Noticed not one car with 13” wheels. Most cars had 520 on 14”.

Yep, 520’s on 13’s or 14’s or they had a slight larger safer variant with the 560’s of the 14’s. My stock tires of my ‘74 Impala would be extreme today as they were GR78x14’s..I dropped my impala and had FatBoys of Las Vegas install them but kept my 14’s as I drove to Phoenix, Az. and E.Los and San Jose, Ca. When on leave while in the military. I’d hope, bounce my Mal.Classic when entering the Nellis Main Gate. Caught a lot of eyes, curious, liking and others, well, let’s just categorize those haters as a tad bit Racist and hate filled. E-4 Avery from Vallejo, Sgt. Rudy Salazar from Fresno and I had the only military active low riders (lifted) at Nellis. Two lifted Impalas and a Ch. Mal.Classic. Repping Nellis/Indian Springs Auxillary Station(Now Creech AFB. 80’s repping military low riders back in the, our day.... Do not know if they have drop, lifted rides there at either installation. I’m sure back then, Monthan Davis, Luke, George, Norton and March AFB’s had low and slow lifted rides from military personnel. Hell, our Latino low riders introduced low riders to the Japanese at Mishawaka and Yokohama air bases. Japan took low riding alive and well across their main large island nation! Miss those days and times.... weirdest thing was hearing car clubs in San Antonio when in Basic/Tech/(Boot/AIT) cruising to Metallica, heavy metal instead of Tierra, Smokey, Confunkshon, Switch etc. Never did get that bit but hey, to each their own...

Those were some sweet looking lowriders . Back when the OG's were riding in them handling that business . Think i was born in the wrong decade . Would have been riding in 1 of those had i been around in the 70's . Born in 1974 so was a kid around that time . If only .

:48 that was the original Gypsey Rose which belonged to Jesse Valadez from the Imperials. It was a '63 Impala. later he bought the '64 which he turned into the 2nd Gypsey Rose. Not to many people know about the first one. I was in the Imperials at that time. I rode her a few times. Cragars just began to replace Astro Supreme rims at that time.

@DanteRizo Why do you think Cragars became more Popular than Astro/US Supremes? If I remember right you could buy a set of Supremes for $100 or Cragars for $200 back in 1974. Seems I remember Supremes were getting real hard to find about then. I think they stopped making them for a time maybe. I bought a setof Rockets which we cheaper than Cragars too.

I was a kid back in the 70s but I remember seeing these kinds of cars on a rare occasion. They referred to the late 40s - mid 50s cars as bombs back then and even in the early 80s. It seems like an entirely different era. No obese people as is popular today, and people dressed classier and neater.
