I was sifting through some rotary tool videos to get some ideas for what to use them for, and I can't believe how many 15 minute videos I came across that gave 45 seconds of actual useful information. Your video is by far the best one I've come across so far, and I just thought I'd let you know you did a great job. It presented your creation well, and it didn't include unnecessary footage. It was nicely cut and edited. Solid work. Thanks for the great idea and quality video.
You literally have no ideal how greatful and excited I am about this. I have literally spent the last month begging people I have come across online who have made their own to make me one and I'd pay them as the stew Mac one is to expensive for me and I really needed one for my Dremel. So excited about this. I cannot wait to give it a try! Thank you so much!!!
+Michelle k Wow, what a great comment. Good luck!
This is the first/only video I've seen of yours but it's clear you're amazing. Uploading videos like these is an act of kindness to begin with but the quality and accuracy of the filming/editing/graphics, coupled with a fantastic and minimalistic idea is really helpful. Especially for someone like me who has owned a Dremel for about five months now and has yet to use it because I'm not exactly sure how to go about things the best way. This accessory is a perfect example of what I feel I need to make use of it. Thank you.
Wow, thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you found the video helpful.
I can remember when a 3 1/2 Hp router was the thing to have. All of them have downsized, and with great success. It's items like this, that make something like a Dremel into a woodworking MONSTER. Awesome post, thanks.
Simple and easy solution for a very complex problem(how to guide a router), I was looking for a router base since last two years, many youtuber made very elegant and professional looking bases, but your's is simple and it works. Thanks for sharing.
This is really great. I have a dremel kit and was about to order a router, thanks to your innovative and informative video I don't need to buy one. Thanks again. Please share more videos like this.
I must applaud you, your video is very easy to watch. Let me explain what I mean by that.
So many people post poor videos that are not thought out. Adding a voice over to follow step by step instructions is less disrupting than hearing background noise of a TV, children or a squawking bird. Taking the time to write a script and recording a voice over is hands down more pleasing to the ear than listening to the constant "Uh, yea" or "Umm". Believe me, I know that from personal experience. Many years ago I was on the radio talking about my then business and listening back to the audio tape was horrific, I must have said "Umm" at least 30 times in 3 minutes.
Thank you for sharing your skills and your delivery of how to duplicate them.
+TheVelvetteButterfly I'm glad you like the way I make videos. I really appreciate the compliment. Thank you!
Thank you for the plans. Good to see someone sharing their ideas. Pass it forward everyone!
Great!!! Im going to use it to put an inlay on my gate pickets. I plan to put this ivy-ish design in a metal powder inlay or maybe thin copper tube inlay. This route seems to be a good route for getting a uniform depth on the inlay.
if you used reletively stiff springs in place of the bottom nuts, you would only have to turn the wing nuts to adjust it. the only downside is that you would not be able to lean on it(leaning on it is stupid anyway though).
One of the easiest Dremel homemade accessory instructions I've come across. You've just saved me about $30. The best part is the final dust collector enhancement. It beats the original. Thanks man! Thumbs up!
I'm glad you liked it! The dust collection is really quite nice if I have to say so myself.

I just got the materials and built my self one of these and I love it. So much fun to play with and works great for mortise get hinges for my jewelry BOXS I make, every woodworker needs to make one of these.
That's awesome!
These bought new are REALLY expensive! So thanks for saving me a ton of money! Really nice video. Subscribed.
Oh my god that’s genius!! I am going to make this and modify with a little arm so I can cut circles! Thank you!!!
Very nice idea.. I was about to buy a router. Now I will use my Dremel instead ...You saved me ....
excellent workmanship, so clean, Thanks for showing how things can be done in a clean way :) Inspiring too.
Congratulations for the soooo easy way to help us save money with this super useful router base, thanks a lot of blessings from Puerto Rico, Ray!!
THANKS for the free plans ~ classy! This is a great, easy, fun project - can't wait to get to it. Outtakes = *giggles*
Awesome video and Dremel Router Base. Thank you for the plans. This could be used to route a broken headstock on a Les Paul guitar to make the routes for the mahogany splines. Fantasic work and video. Thank you so much.
Perfect thanks! If you needed a shop vac attachment, maybe try using ultra flexible 3/4" silicone tubing for the first 6 feet or so, then attach it to the shop vac hose. Keeps it very maneuverable. Make sure the tubing being used does not kink easily
I love your idea for the Dremel Router! Thank you for your idea, and for your time in explaining. Oh, and when I d/l the plans, your 'take-out' video was hysterical! I really like a person who can share his foibles and laugh at himself! Thanks again.
I'm glad you liked the video/project/outtakes :)
Great project !! Simple, Efficient and fast. Congratulations!!
Just what I was looking for to help control the cost of my current project. Thanks.
Nice design and clear instructions. I actually bought the Dremel router table only to find out that it fits almost every model Dremel except the one I have. I may try to adapt your design to a table.
Great instruction...and the out-takes were fun to watch. Cheers!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
I have to make something too, no one supplies it as far as I know.
I built a clamp for a Bevel bit after it nearly burned out my drill. They require too much pressure and do not have the accuracy and take 10 times longer. Bevel's are not suited for drill's. After I built the clamp and rotated it by hand it was amazing how quick it works and I can put full pressure on it. It aches the hands though it saves your drill.
Good job. Liked the added measurement graphics. And laughed at the outtakes!
Thank you for the build vid, my wife just bought me my first dremel (3000), loving it so far.
Will definitely be trying to build this!

I have seen a lot of videos like this... A LOT. But this is by far the most useful. Great video, dude!!
Thank you, I'm glad you like it!
Loved your presentation man.... Nice project, simple enough for amateurs like me. Thanks for the video.
It's a simple tool, clear and clever. You shared a very good idea. Well done.
Thanks!
Very nice video! Thank you for making it. I liked your idea of using a piece of wood to push the piece while using band saw.
Nice build. Saw this and adapted to my B&D Wizard rotary. Works great. But now searching for best bits to use for scribing.
You could also copy another feature from commercial routers and that is a fence on two rails. the fence can also have a pin so you can rout circles. This is a very nice DIY project. At the other end of the spectrum, look at the Veritas plunge router base with all the accessories. Best one yet.
Great video. now you have a brazilian fan.
Congratulations and thank you for the tips.
I'm glad you like it. Thank you!

That was awesome. I hope I can put this together and start to get some use out of my dremel.
Another simple and yet great idea. Thank you so much for taking your time to explain it.
Muito obrigada
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Very helpful. I have an other brand rotary tool.
I think basically all are the same but I probably need to make some adaptations.
I'll give it a try in a week or two.
Very nice , simple , straight forward and well conveyed - and it works !!
Parabéns! Simples e eficiente!
This is awesome! I will try to make one, even though mine is only a Dremal wannabe!

Subscribed.
Muy buen trabajo man. Felicitaciones.
thank you, thank you. I have been looking for away to use my Dremel to cut fret slots in the finger broad. This will work great with the jig I had made, but found I could not control the depth of the cut.
You're welcome. I'm glad it will help you.
I loved this video!. I just have some simple inlay work to do and it doesnt really justify spending money to get a ready made one, if I can find one that fits my Dremel clone at all! Hey a stand is a stand, and you've shown us the way! Thanks for sharing!
This is an older comment but it may help someone. I built this jig for my Hypertough (Walmart) rotary tool. It has a standard metric thread M18-1.5. The steel nut for it cost me $2 at a local industrial supply store. I epoxied the nut into a 1" hole drilled in the crosspiece.
Wonderful project, thanks for the plans.
Used your templates and made the jig in under one hour. Thanks!
Awesome!
Great 👍 video. I liked the bloopers at the end. Keeping it real lol 😂.
Excelente y fácil de hacer, felicitaciones

+Makify1 what video editor You use?
Adobe Premiere Pro CC
i know Im asking randomly but does someone know a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Johnny Abdullah Instablaster ;)
sweet design! I'm gonna make one myself, but maybe use springs underneath the platform that holds the dremel, so I can plunge it, and plain rods instead of threaded ones of course.
Your video made me subscribe immediately! Loved the idea!
Absolutely awesome thanks. Just an idea- what about putting wingnuts above and below the wood cross piece- would that make it easier to raise and lower the Dremel, this being able to do deeper cuts.
One part of the process that can be improved: when drilling countersunk holes, drill the widest, shallowest ones first, so there is still material in the center to hold the drill bit tip when you drill the narrower holes and the through holes.
cool vid man! i just bought a dermel tool for projects. just as a hobby..see what i can make..first timer
Thanks for sharing this idea. It's exactly what I was looking for!

Love it...Need one my self...Thanks for sharing
Great video, deserve a thumbs up
Thank you Makify, you save my money :)
Interesting idea!
Thank you for the video!
Nice Job, I'm impressed and subscribed
turned on it's side, lowered all the way down, it is a biscuit joiner joiner, Positioned with something under your project for the Dremel to match the side of your project, cut for biscuits. Works great!
Ooh, that's a cool idea!
Im a little old on the like but I liked it and subscribed :) I liked the bloopers as well!
Nice!! I have a similar nut and thought of making this kind of device but I've never actually needed it so far so it was on my waiting line! cool to see it done! :DD I was a bit worried about being wobbly (back and forth) but yours looks steady so I might try that soon! thanks!
+Cactus! workshop If I give it some force I can get the base to warp a little bit. A thicker base or a piece of wood in the back connecting the two sides would fix that issue. I haven't noticed any flexing in use though.
Excellent build!
Great great video... Last 20 seconds are hilarious !
Great idea great project! Thanx for the plans! : )
I liked as well as subscribed. Thanks for allowing the download.
Thank you!
Great video. I printed the plans and I am going to make it soon.
