Brad is the most honest person in Paintball for reviews
It's because he's not selling the stuff he reviews
@@dartanprince6260 I mean dye products are pretty good, but their markers are pretty mid compared to other stuff on the market.
I've bought two guns based on his recommendation. He's a fantastic figure in this sport. He should be getting more coverage
Brad is like the MKBHD of paintball, beautiful cinematography and great in depth analysis along w some personal opinion
He’s the only content creator I see that actually reviews a product. Anyone can read the spec sheet, all these retailers posting “reviews” are just reading the marketing material.
The 180R has moved the Gtek comfortably into the high-end category. Not only that, but it's easily a contender for the best paintball marker on the market right now.
I was 1 160r fanboy, even guys with cs2 liked the GTEK platform.
@@Brofessor17 had the original Gtek, then the 170R and now 180R.
Yeah, but also in price...
We really appreciate the videos Brad! I get excited when I see you release a new video. Thanks!
Appreciate you too 👍
Keep making great vids Brad!
You got it 🙏
Brad, I hope you one day decide to further your understanding of paintball marker function so that instead of just saying that, "this shoots smoother than that", you can explain *why*.
That would be a much appreciated added dimension to your channel, as there are not enough *technical* channels in this realm. QT Paintball pretty much holds down that segment.
FYI - operating pressure and its impact on feel and sound is vastly overblown. There's a lot more going on under the skin than that.
I can't agree more. 180r is a great choice 💯
yep! definitely a great high end choice
Just in terms of price comparison it’s insane how similar they are.
Except in price
Cost $200 to make these guns along with a barrel kit to go with it. PE, Dye, and luxe are taking the consumer to the cleaners lol
With DYE releasing the same backs but in even numbers. lol Great stuff for barrel consumers.
Thanks for the content and honest reviews!!!
Grabbed my 180r two months ago. Still getting used to it. I love the way it shoots.
This is why PRML is my go to for gear reviews. Why? Honesty.
Appreciate the work and quality Brad.
loved the review man. Love the verdict at the end lol. "its....really gud" .
Thanks Brad !!
😮 180r is a great option 😊
just getting
back into the sport after being gone since 2008. the reviews of the 180r have me drooling. Too bad im poor, oh well. love the review non the less.
i have shot a lot of guns and so far my favorite to shoot is geo 3.1 and cs2 just because they feel so nice and light and also are just dead accurate
i LOVE how snappy the 180r sounds
I gave buyers remorse on my Dye dls, so im thinking of selling it and getting either a cs3 or either the 180r or the dye dsr+ so these vids help somewhat...bc now all the high end and low high end/ upper mid level..all basically perform the same..love your vids dude
Me too. I have a dsr+ and took a gamble on dls and just dont like it. But 1750 on another marker doesn't sound like a thing I wanna do.
@alexanderfrey3874 i ended up buying a dsr+ with a special colorway.
Stars and stripes. Now i have 3 markers with the American flag motif. The m3+ 1776, a bob long vcom with a stars abd stripes pattern, abd now the Dsr+. I got a more than fair trade in on my dls. But still lost money...but hell i dont care. I dont miss it...the dls..
My CS3 is a bit softer shooting but my 180R is damn close. It’s really just the difference of internal volume between the two.
I love my 180R! My first marker was an Etha 3, so it wasn’t hard to make the switch. I use it more than my AMP and TM40.
Was it notably better than the Etha 3? Currently been playing with an etha 3 and I love it. I'm still deciding if its worth going to the 180r
@@slyrez it shares many similarities with the etha 3 but it’s slimmer and feels more sturdy with its metal design. Having the screen to adjust the marker is a big improvement and the new barrel system is worth the additional price. The bolt on the 180r is new but still easy to take apart like the Etha 3. I would highly recommend it as an upgrade especially since you already have the Etha 3.
@@808Paint I also have an Etha 3 and I am looking to upgrade. For the price difference, would you say going to the 180 over the 170 makes sense?
Guys I to have the etha 3 and I love the gun I have no complaints about it but I just want to have 2 guns and I think that 180R is my next upgrade 😈 I love paintball !!
Just picked it up. It’s awesome❤
To be honest, I like my cs2, but the LV platform is my love wish it had a mech frame. But if I had to choose one, I like the shot of my viking best
I have a CS2 & an AMP.
Considering picking up a 180R.
I'm thinking about the infamous version, but if I spend $1,000+, I would just go ahead & grab a CS3 🤷♂️
Can you compare the 180r and the geo 4. Please ..
Looking at barrels for the 180R planet eclipse with a dye UL-I insert or hk lazr
Both great, you can’t go wrong with either.
Ahh new S63 barrel utilizing freak barrel system tech, but it's new guys!!
Let’s hope you’re right, I just bought one I get it Friday lol
I’ve owned both and I prefer the ergos on the cs3, I don’t think the cs3 should cost $650 more but I def like it slightly better
I own a CS3 only difference between the 180r I’ve noticed is the CS3 has a better screen.
180r doesn’t even come with the extra buttons 😮
Could you do some vintage reviews
I just got to try out my cs3 and its the best thing Ive ever owned.
My cs3 comes right after my AA book lol
What high end tournament marker do you think is good for someone just starting to get into the tournament side of paintball?
Probably this or maybe the new Shocker ERA, they are both really really good values compared to higher end guns like the CS3 or Luxe.
Brad, personal gear question- are you using the 180r now as your main shooter instead of the Geo4 that you were shooting? Or at least, your last “my set-up” video was you shooting a geo4
I did have the geo4 for about a year, but nearly ever time I need to sell the guns after I review them. I mainly use an Emek now if I’m not using something for review. I think I’d rather have the 180r over the Geo4 though.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife appreciate the reply and info! Thanks, Brad! Trying to decide on my set-up for next season, but no reason to choose until after Cup. There’s definitely gonna be some new releases. As it sits though, I think my DSR+ is best for ICPL and NXL. I’ve got the IM kit and the FreeFlow Misfits upgrade, and it just shoots butter darts, haha. Would love to see a mech frame release for the Force though. I don’t mind weight, especially with a marker that’s so easy on paint. It’s hanks again, man 🤙
Large hands as a personal problem lol!
Shocker amp used best value
What camera are you using?
Three different ones in this. Insta360 One RS, GoPro Session 5 and Sony 7C.
1:26 for sound comparison
I’d say planet is the Meca of paintball right now. It offers everyone an excellent gun at all prices.
I totally agree all these new PE markers shoot so good it's not funny ! PE is the way to go for a marker !
Love all your videos sorry i called you a gen z lol i am new back to paintball after a 10 year break wish i never stoped so much fun. I appreciate all the videos i watched of yours to help me paintball literacy and know what i should buy going back in
You got it. 👍
Etha 3 baby!
🔥 🔥 🔥
The Etha 3m is the best paintball gun ever made. #comeatmebro
I think this is proof that more expensive is not better. The mid range at this point is up to par with the high end. We are basing everything nowadays on very minute metrics and things are becoming trivial. Go out and play with whatever marker you got!!
You bet!
Ms actually does effect bolt speed. If im ready to fire the next shot before you are then my gun is faster and I can put paint out there before you can. Which means the gaps between balls is smaller. At 10.2 bps paintballs are shoulder width apart. Make the bolt faster and ready to fire, you put the balls closer together making that chance to slip through the gap lower.
cS3 operating pressure on the bolt is lower so he's going to be a smoother bolt side, and it's adjustable so if you really hate the time and effort you can sweet spot that gun beautifully. 180 are has a slightly higher operating and it has one less point of adjustability.
So realistically if you find that the 180 is shooting better than the CS3 it means you have to adjust the CS3 to get it where you want.
It's like buying a really nice suit off the rack, or buying a suit from a tailor. If you don't have the tailor make the alterations to the suit is perfect for you you might as well just buy one off the rack.
I've shot essentially all three of these guns, an out-of-the-box CS3, a properly tuned CS3, and a 180r.
Four ninety-nine percent of players the 180r is perfect. Picking up the CS3 isn't just getting all the nice little features, it's also kind of require you to know how to utilize those features correctly and how to adjust them.
What can you adjust?
The high pressure reg?
Explain to me your tuning process of a Gamma Core marker to noticeably alter the shot signature.
You can’t tune the cs3 lol
@@derektodaro6362 You *can*, but there's not much head room and it's beyond the scope of the average user (valve sensing orifice, valve spring rate and a couple other things that I do to my personal Gammas).
And what I mentioned above has no bearing on how the marker shoots or sounds, assuming it's tuned within a properly functioning window.
man for me spoolies are too smooth for Xball! everytime i use a luxe or Geo and switch to my old egoSL94 or ego CSL it just puts a smile on my face hearing that bolt and hearing that: ta ta ta ta sound is so Xball!
I hear ya lol. I actually prefer the way the CS3 shoots because it kicks more.
To me, who is an outsider to the paintball scene, all of these look the same to me.
No hate please. I would love for you to explain it to me.
I won't be the first to say that marker technology feels like it has plataued. At least in the high end tournament scene. I don't feel like anyone is really innovating anymore.
Take these opinions with a grain of salt , the shocker foregrip feels great and so does the 170 . I was out of paintball for 15+ yrs and recently got both of those guns and everything said about their front grips was just over exaggerated. It is an opinion but in my opinion the grips on shocker , 170 , 180, cs3 , lv are all great and feels great .
160r grip's better than 170&180r????
I think so has that banana style Brad keeps talkin bout
I like the 160r because of the AT pipe. I think it gives me a better grip on the gun.
Mask at 00:12 secs?
Dye i5 in Smoke
🎉🎉🎉
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Glad i got the LUXE TM40 instead of the CS3. Price difference and quality. Love the idea of Planet Eclipse but damn, this is a joke. Money well spent on the TM40.
👌👌
❤
The difference between the super high end and the other high end markers is not worth the price difference. The CS series is just an overpriced Geo with a stupid badge. NOTHING really worth the extra $400 price tag. The 160/170/10 line is just a cheaper Geo. The performance difference isn't that much. When I played, the Geo 3.5 and the CS2 were not that different in performance.
Let’s goooo
180r looks SO much better.
these reviews arent reviews at all. cause it has boiled down to what is "smoother" "quieter" "less kick".
Right I agree I wish big and heavier guns were a thing again imo 😂
@@yourpbtv im not trying to be rude when i ask but, why? Ive played with old karnis and now i have an etha 3 and you couldnt pay me to play with that old heavy clunker. I understand the nostalgia and that it looks old and cool. But i never enjoyed how big and heavy they were.
@@dartanprince6260 yea, but those old guns could survive a lot longer than whatever cheap stuff pe pumps out. they mill their guns too much.
Paintballers and talking about "smoothness" and "kick". It's like peanut butter and jelly, only a lot dumber.
@@MuadDiiib pe "cheap" 🤷🤷🤷
Idk i hate the cs3 gimme back my fat grips
its fast , its sleek , its boring and not very customisable
dare you to get it wet or try to fix it 20 years from now
that argument is true of every electronic pb gun
