I didn’t understand a single lyric but this song is so awesome!!!
I want to feel the way this song makes me feel all the time. Relaxed and at ease, tinged with a sense of ambition and sense of purpose. It's something I can barely put into words but this song makes me feel it. This is why Beach House is pure magic.
Now if we can get David Lynch to do something with Beach House.

He picked a similar-sounding band, Chromatics, to appear as themselves in the Twin Peaks reboot a few years ago. So he is into this kind of music, as we saw with his use of Julee Cruise in the original Twin Peaks series. Some other modern bands he could pick in this vein are Fotoform, Wye Oak, Tamaryn, EXITMUSIC, & Cannons. And going back a little over a decade would include Blouse & Tearwave.
Beach House actually confirmed via a reddit AMA that they were invited to perform on the show Twin Peaks: The Return, but they were on tour at the time and weren't able to make it work :(
They said that if they had gone on, they would've performed Elegy to the void
Ten years ago when I was a teenager my dad had a stroke and had to leave his house (used to live there before my stepmom and I moved out). After college when I was 23, I had to revisit his abandoned house by myself to prepare it to sell. I had to clear all his possessions, the house was full of mold and dust and cracked ceilings/walls. It was a very surreal and difficult time. Shortly after that I saw this music video. The iron door in the video is literally the same one from my dads house. His house also had a standing fan in a random room. The synchronicity at the time really creeped me out.. still does..

This video perfectly encapsulates the vibes 7 gives off. The album reminds me of roaming around at night, feeling such a wide range of emotions as I get lost in the magic

You guys' creativity never fails to impress me. It seems like you just can't stop creating songs (and songs that are also incredible and honest like this one!). I think it's what you both said at an interview a couple of years ago, the songwriting process is a flow/wave that you just have to follow, letting the music grow naturally on you... the results are always pretty interesting.
What about that moment where the dissonant layering starts, it sounds like another song is playing in the background!!! What a risky and well-utilized move. The clanging and mismatched rhythm makes it feel like a series of sounds coming straight out of a dream. AMAZING.
Nearly 4 years later... still my favorite Beach House album. And my favorite album of 2018. It captures that dark, yet dreamy sound I love this band for. I'm excited for Once Twice Melody!
Can't think of a single better director for this phase of Beach House's sound. Zia Anger's out here killing it & this song is amazing.

7 is their top record in my opinion. The sound their developed on this album is so heavenly ethereal...it's just my favorite Beach House album.
