As someone who has a full-time job and a life going on, I love these low-pressure read-a-thons where I don't feel like I'm letting a team down if I take the time to read a chonky book I've been meaning to get to. I had fun with Battle of the Girls Bands, but I'm not sure I'll be a ready to do another competitive one for a while after that.
Fun fact: I read way less in Feb (competitive read-a-thon month) than in January (relaxed, personal goals readathon month). There were a couple other factors at play, but I love that you're providing a low-stress read-a-thon option
Yes! This exactly. I love doing competitive readathons but I can't do them back to back all the time. I need a good low pressure break!

📚This sounds like a really chill readathon! I'm one of those people who love bingo boards and I really appreciate how your prompts aren't overly specific. They appeal to the mood reader in me. I'll be participating! Literarydiversions inspired me to do a personal 2024 bingo board and one of my prompts is to complete two readathons this year. I did a search for readathons and filtered it to the last month and that's how I found your video.
So glad to have you in! I'm doing a version of Lianne's bingo board this year too! I'm also a mega mood reader and while I love to do the challenging readathons, a more simple one like this is my style.
@@TheHexedLibrary I enjoyed the readathon. I read 12 books in April. 5 books were already on my tbr prior to April. The other 7 got added as I finished each book in the Clecanian series. I got Covid the 2nd week of April and went days without finishing anything. So I'm happy I did so well. My favorite book this readathon was Ruling Sikthand by Victoria Aveline

Yay! Happy to have you! Having an easy one is nice when you can set a goal but not have strict rules.
I'm so glad the "prompts" aren't actual prompts that have to be completed because I've got 2 readathons next month already (assuming Magical Readathon happens like it does every year, the other one is Tomes & Taverns which has a whopping 10 prompts to fulfill). On top of that there's the series read-through I'm doing plus two year long challenges and two book clubs (though Nostalgia Train doesn't do April picks so at least that's one less book) so my tbr is already stuffed full! 📚
Yes! I made it super easy so we can all just chill but have fun together! I don't think I'm going to do any other readathons in April (unless someone peer pressures me at last minute again) but I have plans to read a LOT of books!
