A star wars set would have 3 Minifigures and a price that's increased by 40%
People are saying that this set is overpriced, but it has just as much value as the widely loved Barracuda Bay.
Barracuda Bay had 2545 pieces and was 199 USD. That was three years ago though and we're in a recession right now. With inflation, BB would cost 236 USD if it was released today.
Elderado has 2509 pieces and costs 215 USD.
Everything is just getting more expensive, and it sucks. But that's life right now :/
No, 10320 does not have as much value as 21322.
In PoBB at $200 price point customers were provided with all sorts of ammunition (cutlasses/machetes/axes, flintlocks/guns, various agricultural tools, daily use items - all of it), supplies (pineapples, cherries, bananas, coconuts, cookies, baguettes, numerous bottles of wine/rum/water, crabs, fish - u name it), fauna (pig, sharks, parrot, fRoGs as well, kek) & flora (flowers, seashells/barnacles, greenery of all different kinds).
Eldorado Fortress at $215 price point doesn't contain even a half of everything Barracuda Bay offered. So yeah, I suggest you stop counting the overall number of parts and actually have a look at what does the piece count in both sets actually represent. In PoBB it represents a ton of useful items. In EF it represents pretty much rocks only.
To be fair, barracuda bay had a lot of massive pieces and to my recollection is a more massive set. There was simply so much more in that set being that it could be either an island pirate fort, or an impressive pirate ship, or (kinda) both. This set's main value is probably the nostalgia and accuracy to the original which, for those who never had it, isn't important. Price per part is not an accurate way to predict value. Some of the sets with the worst value happen to have the best Price per part ratios.
This is such a cool set! I built the original when I was a little kid and loved it. I’ll definitely be grabbing this for the nostalgia

The original was $66 in 1989 which comes to about 170 in today's money. So I think it's about right considering this one has more to the set.
This set us really nostalgic, but I think it is definitely a bit overpriced.
It's a tad small
This one is an optical illusion, where people only see the white and yellow fort. A lot of the cost/value comes from the grey base bricks.
It looks gorgeous but that price is so hard to swallow

I have the barracuda bay and this set would be perfect to go well with it but at the $215 price, it doesn’t even come close to the same value as the $200 Pirate Bay. Sad I’ll have to pass this set.
I think people are underestimating the set value. It’s got very rare minifigures with the blue colour imperial soldiers, the set is modular and can be rearranged into anything, and the bigger boat is rather neat and a fine addition to the set. We could have gotten just the fort and that wouldn’t have been as good. The piece count is 2509 which makes roughly 0.09 per piece which isn’t the worst price per piece. Some people dislike the absence of the raised plate but I think it’s fantastic as a built version and well executed. I’m very tempted to get the set but there’re other sets with icy are equally pricy that I may wanna get. The price could be more affordable and if Lego wants us to buy more bigger sets they must refrain from forcing us to decide which expensive set to buy. However, the set is fairly good value for the price.

I feel like Lego NEEDS to make some smaller icons theme sets it would be nice to get $20-40 icons sets focused around the classic themes or other sets (but at that point they may as well bring back classic themes but only realease a few sets each wave as that seems like the direction Lego preffers). They have to be missing out on a LOT of money from not making any smaller sets in these icons themes.
@@autofigure00Oh absolutely. They can't all be $200+ monstrosities that only people with a second bank account can pick up. They need to actually make sets for everyone. Especially when appealing to the old nostalgia and not just big models for display.

I love the set, love all the details, and loved every part of its construction. It just depends on the eye of the witness
So many cool sets out right now and unfortunately many are already headed for retirement. I just recently got back into Lego and just found out about these Pirates/Castle sets. I wish I could get them all but it’s just too much money…
Would love this but unfortunately missed out on Barracuda Bay and feel like I’d need both. Also like the Viking Village. The set I want the most but don’t think I can pony up the cash is the 90th anniversary Lion Knights Castle which is done at the end of the year. I’d buy used but the collectors market for Lego is ruined. Everything just goes up in value with no period after it’s not available to grab things cheaper like you used to be to.
My god their pullin the strings the same way their tryin with Star Wars. Nostalgia and old sets brought back crap. Lego in the 70s would be rollin in its grave.

They did the same thing they did in the lion knights castle where majority of the soldiers are female, which it isn't that big of a deal, just swap their heads, but still inaccurate
I guess it's supposed to be in a fantasy world where female soldiers existed in the 1700's. I still think it looks very weird to have so many female soldiers in the set lol
The smaller boat does indeed float as it is one moulded piece just pointing it out as i thought he would have knowen that.
I didn't even know this set was on shelves, and bought it today on a whim; very excited to build :)

This set will probably go well with the lighthouse.
Thought that myself, I have the lighthouse and added lights to each of the 3 levels as it looks sweet. Going to look into this further. Cheers.

It’s didn’t get the same love as the lions knight castle which is a huge bummer but I do like it it’s just not as good
Personally I love it. I think it is a little expensive though. But I have a soft spot for pirate sets and especially pirate ships
It's a remake of one of the most iconic pirates sets ever. It's totally awesome and a must buy. Stick to starwars as that seems to be what your passionate about.

... or if you missed out on buying it in your youth, it's the only chance you have to buy Imperial soldiers to fight against either the Baracuda Bay or 3 in 1 pirate ship that came out. Because Lego doesn't make sets for kids anymore.

I just built a 2900 ish piece technic set. It was only $110 so I think this is not nearly worth $215.
but lego technic also utilizes a lot of really small technic pins which is why they are generally fairly cheap

@@nickkakavo75 Ok. So you are paying 70 plus dollars for just a base when you could have made a an elevated plate. Just beacuse the designer wanted to make intricate with an elevated ramp.
I still do not see the value, of how this is practically half a Deathstar.; Being the last one an STAR WARS branded product.And therefore an inflated price tag than this set because of royalties. Even then it does not feel worth it.
@@enolquindosgonzalez1900 LEGO doesn't make elevated plate molds anymore and i prefer it that way since its all bricks now. Plates could break, bend, lose studs, get discolored etc and ruin your set. Now the worst thing that can happen is lose a brick that is easily replaced. The pirate ship that we have now, the one that is 3 in 1 set, the haul is full of bricks and not 2-3 big parts like the old ships. (on the other hand it doesn't have cloth sails but that is a different story)
