Ah! Absolute live saver! I received this as a gift in 2014 from my grandpa when we visited him in Michigan, I used it whenever Christmas came about, of course, we eventually moved and its been sitting in storage in some plastic containers. Now flash forward to this year's Christmas, we're hosting. I had the brilliant idea of setting up the polar express under the Christmas Tree. It was either going to be this one or another polar express that was merely battery-operated. The Lionel one ultimately won due to the ability to puff out smoke as all the relatives will be amused by that. Not to mention the lionel one fits in better with the Christmas Village.

Thank you for your detailed review. I’m not a collector and don’t plan to be but I’ve been trying to decide what train to get for my husband to go under our Christmas tree and couldn’t find any info on the differences between the sets besides their size and I was trying to decipher which set was of high enough quality to last (I was trying to find out if any had a metal locomotive). I don’t know if the other sets have the details of this one but I feel confident purchasing this after your video since I know what I’m getting.
