- We finally got the framing on the mews done! The skeleton is up and the ceiling is on. We are brainstorming a 2-door safety system on the outside, but that won't be built for a little while. This week we are hoping to get the window slats framed out and installed, putting up OSB, and building a door. Hope you join us for the rest of this venture next week!
Oh my goodness. You are now the coolest witch. I am taking my Falconry exam this month. So I'll be watching this a lot for when I need to make my mews.
We tweaked the plans from "The Red-tailed Hawk, A complete guide to training and hunting North America's most versatile game hawk" by Liam McGranaghan. But don't do it 8', cut a few inches off! That way you can use 8' roofing (we used rainbow panels) and have overhang to prevent the wood from getting wet. Also we used elastomeric roof paint instead of regular paint, inside and out.

Oh hey, thanks!
Wow! That's a lot of work, but it's going to be great, when it's finished! Good luck on finishing that up and can't wait to see it all done and in use!! Blessings )O(
Thanks! I'm excited about getting to see a hawk close up but this is his project, really. I have no interest in going out in this heat to look for rabbits with a bird.
lol. I would have to agree with you, there!
