TIPS for watermelon from a tropical girl. :p
    1) Pick a few up and feel the weight.
    2) It should feel heavier than it looks.
    3) Tap it and it should sound hollow and vibrate on the palm it's resting on. The more hollow sounding, the juicier.
    4) If a watermelon is harvested when it's ripe, it'll have a lighter underside (reason why the uglier non equally coloured ones are better :p)
    Hope that helps! :p

Hey Delilah! Use the app Flip when you go to Walmart or anywhere that price matches. You just search for the item you're looking for and it will tell you where it is on sale in your area. You can clip the coupon on the app and show it to the cashier for matching. I use this all the time at Walmart for things like groceries, shampoo, deodorant etc.

To make veggies cheaper, I generally hit up a farmers market (Season permitting, I do live in Minnesota, so I generally only get a few months of it.) Generally I can get things in bulk for much cheaper, and end of season I can get a ton for very cheap, as most people want to get rid if the excess they can't use. If I can't use it right away, I either can, or freeze it for another day. Also for quick meals, chopping up things like peppers, carrots, peas, broccoli and cubing up some chicken and putting it in baggies (keeping the meat separate) and just using that as a quick stir fry is very nice and very healthy. I agree with you on the deep freeze. We have a smaller one and it is always full of things. I reorganize and do an inventory every couple weeks so I know whats left and plan meals based on what I have.

I follow a very similar meal strategy for my family too. Being organized REALLY pays off in Canada. The main principle I follow when looking up recipes on Pinterest is : try not to choose recipes that have a ton of “weird” ingredients I won’t get use of. I choose recipes that have mostly ingredients that I can use in multiple ways/meals and that won’t go bad before I can make use of it. Or, I just substitute similar items: ie) olive oil for avocado oil, etc

I think having the basics on hand is so helpful for not splurging on take out. I also will pick a flavor theme for the weeks dinners to avoid being bored. I can/jar/freeze a lot from our garden for the winter. Or when I find a good deal. I need to do a no buy month here soon to cut down on my pantry levels tho. I know that may not seem ethical for all families but it does work for ours and honestly, I’ve noticed that I end up spending less! I got this tip from Jordan Page on FunCheaporFree.
Also, when it comes to pre packaged food and if you have the time, buy all the ingredients you need to make the dish (like the burritos) that way you can control what’s in them and save a ton of money.

We go to aldi and food lion for extra stuff, and get our groceries every two weeks. We don’t have hardly any storage, but I can get food groceries for our family of 5 no babies for 250$ every two weeks. I also order from amazon the subscribe and save for toilet paper, paper towels, dog food. I used to do that for diapers and wipes as well.

Finally a realistic grocery shop! That converts to about $25 NZD which sounds about right, we spend around $250-300 per week for a family of 5 but we don't necessarily go for cheap bulk.

We are vegetarian, so fresh veggies are important. So I always make sure I go grocery shopping every week, since things like mushrooms don't stay fresh. I plan dinner for the whole week and whatever other small item we need, then only buy what's on the list. We have rabbits, so the only time we go back out is to pick up fresh veggies for them.

Wow! Me and my boyfriend go through about 500$ a fortnight worth of shopping. We live in New Zealand and the supermarkets are slightly expensive. Especially healthy food.

I plan my meals and then I look up all the prices of the groceries I need on superstores website and I know exactly what I'm spending! Also superstore has partnered with the app flashfood. They offer foods that are nearing their best before date for 50% off! I saw organic milk for under $4.

Hi! Thank you for all of the tips and thanks for your amazing videos!!! Did you know that mint can lower your milk supply? I replace mint with lemon balm that increases milk supply. ;)

I only have space for a mini-fridge with an even smaller freezer inside, so I can fit exactly one portion frozen spinach and two fish in there :D wish I could have more storage

3:03 I had so much fun 'big haul shopping' with my parents when I was little (at BJs tho not Costco). Eloise brought back so many memories of it. Seriously my (then) three siblings and I had a blast, so much so that my parents stopped going together so that one of them could stayed home with some of us since we were too distracting and too unruly XD

You should make sweet and sour (chicken or pork) stir fry! Omg it is so good! It takes a while to make but it’s really worth it! And if you make a big enough batch at one time then you have lunch for the next couple days :-)
For the orange sweet and sour sauce we use Western dressing, sesame seed oil. You can add honey or brown sugar as a natural sweetener too! Thin it out with soy sauce or water ☺️

Invest in a bread maker! Ingredients are super cheap and the machine does it all from mixing to baking, just dump in the ingredients and wait!

hey!! not really a tip, but could count as one. you should start a small garden out in your backyard, it would save a lot of money because you wouldn't have to be buying all of the fruits and veggies from the store. plus, im pretty sure eloise would love to help with it!! we do this already and it's a life saver, recently are we just picked off some pumpkins and were planning on some pumpkin pie. but you can really grow anything, strawberry patches, tomatoes, peppers, ect. we also make our own salsa so we can make it how hot or chunky we want. it's really great!! much love from the us, this comment was rushed~

I do groceries once a week and meal plan around what’s on sale. We have 4 kids and spend on average around $250-$300 week. We live in Montréal, food prices and the taxes here are outrageous.

Sarra' Khaled Maybe try doing 3 parts baby oatmeal with 1 part oats for a while and then gradually go half and half, 3 parts regular with 1 part baby, and then eventually all regular oats.
