Senior Fitness - Seated Resistance Band Workout For Beginners

  • In this workout, we’re using resistance bands to help build strength and flexibility.
    Using resistance bands are a great way to add strength, and variety to your workouts. If you don’t have bands you can always follow along using just your range of motion.
    This workout is completely seated so you can feel comfortable as we take you through motions that incorporate your full body.
    From upper body movements to lower body movements, this is a great way to stay flexible, relaxed and feel accomplished.
    As per every exercise only do what you feel comfortable with and avoid pain or discomfort. Never force any movements and only use a range of motion that best works for you.
    Also, don’t forget to take lots of breaks and drink water.

    Hi Meredith. I tried watching another Senior Fitness leader do resistance band for beginners and seniors, but she never allowed any kind of time to stop. I would say anybody over 70 probably could not do her routine. I'm 79, and yours fits the bill perfectly.

    This is perfect for me! I'm not a senior, but I'm morbidly obese and just starting my weight loss journey and I find a lot of exercise videos to be too strenuous for me.
    I love how you thoroughly explained everything and went at a slower pace. I actually found it to be relaxing and I feel really good now.
    This is just what I was looking for to get myself started. I will check out your other videos. Thank you so much! ❤

    Thanks for a great video. I do the routine with my parents who are both in their eighties. It’s just the right level for them and they find the instructions easy to follow.

    Thank you so very much! I like this and your 10 minute video but this one really is slower to understand correct posture. My rheumatologist recommended resistance bands and this is perfect. Love it!

    I have RA and 65 this routine is perfect. I don't feel my joints are put into too much strain going to do this as part of my routine 🎉

      Hi! I buy in 10yard rolls and cut to size. I make it my arms length so I have extra when standing, wrapping, etc. I hope this helps.

      I am new to resistance bands. what should be the strength of the band? I had a total knee replacement 3 months back. I am 69 yrs.Muscles of my arms have become loose and legs too after the surgery. I stopped walking after the corona pandemic.
