I got the Core two year ago and I've been on Cloud Nine playing it ! Three to a side turners I believe have a better balance of tension than the standard six in line which I feel translates to better string to string natural acoustic output balance. I started out putting on a set of 10's, but they just felt too loose so I went to 11's with an .015 B to stay in tune better; the combination of 11 degree tilt on the headstock and the inertia block cast to allow the strings ball end to set in as far as possible, making those medium gauges feel a lot more supple. But my biggest preference between them is the really vintage sounding resonant difference with the core's very porous Alderwood- totally the same as the most treasured, best sounding vintage Fenders ever made !! That sold me the most because that virtue has been my gold standard since I discovered it's benefits back in mid 80's

I have to say I bought the Core. And when it arrived I almost returned it. It wasn't until I had it set up by my guitar tech (local master) lol i have absolutely loved it. The volume knob changes the pickups and the tone knobs also have an impressive response tonally. Was it worth the 2500 bucks to me yes because I bought it. It's amazing to play I also have an SE Single cut that is also amazing but i do notice the difference in tuning The Core Silver Sky is just bad ass. I do have a Mexican Strat with 60's Fender loaded pickguard They are two different animals.

The Core sounds a little "clearer" and the SE sounds a little warmer with a bit more natural breakup. The SE sounded better in the "more overdriven" stuff later in the video. Clean, I'd take the Core. Overdriven I'd take the SE. That said, I think they sound extremely, extremely similar. I would 100% buy the SE over the Core given the massive price difference and the "barely detectible" difference. I would expect the quality of the individual parts and the "feel" is probably pretty noticeably different when playing them in person.

I think the SE has a higher output pickup. The Core is mean to sound like a vintage pickup which might cost more to get the tone perhaps but I defnietley felt some harshness on the SE. The thing is the sound difference is very subtle that you would care less unless you're recording. This goes for most guitars. Both the SE and core can sound shit when your settings are shit but the core would definetly feel better in the hands feel wise.

I also bought the Silver Sky SE Moon White and there are alot little things that are not good on it, but I did work it out after major tweekiing. I like the Truss rod cover off, looks like a core model from far away. Two things I think need to be changed from the Factory in the future are the really cheap saddel's and the poor tuning keys. I bought this guitar because I was so tempted to buy a Core Silver Sky for $2600.00 plus tax that I was sure i would also never play. I have said this before in other comment post that this guitar feels like a toy guitar. If you want a really great inexpensive guitar I really think the Fender MIM Vintage Series from around 2012 to 2015 finished in Nitro are some of the best guitar that Fender has made in the past 12 years and also Fender comes with a whole lot more, like the History of your favorite players and MOJO. Fender's are not toys either, they are the real thing, that is why they are the most copied Guitar in history.

In a mix there isn’t enough difference to talk about. Factor in different pick angle, pick materials, difference in players grip on the neck, different amps, different cables…
Hard to criticize one over the other.

The labour and material cost to build the Core is much higher than the SE. anyone with the budget should take the Core all day. It’s a better guitar in every way.

Nobody on any video tells us why the US guitar would be worth 3 times as much. I don't see any reason for spending 3 times as much. The SE is on the way!!

Ya it seems it would really be more for very small differences in overall sound quality and some nicer look/quality differences, and if you have the money/been playing guitar long enough and want more than a sub $1,000 guitar.

The amount of work is significantly greater on their US guitars… but IMO - PRS is one of the most consistent brands, and the only brand I’ll order site unseen (and not played)… that applies to SE and Core. The QC on both lines is phenomenal. I would never order a fender without seeing and playing it. I’m going back and forth between buying the SE and Core silver sky. I have an SE McCarty 594 SC that is just amazing. Think I’m going to pick up the SE silver sky and save the money on this one… I’ve been saving to get a core McCarty 594.. still deciding between regular and Hollowbody II.
