- Hi Beautiful! I've been seeing cap highlighting be done lately by everyone including pro hairstylists. I wanted to do some research today and see what all the hype is about. Cause girl I have not touched a cap highlight since the age of 8 and I never thought I'd see it come back again.

My dad was not a hairdresser but said he would have been if there wasn’t such a stigma around male hairdressers in the 70s/80s. He used to do my super blonde hair & regrowth and he never messed it up once!!!! When I started going to the hair salon (he was socialising heaps and I hated bugging him to do my regrowth) I was so disappointed. My dad missed his calling.

my dad was a hairdresser for 10yrs when I was little. he still does my hair at home and he only ever uses a cap on me. it's never failed us! 😊😊
Right?? My mum is a hairdresser as well and used to do cap highlights on me and they are my absolute fav! I have multicolor ones now so she has to use foils, but i really love that little natural hint of "random" when it comes to cap highlights, they just look so much more natural to me.

@@justignoreme5842 Color with developer in it caaaaaan lift color, occasionally, depending on your hair. But it's not reliable like bleach. It's even more likely that it will damage your hair, but not budge your color.
I helped my mom with her cap highlights from the time I was a kid until my mid twenties when she quit highlighting her hair, and I just have to say: just because Brad doesn’t understand the cap doesn’t mean someone who has learned can’t tell where the hair comes from and make it really nice. He’s always shocked when cap videos turn out well and I’m like “it’s cause the cap makes it easier to do it on yourself!”
No need for the cap in salon. But it makes it so much easier to get a certain style of highlight at home without hot roots, and you actually can control where the hair comes from and it looks super nice.
Also, THE CAP PREVENTS HOT ROOTS.
Pretty sure that’s the main purpose of using a cap.

I had a stylist charge me $220 to do a an ugly lob and cap highlights that ended up being so close in tone to my natural hair that you didn't even notice I had it done. She talked me out of getting the highlight color I wanted that would show up because she said the tone she put on would be more "natural." Yeah, I came out looking the same as I went in, just a few inches of hair shorter and minus $220. :( The worst part was that I originally had asked for baylage. x.x At least these DIYs turned out better!

I did this to a friend’s hair and she wanted a “natural sunkissed” look. It took me 4 hours pulling out itty bitty hair clusters using that damned hook & cap. It looked amazing when finished & she was thrilled while I was worn out. She wanted me to do it next time but to quote The Raven, “Nevermore.” 💋

Honestly I absolutely love Brad. He’s so damn funny. And he’s never mean about anyone, he shows you can critique whilst still being kind. So I’m glad he’s what so many people are watching. He cracks me the hell up.
This makes me nostalgic. I have many memories of my aunt “frosting” grandma’s and my cousin’s hair in the kitchen with those caps.

I love cap highlights, we used them so much when we were younger. I still love the look of them, it’s a super awesome way to change up your hair drastically but not have to damage all of your hair.
