I can understand how you were tricked because you said that this song is played in many black movies. I didn't know that... so there you go, I learned something too.

as a white dude, i am proud that you view the Bee Gees as Honorary men of Soul. Your reaction had me in tears. Its not often white dudes drip, but when they do, they do it well. I made my housemate have an existential crisis a few years back when he found out the Bee Gees were white......i remember him spurting out "my community has lied to me for too long", and i'm pretty sure he said "I don't know whether i'm happy or sad" as well at one stage, so i'm pretty sure this is a normal reaction for a black dude discovering the Bee Gees.

OMG, need to share a story of this in reverse. Right after Micheal Jackson passed away, they were showing all these videos of his days with Jackson 5. She said" I didn't know Micheal Jackson was black?!!", and pardon me for my reaction, but I started laughing so hard I cried, and she laughed also but didn't know why. I know he had a skin condition that I was very aware of and I know it was a very sensitive issue for Micheal. But those of us who grew up aware of him saw the gradual difference, but it him someone who didn't witness those changes, how would they know?!!! All the jokes that people made about him, I wouldn't allow my children or grandchildren to laugh at someone with this issue. But I look at it as ya'll were laughing because you were surprised the Beegees were white?!!!, no offense taken, whatsoever!!!. My heart really ached for Micheal and I really felt his pain when he did "Oprah interview, and she brought up how people actually mentioned they thought he bleached his skin to get rid of his blackness. You could tell it really hurt.

It is enough to know that we humans can create such beautiful music. The colour of their skin is no more relevant, in terms of having such ability, than the type of shoes they wear. Love the Bee Gees. Your reaction was so funny. Everyone who was at least a teen when Saturday Night Fever came out had a copy of this album - didn't matter if you were black, white, brown, yellow or whatever - you owned it and played it to death.

I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️

Love The Bee Gees...brothers Gibb. I’ve listened to them since the 1960’s. Barry hadn’t discovered his falsetto yet, so I never thought about how later they might be mistaken as black. Love how CZcams reactors are bringing us all together through music. Loved your reaction❤️❤️❤️

Don’t feel bad at all BizMan, sooooooo many Black folks think The Bee Gees are black until they actually see them perform in person for the first time and then they are Thunder Struck!!!!!! We white folks get it right once in awhile hombre!!!!! 🥳 Damn you would have loved the Disco era 💃 in the 70’s!!!!! I sure as shit did!!!!!!! Right along with ACDC!!!!!! You gots to have a broad taste in music when so much good shit is being produced all at one time you know!!!!!! There is a time for everything!!!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!!! Biz, (may I call you Biz?😉) Your reaction and honesty was delightful and I don’t know why people gave you a hard time. The first time heard ‘Night Fever’ I was transporting some of my students to a worksite and one of my black girls started singing it with the radio. I thought they were black too!!
Take it from a 74 year old white man who’s love of rhythm and Motown FINALLY found it’s way to my feet so I could dance fast with my wife thanks to the Beegees and disco! Keep on keepin’ on my friend, especially laughing, you are OKAY 👍🏼

Stayin Alive has been covered 69 times, and sampled In 74 songs to date, including by Wycliffe Jean (1997) and N-Trance (1995). Other Bee Gees songs have also been sampled and covered by black artists. (Examples: LOVE YOU INSIDE AND OUT and EMOTION) There’s a Will Smith/Bee Gees mashup that you may be thinking of, but my favourite Stayin Alive mashup is with AC/DC’s Back in Black!!
