who brings guys together and gives them that spark, fire and coordination. That to me is why KD, despite being a more skilled player, will never be a better player than Steph or Lebron. Those guys could lead teams and take them all the way multiple times. KD can't do it once.
    KD"s problem is what I always cautioned my troopers about when I was an NCO. The grass always looks greener, another unit/MOS always looks better. But the fact is that most of the time, at least 50% of your problems in your current situation are generated or worsened by YOU. Fix yourself first, then look to fix what you can around you. If you want to keep running to something else because it looks better, that's just another form of quitting and you'll build a quitter's mentality that will forever make it difficult to succeed. KD is the guy that always feels like the grass is greener somewhere else and runs from a tough situation to what he perceives to be easier, not realizing that 50% or more of his problems are related to himself and therefore will follow him wherever he goes.

      As an OKC fan, I’d forget all he did to us that summer in 2016 if he did it and all would be forgiven. Win a title and hang his jersey in the rafters, however I kinda doubt it. I feel like KD is just gonna finish out the season in PHX or just try to get traded to Philly or back to golden state lol. However OKC would probably give the most back for a KD trade

    Kevin Durant has a similar issue that LeBron had. His talent level and age automatically puts your team in win it all at all costs mode. The benefit that LeBron had that Kevin Durant does not is by and large LeBron’s super teams were formed by free agencies rather than trades. Like in Miami the big three signed there which the team had almost no other talent to make the financial room for that, but thankfully the big 3 took some paycuts and were so damn good it attracted free agents which led to the back to back titles. In Cleveland when LeBron signed there they had so much young talent that when they brought in LeBron and had enough talent to trade for Kevin Love without gutting the roster. Same thing applies to LA, now LA is still recovering from the Westbrook deal as it really cost them a lot of good complimentary talent. Now KD keeps either gutting these teams himself when he’s traded there or has the talent on the team gutted by trading for a star KD wants.

      Nets didn't gut their team. They were just like the Cleveland situation. Matter of fact even stronger. Nets assets were crazy deep which afforded them to deal for prime James freaking Harden. Aaaaaand it would have worked.
      But......Injuries, pandemic, Steve Nash, Joe Harris forgetting how to shoot in the playoffs and ego ultimately became their downfall. Not because the team's roster was too thin because of a big trade for a 3rd star.

      I think lebron just got old, if lebron was in his prime, I think the westrbook team would have worked. The difference is, lebron is a leader (Ala Kyrie) and can get people shit together. Kd is quiet and just expects it to work

Hes done nothing but create drama and destroy franchises in his wake and hasnt even managed to make it back to the Finals. Great individual player, but in terms of basketball history and legacy, I dont know how well hell be remembered..... He did it to himself though.

    Durant's curse is worrying about the credit he's getting. Compare this "me me me" to a guy like Jokic who's solely focused on the team winning. It's not Durant's fault that his new teams have to trade away their basic team strength for getting him, but if he hadn't obsessed over how people view him. he would have never gotten into this mess.

    I honestly think he’ll just take this one on the chin and actually play out his contract there. If you look at the landscape of the league where else could he force himself to anyways? On a side note man how tough is the west this year? Yea it’s always tough but it’s like next level this year because of some of the younger teams like the wolves and thunder taking that next step.

    I find the issue with KD on any team is when a team acquires KD they always have to give up a lot which leads to a team with outstanding offense but no depth which really stunts a teams potential the best scenario for KD is for him to go to a team in free agency that way whatever team he lands on doesn’t sacrifice so much for him

    Kevin Durant has now played with Westbrook, Harden, Curry, Green, Thompson, Irving, Harden again, Booker, and Beal. I'm guessing all of those guys besides Beal make the Hall of Fame. I don't think playing with seven future Hall of Famers and only coming away with two titles, with both being on the most loaded team of all time, is a good legacy. He's going to be seen as a ring chaser.
    I say all this as someone who loves watching Durant play. I also respect his genuine love for basketball and that he's a true student of the game. Every time I've listened to him on podcasts, I've enjoyed his insights and observations. I'm not a KD hater. I'm just laying out the reality of how the public will likely perceive him if this latest move doesn't work out. One Jokic ring will carry 10 times the weight of KD's rings because of the context.
    Is that fair? Maybe not. But that's how people think about these things.

  • @cadrollhunting3564
    @cadrollhunting3564 Před 5 měsíci +1

    The roster construction in PHX is just horrible. They have nobody who can facilitate, all three of them are mainly iso players that need the ball in their hands. Neither KD nor Booker should bring up the ball, yet the suns kind of have to try to make them occasional PGs, which they both are simply not good at.
    The biggest Problem is that nobody defends on this team, and i include KD in that even though he has his defensive moments, but overall his defense is extremely lazy. The craziest thing was recently in the mavs game, where Booker turns the ball over, does not challenge the shot at all during the fast break and then has the balls to scream at his teammates.

    The harden thing is so insanely underrated, they made maybe the best team ever and played 12 games together, harden and KD were great together in the games they had without kyrie, but kyrie made them actually unbeatable as the 3rd guy since they are all great shooters and harden was the only fascilitsting poing guard. Its a heavenly match but harden wanted out too early i feel, he could have given it at least 1 more year i feel Ben rly destroyed the team honestly that trade is so bad looking back, juck.
    KD vision of that team manifasted is super valid
