  • A self-described "Painter of Stuff," Scott W. Prior of California (not to be, although easily, confused with the Scott Prior of Massachusetts), wields a mean brush. In this chat with Charlie we take a deep dive into what makes Scott's work so enjoyable, and the mix of studio and plein air that propels him.

Scott is a great artist with top ability and also a very fun personality to paint with and learn from his workshops.

Always a good discussion with you and your fellow artists! Nice to hear an intellect articulate!

Great episode! I don’t paint those genres but love seeing them done so creatively and skillfully. What a treat.

Thanks so much! The great thing about liking others painting styles is that it relieves us from having to learn how to paint like that.

That was a reasonably fine art talk today- thanks! And a little reasonably fine smugness tossed in for good measure.

As soon as I said "I did two pretty good paintings," I was like "uh-oh."

@@CharlieHunterArt Not you. It was the throwing the “little horsie” painters under the bus. So not cool. You may say that to each other in your private conversations, or in trad art school environs, but shows a really elitist art people vibe to others who come from other experiences. Not a great vibe for what I understood from your content.
