- Hey guys! You've been begging me to do a house tour for at least a year, so today I'm finally sharing our tiny house with you! And I even included bonus before photos so you can see how much we've transformed our home! You made it so cozy! Great job. In Europe, this is a typical sized home. It is always about making the best of what you have. You don’t have to have a huge home to make it homey and functional and aesthetically pleAsing
Dj 912 Sent hi Dj, I’m from Canada and just wondering how children are raised in the normal or tiny size house in Europe. During winter days, is their sufficient space to stay inside? Just asking cause my wife and I started off with a tiny home and now we have two kids. Just not sure if we need to move into something bigger
J-ster I'm european and we never had problems with staying inside in a "smaller" house. It means we all get to spend more time together in the living room for example. And yes, in here it is normal for kids to share a bedroom :)
Lovely. This is about an average size house/apartment in the UK. Houses in America are generally huge compared to the UK. I was watching thinking this doesn't look tiny 😂.

Yeah I found it very annoying each time she called it tiny. A study just found that average house size in England is 71.9 metres squared which is about 774 square feet making this house just below the average for a whole country, probably on the average if they include the basement. It just rubbed me the wrong way.
Aly MNW I felt the same way. You would think she lived in a real tiny house. She just said the word tiny way too often. Mention it once: allright. But tiny kitchen (mine is like half of hers), tiny dining room... etc etc. Wayyyy too often
I don’t think she meant to say it as often as she did but, I can relate to her point of view on a small home because I am a new home owner and having lived in a bigger home prior to getting married makes my current home seem smaller not that it is very small but in comparison to most homes in the U.S it is. Everything in My home is literally steps away from each other. But, I have come to love the coziness of it and the closeness I have to my husband and my my baby boy. It was challenging at first but now that I’ve lived in my house for a year I’ve learned to love every little corner of it and maybe what she meant was not tiny in size but rather small because of the closeness of everything. It’s hard to explain when your comparing a home to a condo or even an apartment because they are designed to be small spaces/homes.
I guess I just understand because I felt my home was small at first now I’m attached to it and just see it as a blessing to even have a home of my own.
Haha this is so weird as a non-American - "our tiny, tiny house" this is a full-sized home where I come from lol

A lovely home. You and your husband have done so well at creating a cozy, clean, and functional home. A sanctuary. It begs the question, “why would we need more?” I read many comments from the UK and Europe about the appreciation of small homes vs the large homes in North America. Kudos to all the amazing young CZcamsrs showing the way to living simple and elegant lives that promote peace of mind and living within one’s means. PS. I am a Canadian living in a small home in comparison to the huge homes that my friends and colleagues maintain. “Maintain” is the key word. I love “caring” for my small home myself. It’s not a chore because of size that requires hiring someone else to clean.

People who have homes in a city suburb tend to have those 3000 square feet homes and six figure incomes. The other possibility is a house that size in a really bad neighborhood or even in a decent neighborhood in the Midwest or south. Location. Location. For example, you can buy a small mansion in Detroit, Michigan, but it may not be worth it. A small apartment in a nice part of a large city may be more ideal for some people.
I think your house is the perfect size for a young family. You guys have put so much love and work into fixing it up and making it your own.

I loved the tour. You have worked wonders with natural light, wood tones, organization and color scheme.The word tiny is relative. This is a tiny/small house for most Americans. It is hard to find good video tours of houses this size that aren't built on a trailer.

A tiny house is just perfect, cleaning is much faster ;) And I like your kitchen in as you call it hallway. This will make your hallway into a family room when your kid gets older. We got this here and we love it!

You’ve done a lovely job with your home. Thank you for sharing it with us. I have many projects still to do in ours, it’s true that it’s seems to be never ending. We don’t really have plants in our home (with three cats and three kids...yeah... doesn’t work, LoL). Though I think I need to add some fake ones in to give us that “fresh” look.
I’d love to see how you did your kitchen and your daughter’s room. It’s great that you do things on a budget. I shop for most of our things at the thrift store or online through the fb marketplace. With one income, family of 5, and living in California it seems to be a must.
You have made your house a lovely home, i used to get frustrated when my home needed this and that done, but over the years homes evolve with our changes and its nice to swap and change things, most of my furniture is second hand but it reminds me of the people who gave me those things how generous they were, i wouldnt want a immaculate home time has taught me to fill it full of laughter not possessions love Jacqueline

For your bathroom tiles, an easy and inexpensive is to get them glazed in the colour of your choice (instead of re-tiled) -you're looking at $150 - 250 with a professional. And the best part is glazed until tile, this easy to clean until tiles and it holds up forever.
