My DLS has worked from day one and I love it! It was explained to me that there was a bad batch of paint at the same time the DLS was released. Speaking to Carl at the tech booth for Dye, he gets a DLS in that supposedly won't shoot at all. He fires it up and it works just fine. It's just one of those things I guess.

Dye released one of their best guns ever in the DSR+ then followed up with the lemon DLS. I’ve always enjoyed Dye stuff but man the DLS was such a let down.
I've been a longtime viewer. I'm from hamilton ontario. I usually play at soldiers of fortune paintball. Took 10 years off from 2012 until 2022 now I back at it. Seems like u did the same as me lol
3-4 years off when I was living and working in Des Moines. I knew in my heart that I would need to come back out West to reconnect with Paintball and get the content flowing again.
DLS for sure over the Triad. And, The Halo still holds a spot in mech play. Unless you're using a rotor, you're going to outshoot your Spires, CTRLs, etc if you have a spicy trigger setup.
Aftermath refused to use the Triad loader...
Imagine paying nearly 2k for the newest dye gun and its a dls..sounds like a nightmare...dye should recall or do a marker swap option..I would be fuming if I got one

I agree on your mention of the dls. I had a DLS all of 4 hours and returned it for an lv2. It was a blender. I really wanted to like it. No matter the settings, it was rough on paint.
Dye wins simply because the marker is the bigger cost that most cant afford to swallow and then everyone needs to sell these pieces off online further fanning the fires of deceit and mistrust in the world... with the loaders it's mostly just an L for the original less costly purchase, but doing teams dirty definitely warrants a dishonorable mention.
The 180r is certainly an impressive design, and I agree more bang for your buck compared to the CS3. I was so excited about its release I bought one. I enjoy playing with it, but I am still unimpressed by Planet Eclipse when it comes to the trigger design they have recycled from the CS1, Gtek 160 and 170, Geo 4 and LV2 and now again slapped on the 180r. I hate to say it but the trigger feels like garbage. I shoot my CS2 Pro and Shocker Amp more than I do the 180R because I dislike the trigger so much. In my opinion PE should put that CS2/CS3 trigger on every marker....its arguably the best trigger design in paintball. But I know this gripe is entirely a preference thing, and I recognize the 180r is an outstanding marker.
Actually the reason why I sold my 180 for a CS3. I couldn't get used to the trigger, even trying different aftermarket triggers like the deuces, scythe, etc. It just never felt right. The CS3 ergo though is at least in my opinion way better than the 180r. For the price point though, the 180 is a steal.
Buy a duece trigger? Took my duece off my 170r and slapped it in my 180 *chefs kiss*
@@cynicalwolf9334 I have a deuce and scythe - still not impressed. It’s the design of the whole mechanism the trigger shoe attaches to. It just feels cheaply designed compared to many other triggers on the market. With $1000 price tag now I just expect better. The 180r is great but a used CS2 is still better from an ergonomics perspective and it’s trigger is fantastic. Just my opinion.
Trigger has a gritty feel imo. Like could physically feel resistance in the pull, and the side to side slop. I put a deuce on mine and while it helped it still wasnt great. If cs2 and 3 werent so damn ugly id prob of gone that route over the 180.
No mention of the Trix? Feel like that and the pipe were extremely big, also feel like it’s a better shooter personally.

Dye already has terrible resale value so can you imagine any new model in the future, most will stay away except the hardest of the core audience for Dye. This mistake will end up costing them big $$$ and they will need to make sure any future design has to be tested to the max and give them away far below Planet Eclipse guns. Yikes.

Sorry about the job brother. Try delivering for Uber, Door dash, etc.. until ya find an awesome job. I’d stay out of paintball as my primary source of income because it has ups and downs. Just my 2 cents but keep your head up brother ✊
The most disappointing thing about the DLS is $2,000. And it's worse than the m3+
The JT triad verses the dye DLS is apples and oranges. I don't think the DLS is the worst, but it is a huge disappointment.
So sad about the dls...i sold mine and lost a butt load on it but got enough to buy a dsr+ so ill be aight
The dls is exactly like the NT. I have a 07 proto with upgrades, haven’t really seen any new guns that shoot any better. I’m not a fan of guns with no lpr, yes it’s simple, but anything less tune-able is less than optimal.

It makes me sad to see Dye falling off when it comes to quality. Yeah, the original DMs could be a little finicky with the weather, but once you got the thing greased and set properly - they were a dream to shoot. I really think things started to slide when they killed off proto.

I think their only saving grace would be to leave taiwan manufacturing or find a better shop to do future work. Theres a divide somewhere in either communication or between fye and the shop itself. Maybe its complacency of the workers... but quality needs to be sured up on the manufacturing end for sure

I'm gonna vote triad. Dye will fix the dls problems in the end, it's gonna take some time. I'd buy a dls but even my dsr+ has had a ton of issues so I'll pass. It's just mech only now and I've sold off the electronic frame and just plan to keep it like that forever. I also filed down the mech frame.
I've had the best luck with DLX and PE. Personally the Ice and tm40 are my favorite guns still. Just got a vanquish gt cause I'd never shot one, really the axe platform should've gotten AXED (LOL) and they shoulda kept the vanquish platform going with the v16 bolt and change the body, reg, and milling. I see why they did though, so they don't take away from DLX making such a similar platform with the wireless body connection and the pivoting frame being the successor to the tool less body post ice. Really I'd have preferred DLX and Empire to both do different things. The icon is about to be a let down if it's just an era bolt in a dlx and not going to a new style engine entirely. Losers haha
What happened to your Dsr+?
@@MichaelSaunierthey had a couple issue that the IM pro kit fixed. The Mech frames needed an updated spool and a spring behind the trigger pin.
I've heard the Luxe requires a permanent tech on standby and was given the PE recommendation.
and it leaks randomly. I've had to replace o rings multiple times on the same spot to get it to seal up. Had to replace the spool o rings after just testing out the mech frame, the im kit posts and gasket didn't work and the noid would leak between, and then after fixing most the issues the sfr started leaking out of no where. Didn't even touch it. Whenever I'd switch back and fourth between frames there'd be a new leak. Idk why but I just kept the mech frame on and left it be. I do have the extreme weather kit on the way. @@mramseyISU @MichaelSaunier
I'd say the DLS was more disappointing. Kinetic KMP pack and the Project GS3 were my favorite products this past season.

Tbh been a dye fan ever since dm12 and hell I even loved the old Proto reflex rails and now shoot an OG dsr but man that DLS release was horrible. I’ve seen some sold for 500 on Facebook. Fucking crazy lol
Plant Eclipse hasn't always made good products either, Every company has a failure at some point.

I think people who had paint breakage problems solved it by just bumping up their eye delay time. It's just set too low from the factory. Modern hoppers aren't very fast.........so if the gun cycles too fast you have a problem. Any gun will have the same issue if you lower the eye delay time too low. I suspect the guys(and sponsored teams) at Dye are testing their guns with rotors......the fastest hoppers in the game. Which probably eliminates or seriously reduces incidents of this kind so they never caught on. I've never owned a DLS however so I don't know if there is another underlying issue.
Dls was most disappointing- triad was boring and only had 1 job. Dls could have opened the door to some great future technology.
I bought the dls and had to wait 2months to get it and all it did was break paint then the v2came out it still broke paint I traded it for another lv1.6
I voted Triad.
Sure the DLS is a giant flop, but this was all on a limited drop marker on an Engine that isn't their own design. The Triad was meant for mass production and shit the bed entirely. All GI had to do was update the Z2 into a Triad shell and it would have been great. Some of their loaders fed backwards 🤦♂️ the bar is so low for a hopper that even HK can do it in between their cocaine line breaks.

Idk I think the halos are a fine loader if it ain’t breaking paint there shouldn’t be much complaints and on top of that there using a halo too not the B and it was the go to loader and I still think it is because it’s cheaper that other loaders but I get it when the saying goes you can’t teach an old dog new tricks😂

That's totally fair. Working in the industry made me happy. Nothing is more gratifying than spreading my paintball knowledge. I need about another $800 just to make it through this month. Gig economy work is a possibility but I have worked my way up a corporation before. It just wasn't fun.

180R. yea, a midlevel gun that is setting the bar super high.
Just wanted to drop by and say my DLS is amazing. The triad though..... GI cant make a high quality product besides paint. As for CS3... the cs1 was ugly, cs2 ugly, cs3 ugly. I had a 180r but it had a phantom problem that PE basically called me delusional when they teched it. The marker once it it got over lets say 5 or 6 bps would drop off. Like literally first few shots would go full distance as one would expect but then as rof got faster the paint literally would shoot shorter and shorter. It was to the point that I wasnt even able to shoot across field and when I was shooting at ppl on the move the paint was dropping 20 ft in front of them. I thought it was shootdown except over the chrono the numbers were fine. So at my field the chrono range has objects marked out in distance bc of both mag fed and airsoft players it allows them to dial in their shots. First shot or 2 could hit the 50 yd target, as it was shooting in full ramp the paint would be bouncing into the 40 yd target hitting 5-8' or so before it. PE said there was nothing wrong with the marker but couldnt explain what it was doing so their opinion was it was a tank reg issue. Except 5 different tank regs from 4 manufacturers were used and there was no change. I also know 3 ppl who had 180s that from the factory two had huge gouges in the bolt can out of the box. Another had marks going along the can and on the bolt surface like one would see if there were a build up of debris causing rub on anodizing except it was new. Imo the lv2 is the best thing eclipse has made in years but even then they effed it up by cutting corners with cost by making a modular board set up which increased the size of the frame and grips. Those made the ergos on that marker so bad I got rid of mine after first practice with it. I absolutely loved everything about it besides not actually being able to hold it.
The DLS was a giant pile of trash, sounds like a 12 gauge and cost 2 grand. As far loaders go just buy a spire or Dye rotor . Laser eye system for spire is bulletproof, id put their IR 2 against anything, you want consistent 15+ bps use a rotor.

Getting blackballed by the paintball industry is understandable because of what you’ve mentioned and brought to life. Repercussions were always going to happen.
People still supporting Gi is insane to me. Their paints mediocre, the people who run the company are miserable to deal with, and their products are shit. Name another company handing out a product from 2001 to their teams because they can’t make a relevant product..
Anything GI fucking sucks 🤷🏻♂️
