While I don't have the highest hopes for The Starlight, I do like the fact that we're getting more MMOs. The genre is at a point where we need them right now.
Getting more mmo announcements maybe. Seems like there are more mmos in development than ones actually playable. I'm at the point where I roll my eyes when I hear "new mmo"

this developer is not unknown, they've been on the mobile game market for over 10 years, their main source of income "summoners war: sky arena" has been one of the biggest free to play games till this day in terms of revenue
but i do admit, they could've done way better work xD

They thought they were slick, but we've been through this so many times already.
I hope that its combat is like that of TERA in the end. I miss that style of MMO. Also please, no auto-pathing....

I've anticipated this AAA cross platform MMO so much since release :) you wouldn't even believe it.
Honestly any time a game says they're cross platform and mobile is one of the platforms my expectations drop down to basically 0, or in the negatives actually cause I just assume it's gonna suck and not even be average. Few exceptions obviously, wuthering waves looks great.

Tera was one of the best action MMOs before BDO came in and took that crown, so you would THINK Tera devs would have a clue of what they're doing when it comes to action MMOs. Honestly all the upselling of this title sounds like investor-bait more than trying to appeal to players which is never a good sign especially coupled with the NFT chatter. Maybe it has more of a following in Korea, but certainly not the global market lol.
All I want in an MMO is a BDO chassis with Albion under the hood...and maybe ToF window decals.

standstill and auto attack can be fun if they can speed up in animation and running speed....this brings a new indepth game play to an old genre attack mode

Never heard of "The Starlight" before...
I am a beautiful world + pretty avatars junkie, so I keep my fingers crossed for this one.
Until then I stay immersed in my all time favs (FF14, WoW, LOTRO, EQ2, GW2)... and a few obscure oldschool games (Villagers & Heroes, Rappelz, R.O.H.A.N. Eternal Vengeance).

'The Starlight has been highly anticipated by people who don't even know it exists since the beginning of development.' Why am I getting such a strong "The Day Before" Vibe with this game. We all remember what happened there, so don't go getting your hopes up on this one.
I could see this being successful tbh. I don't think MMOs should go too much Nikke tho lol, as the MMO playerbase is way too diverse for that to not be weird.

Unless this game is far along in development it doesnt need to look final cut until its near ready to release or people will get stupid ideas including the board who would want to force release like the early access crowd what is important is the underlying system content graphics can easily be dealt with after.

The characters models scream TERA! Even their idle poses and voice acting is the same. Sadly the " action " combat is a disaster. They got a lot of room to improve before they claim to be a " global hit ".

This early development doesn't give usthe whole idea of what the final product would be.
This could be only a very small part of the game and they haven't finished the whole combat mechanic or system yet.
From what I can appreciate is the model looks beautiful with highly detailed texture.

The moment I saw modern firearms in a Medieval Fantasy game it was an instant skip for me, you can't do that & expect everyone to say I'm fine with that, it's immersion breaking the reason I'm playing Medieval Fantasy MMORPGs is because I really like how the world used to be back then & how people used to fight in an age where modern weapons didn't exist, when you bring modern firearms in my Medieval world at that moment you lost me as a potential customer.

I prefer my women of the slender and athletic type (especially tall, leggy redheads like Karen Gillan). I hate that in games and anime that seems to always get associated with younger characters so much. It's like a lesser version of any petite and slim female must be a little girl...petite women are real! One of my Mum's book club friends is ten years older than me (I'm 50) but looks about 40; a pretty, slender, under five foot 60 year old woman.

The only good combat mmo rpg that i know is literally Black Desert and Vindictus and as far as i see all these years passing is that i am not gona play anything like them ever again sadly....

Having a generic asset-like artstyle in an mmorpg is a tell-tale sign the devs aren't putting much effort into the game.
It really feels like they are emphasizing the graphics over important things, like gameplay. And with Com2us behind it... yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up.
Also, I detest idle animations where characters are wobbling like they're drunk. I find it so horribly distracting, and not in a good way. It makes if feel like they're using old, stock animations... which could explain the lackluster combat also.
Wish theyd stop moving the camera so damn much.
BDO still looks better and the combat is better IMO based on this trailer alone.
They are adding mobile platform... Ok... I'm not against it, but most games with mobile cross platform is either hit or miss.
We're starting to notice many of these unreal engine store assets more and more and is concerning 😟 I Rather stick with the anime style ones at least they try to keep the art and model consistent
ArcheAge 2 looks more "AAA" than this game, and I'm very weary of that game too. Just give me a good B2P MMO with lots of customization, and no Gacha or P2W. Last MMO I played was ESO and I spent like 500 hours in that game even tho the combat wasn't that good.
I feel you're overly concerned that a clip showing off the models/moves, with frequently unplayable camera angles, is merely a clip showing off the models/moves, and not somebody actually playing the game.
That said, not really sure what your complaints are with lack of textures on the skin/hair? Looked like skin/hair to me? (though no tattoos or 6 pack, I guess?)
All that said, marketing speak is marketing speak. Of course it's unconnected to reality.
Tera's action combat could never translate to mobile, throw on the confirmed NFT's. And this is just another UE5 cash grab meant for the mobile/console crowd.
GW2 WvW is still the peak of large scale non-P2W action-combat PvP

The enviroments mean nothing, anyone can do this in UE5, the models out of plays, lower quality than everything else (assets) and the animations show this is made by not more than 1 guy. This should not even been given attention, when more people realise you dont need a big studio to use UE5 we are going to see thousands of games that look like this come out yearly if not monthly.

The character models don't match the rest of the game and it looks really bad. They need to work on textures badly and stop making the models look hyper anime while the rest of the world has a medieval/fantasy setting.
