I always thought it means, that every one got a cake, as symbolism for life but He got one without icing and also as a metaphor for neuropathy that his nerves don't have isolation,...but maybe i am way overthinking

I took it as a play on “the icing on the cake” idiom for something that’s polished, but I dig your take. Just another example of how rad Ren is. Average artists don’t spark conversations about symbolism and the different ways individuals interpret the musicians material. Love it!!!
As someone who suffers from neuropathy, I took it to mean the sugar will set off a flare-up. I love your interpretation, though. So many Ren lyrics have more than one meaning.

"Noah was late for the ark". The main protagonist in the book of Genesis nearly missed his own storyline. I think Ren was feeling the same about his music career when he wrote this (obviously penned before "Hi Ren" blew up the whole internet!).
I read the song as Ren reflecting on the physical and mental health issues that have held back his career; acutely aware of time slipping by; thoughts of ending it all, but instead committing to throwing everything into his career and his art "like Shaquille O'Neal with aggression" (nice simile for not holding anything back, BTW). Awesome song.

Exactly my reading. Ren said somewhere 'Noah was late for the art', and since then I hear 'arc' the first time and 'art' the second.

Ren i believe is influenced by ska which is heavily influenced by reggae and dance hall music of the late 70s early 80s in uk which in turn propagated uk hip hop uk garage and jungle through the late 80s and 90s also when i listen through his library i hear other influences ranging from jazz to house from northern soul to classic rock , which i think makes ren so unlike any other artist out there his willingness to appreciate music as a whole and take it for a ride!

Great reaction! Keep in mind that Ren suffers from a lot of long-lasting health problems as a result of being misdiagnosed for so many years. He's literally in Canada doing intense therapy right now, including rebuilding his neural pathways because he's got brain damage.
And time is an important concept to Ren because he never thought he would live to see 30.

My neuropathy came after a spinal tumor surgery, I've had broken bones, fractures, and head trauma and none of those campare to the pain of nerve damage, it's weird because parts of my feet I can't feel at all and thr parts I can feel are hyper sensitive, feels like those parts of your body are being burned, and it doesn't stop. Great reaction guys

Really interesting to get your perspective on writing a song, thinking it’s great and then re-listening or getting others to listen and then not liking it. This reminds me of ‘Walk on Water’, a track on Eminem’s ‘Revival’ album. He talks about the struggle of creating the ‘perfect song’, thinking he’s written something great, then listening to it in the car and thinking it’s actually rubbish. Well, he's got the lyrics on the screen, so it's hard to miss it when it's right there for him to read.
I know this is super old, but I just wanted to share this tidbit about the smallest unit of time, for your next car ride or whatever. But i kinda have to preface it a bit first. the planck length is the absolute smallest distance possible for our universe, for all intents and purposes, it's basically the pixel of the universe. a planck second is the smallest unit of time. it's the amount of time it takes light to travel 1 planck length. but here's the kicker. these two units are so small that there are more planck seconds in one second, than there have been seconds... in the entire existence of the universe.
I get some random tom Macdonald reminders in a few of his songs. Like the honestly honestly bit. I could be wrong and rens version came first.
Neuropathy is pure hell. I have it in my feet and legs. It's a sensation of numbness, like when you fall asleep on your arm hard, where it's just completely dead when you wake up, then the feeling starts coming back, and you have the pins and needles feeling, and then it can feel like your skin is burning. Eventually you start getting full feeling and your arm goes back to normal...
With neuropathy, you just have the numbness, and the burning, 24/7.
On a good day, my pain level is at a 6/10. And i usually compare it to standing in a bed of fire ants, and just letting them eat at you.
And now that i have it, i understand why my grandpa was always so damn grumpy.😅

Time is a measure of space. Space (3rd dimension ) is always moving and time (the 4th dimension and attached to space)is the measure of movement. Time is also not a constant, it is a variable due to the speed of light being the only constant in the universe. Gravity controls all that is.

Ren has a lot of references to god, or the divine in his work. He often seems to look to the heavens and implore for help or for evidence of the divine. He says he doesn't subscribe to one particular religion but he does spend a remarkable amount of energy thinking/writing about it. My interpretation of the heretic/heathen line is about his feeling like he's lost chances even though he knows he has the skills to be successful, but I feel hopeful for him that he's prepared to even go to hell to fight for himself. One of his skills seems to be to create conversations about god/gods/universal energy and leaves just enough space for each individual's beliefs and interpretation.
Heretics are labelled as such by religious organisations as such if they dissent from their creeds and practices. Thud during the Refirmation Protestant dissenters were called heretics by Catholic authorities and Catholics were labelled as such by Protestant authorities. A heretic could be anti religious or highly religious

I am a diabetic and years of time gone by almost 45 years of diabetic you start to get neuropathy in your feet because your nerves and blood flow and capillaries start getting ruined at the end extensions of your hands and feet
