This rail system is SO SLOW. The bus service from Fairview to UofW or Conestoga was faster than this line. So what was the point?
Let me just say WELL DONE! This documentary was a wonderful watch! I don’t live in Cambridge - Kitchener - Waterloo area but I did grow up along the Grand River which brought me to this documentary but I stayed & watched the entire hour because it was educational, informative and entertaining! Good job!
This is amazing, very well thought out I’m learning so much about the region.
The accent super Newfy
viewing this now................. thank-you Waterloo Region. 7-8 years of life in Kitchener-Waterloo. thanx a lot. much love! :) m.
Beautiful documentary guys. I found it looking for information about Waterloo Region, I'm on an immigration process and I was thinking of settling there with my wife and little son.... Now I have no doubt. Thanks from Cali - Colombia.
This rail system has cost my city millions and has taken quite a few lives already. Has turned the city into a dangerous traffic nightmare.
The train isn’t killing people. People are getting themselves killed by not following basic traffic safety signals, risking their lives to save a few seconds.
cars cause accident deaths. rail and bikes and walking reduce car deaths
amaizing story ! i love it ! Rom , from Iceland .
stupid narrator accent
i was part of the construction team..proud of it..we knew we were going to make a change...all the people were passionate about it...nice video...too
Great documentary showing the history of Waterloo region and the development for the ION LRT. This deserves more shares.
K-W is and always has been a NAZI dump! Horrid place.Burn it all down.
WHAT IS THIS SONG IN THE INTRO ITS BEAUTIFUL <3
Great little video! We did a video on our channel when the ION went live! Got a great reaction from the community! Great job, keep these video's coming! 👍😃
Halifax needs something like this in combination with bus rapid transit desperately, we're growing at the same pace and roughly 450,000 currently
Someone could put their eye out or lose a finger on most of these. Shouldn't you surround them with barrier arms and incessant klaxons to impede pedestrian access? We are all helpless children after all.
This is such a well done documentary, I VERY much enjoyed this <3 <3 Thank you! Makes me proud to be a part of a growing economy in this community.
i realize I'm kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Yehuda Rex Flixportal :D
Very cool video TJ....Im very glad I was part of the team that built it for the Region.
I watched and it's pretty good overall, technically and visually. However, in all that's said about the character of the Region, NO significant mention of the arts -- community bands, choirs, theatre groups, dance troupes, etc., many of which go back to the late 19th century. Also no mention of earlier tech industries like Electrohome, and too many short interview "slices" with too few people. I give it 3.5 stars out of 5 in terms of what it aspires to but an A for honest effort.
Great video! I'm glad you touched upon the History of this amazing Region. That being said. I hope one day we get beyond our City Egos so Waterloo does't think it's better than Kitchener and Kitchener stops playfully picking on the already amalgamated city of Cambridge...who still refer to themselves as Galt, Preston and Hespeler. I do foresee a great mega city one day when we truly are one Region. I'll always vote for the name Berlin if it has to come to that. I also hope the people responsible for the upward growth and expansion don't forget that "low income" sometimes just means working for minimum wage...or a living wage. Rent has taken an insanity pill and I truly wonder if I'll be able to "afford" to live here in 10 years...and yes I'm gainfully employed at $16/hour. Some of us just want a home to live in...
Fascinating documentary not just about how the ION light rail has rapidly shaped the Waterloo region landscape, but also about the region's rich history and unique approach to city planning. Watch this film if you want to be reminded why Kitchener-Waterloo is such a gem and how fortunate you are to live here, or why you might want to move here.
This rail system is way too slow. The former bus service was faster. This has to be considered a failure.
Pulled the heartstrings. Miss home now. :(
the guy sounds Irish accent :) :)
Great documentary all. It pulls it all together.
Wow; thanks. :-)
Yay
Eh
Thank you so much for providing this. It was beautiful!
Who card about ION..it is all Kitchener How about Cambridge.....☹☹☹☹😀😟😀
What a wonderful, perfect day! <3 Any chance you could publish a clip of the piece that the KW Symphony's brass quintet composed & performed ("Fanfare for ION"), when the first train launched?
Will there be a full video of the opening ceremony?
Can't wait to try it. 😁
What is not ready to July 3? I do not care but that new ION
I hate public transportation so will never use it. But if it works and helps the area that's a plus. Cambridge is next I guess. Going to have to avoid some areas for a while.
Can't wait for this!
yes, yes, yes, yes
And another YES!!👏🏻👍
At no cost.
Yessss🙏🙏
How many delays? Reasons for the delays? Cost overun?
Common cause of Delays were winter seasons
Bombardier deliveries.
Congratulations to all the hardworking teams that have made this possible!
