I used to get my hair highlighted like this back in middle/high school, but I had shoulder length hair. It hurt like hell every time the woman would pull the hair through the cap. Eventually I stopped getting it done, as it wasn't worth the pain/money and didn't even look good anyway.
I remeber when i was a toddler and my mom would use sometuing EXACTLY like this to color my grandmas hair. Im 24 now. This is nothing new. Seems grandma was ahead of her time
