Let's remember that Sylphie always saw poligamy relationships as normal because she knew Paul and the family. Also in that world the poligamy is like "normal", the only problem would be if the partner are not okay with it or if they are Milis church (religion) followers. Rudeu's Mom was a follower, that's why she was so mad at Paul and Aisha at the start.
At the last point, you can def get taken advantage of by someone smaller than you... Being a man isn't enough to just brush it all out, but at least you didn't got a traumatic experience like that.

Just a reminder that at the start of a season Rudy was alone, traumatized and borderline suicidal. Look at how far he's come.
Yeah...especially when he choose to go and save the people that he didn't consider his parents at that point instead of just staying home with his wife and kid and also get another wife (one of the Beast girls).
Turning Point 3 was a real Turning Point...when you compare it with the Rudy from the time he choose to go to the school to fix his downstairs.
Small changes...Rudy is still selfish (he wanted a 2nd wife so breaking his promise to Sylphie) but also selfless when he choose to save his "not real" "parents".
That's why I like MT...Making the same mistake multiple times...but changing bit by bit.

He definitely considered the possibility before leaving, but he realized he didn't regret going to Begaritt. He felt grief about Pauls death, but he didn't regret going. But the man god said he WOULD regret going so Rudeus felt like something awful must have happened back home.
I honestly think, the reason why Man-god said that is because he never thought Rudeus would use the teleportation circle, and will find a dead Roxy instead.

I thought this then when I read the web novel and I still think this now with the end of the anime, but Norn's outburst/rant was genius writing on Rifujin's part. Norn addressed what most people would say if they had the same chance in that situation. But it also gave an opening for Sylphy as a character to defuse that argument and redirect it. Morality aside, the author knew how to tell this story without breaking the characters.
Everything Norn said was pretty hurtful to Aisha. I'm glad that Sylphie called her out on it and made her realize that she hust Aisha.

Considering Millis church are racist (
especially toward demons) that comment was very racist its the same as saying "And why a black girl like her"
I've always wondered why I had a problem with this situation and not with the countless other harem relationships I've seen, I think I've figured it out, it has to do with my views on marriage in general, and how I see it as something sacred even within fiction.
Usually within harem anime, the MC normally just gets married to all of them at the same time, but in this Rudy was already married and had a child on the way and he cheated.

@kyng_spade That makes sense. Rudy did cheat. There is no other way to justify that. What I liked about how they approached it is that they didn't justify it. They said it how it was, Rudy cheated on his wife and even Norn pointed it out and both Rudy and Roxy were prepared to take accountability. He's just lucky to have had Sylphy as his first wife who's already exposed to the concept of multiple wives through living with the Greyrats, being exposed to royal marriage politics and also probably heard about her grandmother's multiple partner situation through her father. So if anyone would've allowed it it would've been Sylphy, who even brings up the idea of concubines and multiple wives early on in part 1 of season 2.
easiest way to get over that is by understand that a different cultures views on marriage are gonna be completely different then your own, especially in a whole ass different world where only one set of followers of a specific church carry semi similar views than to our world.
Not saying it wasn't a dick move its just not gonna be viewed the same as it would in our world obviously.
norn is a Millis follower, that's why she was the only one who didn't like or accept this situation at that time. but over time she accepts it, even though she doesn't think it's right. But she will love Roxy too, Just look at the baby's birth scene how they were holding hands
The development of their relationship going forward is heartwarming. Can't wait for season 3.

Maybe I need to read the scene in full to understand the context, but I think that line would be out of place in the anime's adaptation.
Sylphie was calm, soft, but straightforward when she started speaking. That gave the air of her really considered everyone's feeling at that moment, her own, Roxy's, Rudy's and Norn's. To speak aggressively-ish to any one at that moment might give the idea of putting down Norn's feelings when, as part of the family, her opinion should at least be heard.
@@ARIEZKAGE Yeah. One of the things I didn't like in the novel version and I'm glad they changed that. It just seemed a bit sudden or out of character.
I'm kinda glad they skipped that part tbh, it would've been out of place in this scene in the anime. As ARIEZKAGE says above, it comes off as way to aggressive towards Norn, who let's be real - found out that her beloved father had died like less than an hour ago in addition to everything else.
I'm happy they changed that then. Rudeus needed to hear all of that.

Pls remember, this is the Sylphie that is open to telling her friend/boss how happy and willing she is to getting it on with Rudy. To the point of unknowingly humping the furniture. Adding more to the bed isn't out of the realm of possibility. (Half-joking).
But I really like how the scene was handled. Rudy pulling off a Rentarou impression. Norn's anger. Roxy's tears. And Sylphie's understanding. It all feels believable after spending time with these characters and knowing that deepdown, everyone was doing what they thought was best in the moment.

As an LN reader I say they aced this episode. Sylphie looks magnificent as Mylphie, the family portrait at the end is great, and Norn's VA knocked it out of the park.
I'll even let go of the few quibbles I have with it (no Dillo curling up by the fire, a certain implement is missing, and Paul's gravestone has CDXXIII instead of CDXXIV)...
If Norn was removing pork from the household diet or forbidding them from eating cows, it would be obvious that she was forcing her mother's religious views on others. Somehow her view on monogamy gets a pass just because that matches our culture. Frell that. Sylphie didn't just consider Rudy's dirty mind. She called out Norn for assuming Rudeus was a follower of Millis.

18:25 Analogy aside (no matter how fitting it is, considering the harem candidates), I was rereading volume 8 and the scene where she was worrying whether Rudeus would be a womanizer like Luke came up. The scene was adapted as the shopping trip in S2E7. Sylphie had already determined herself to become the mediator, should Rudeus get three or more wives. then she dismissed the whole idea since she saw becoming his wife to be a pipe dream. Barely a year later, she's married to him. Some half-year after that, the scenario is coming true.
Sylphie absolutely radiates the air of a matriarch. In the shot where she welcomes Roxy, she stands the tallest in the room.

Sylphie didn't look for Rudy or his family though despite living with his parents for years. In fact, she's absent in all of Rudy's most challenging trials.
Meanwhile Roxy, who isn't affected by teleportation incident spent 6+ years looking for each of Rudy's family members.

Roxys a fully realized mage and adult, and Eris was trained by Ghislaine and Ruijerd, wtf was sylphie suppose to do? Also, "absent in all of Rudy's most challenging trials" is crazy after seeing her be the sole reason he was able to overcome the mental turmoil Eris put him in literally THIS SEASON.
Oh come on..Norn is by far the best little sister in this story. Even before this episode.

Some of the stuff left out /changed the last few episodes
• they convinced rudy to take roxy in by telling him she was pregnant
• roxy was going to leave rudys room but he told her to stay (he was the one pushing her down)
•they could make it back home with rudy depressed
• when there was 2 heads left rudy decided witch one paul should attack (adds to his regret cuz going for the other one could have ended different)
• sylphy telling norn to "be quiet"(shut up)
Btw seems the changed stuff was by the author (his decision)

Mushoku Tensei is one of the most beautifully written stories but a lot of people dismiss it because the MC is a perve.

What I think the regret Hitogami was talking about has already come to pass but Rudy hasn't realised it. Had Rudy not gone to save Zenith then Paul and the others likely would have eventually found her then called for Rudy to come help while they thought up a plan. However, as Rudy was there Paul was desperate to save her, so if Zenith does die or is dead Rudy wouldn't blame himself, so they rushed in without having a solid plan or resupplying. It would have likely taken Paul and the others a few years to find her but if Rudy grows at the same rate he has then he would have been able to 1-shot the dungeon boss. However, I think Hitogami has made a mistake about Rudy's mindset and maturity as I don't think Rudy would have regretted this decision no matter what. Like he said, what he feels is sadness not regret and I don't think that when he realises he basically sacrifiiced Paui for Roxy he's going to feel regret, just more sadness.

Well to summarize, Sylphy knows the man she married, people are gonna hate what happened but this is much better than Rudy stealing time just to visit Roxy. Hate whatever you want but from the very beginning, Sylphy already mentioned that she's completely fine with Rudeus bringing another wife. If you can't bear it don't watch it.

I want to say that the things Norn said were wrong and mean toward Rudy, Roxy, Aisha and Sylphie she is the only follower of Millis in this house its Sylphie's decision not hers. Its like his catholic sister would scream and judge him because her brother says he is gay or trans, she had no right to say that.
She had no right to say anything before Sylphie sayed her part, also before someone says something how its wrong its not its a fantasy world. Only Millis has one wife rule and the reason Norn is a Millis follower is because her horrible grandparents (they were insulting Aisha saying she shouldnt be alive and werent taking care of her) that were taking care of Norn and Aisha while Paul was looking for Zenith.
