Beautiful documentary guys. I found it looking for information about Waterloo Region, I'm on an immigration process and I was thinking of settling there with my wife and little son.... Now I have no doubt. Thanks from Cali - Colombia.

Let me just say WELL DONE! This documentary was a wonderful watch! I don’t live in Cambridge - Kitchener - Waterloo area but I did grow up along the Grand River which brought me to this documentary but I stayed & watched the entire hour because it was educational, informative and entertaining!
    Good job!

Fascinating documentary not just about how the ION light rail has rapidly shaped the Waterloo region landscape, but also about the region's rich history and unique approach to city planning. Watch this film if you want to be reminded why Kitchener-Waterloo is such a gem and how fortunate you are to live here, or why you might want to move here.

This rail system is way too slow. The former bus service was faster. This has to be considered a failure.

Halifax needs something like this in combination with bus rapid transit desperately, we're growing at the same pace and roughly 450,000 currently

This rail system is SO SLOW. The bus service from Fairview to UofW or Conestoga was faster than this line. So what was the point?

Great video! I'm glad you touched upon the History of this amazing Region. That being said. I hope one day we get beyond our City Egos so Waterloo does't think it's better than Kitchener and Kitchener stops playfully picking on the already amalgamated city of Cambridge...who still refer to themselves as Galt, Preston and Hespeler. I do foresee a great mega city one day when we truly are one Region. I'll always vote for the name Berlin if it has to come to that. I also hope the people responsible for the upward growth and expansion don't forget that "low income" sometimes just means working for minimum wage...or a living wage. Rent has taken an insanity pill and I truly wonder if I'll be able to "afford" to live here in 10 years...and yes I'm gainfully employed at $16/hour. Some of us just want a home to live in...

I watched and it's pretty good overall, technically and visually. However, in all that's said about the character of the Region, NO significant mention of the arts -- community bands, choirs, theatre groups, dance troupes, etc., many of which go back to the late 19th century. Also no mention of earlier tech industries like Electrohome, and too many short interview "slices" with too few people. I give it 3.5 stars out of 5 in terms of what it aspires to but an A for honest effort.

This rail system has cost my city millions and has taken quite a few lives already. Has turned the city into a dangerous traffic nightmare.

The train isn’t killing people. People are getting themselves killed by not following basic traffic safety signals, risking their lives to save a few seconds.
