just a little clarification from my understanding: all regulars are chosen by Headon to get into the tower, Irregulars are chosen by the tower itself. Rachel wasn't chosen by either but managed to get in when the tower opened up for Bam

It is like when they had to get permission to use shinsu and the admin said it would be more like a shackle for him. To get in though, everyone else has to be chosen by Headon, but irregulars are open the door themselves. It seems like Bam unintentionally opened the door and Rachel snuck in, then he opened it again to follow her.

so, the anime cut a very important line from this sequence. when the redhead is in rachel's room, she asks rachel "why did you do this?" and rachel responds "i'm afraid of the night". bam in korean and yoru in japanese, his name means "night". multiple times in season 1 of the comic, people say bam is tasty. the reason is that "bam" means both "night" and "chestnut" in korean. so, the entirety of season 1, the author is making you think his name is "chestnut". until that exact moment, when rachel says "i am afraid of the night", when it's revealed that your intial read on his name is correct. his name is "the 25th night".

23:48 You are exactly right here, This entire season 1 had events skipped and changed because this was one of the first works Crunchyroll used to Dip their feet into the Manhwa market. So the pacing can seem kinda off but the good thing is that they actually skipped stuff that could be explained and added later in the upcoming seasons. That was why we got the ending for the first season which rounded everything up perfectly. Compare it to something that was damaged beyond repair like GOH and we realize the adaptation staff were true fans of the Manhwa

some things they cut out that i dont think will be spoilers: -on the crown game where Bam goes smacked with the staff to save rachel, they cut out a part where Bam got a flashback about rachel getting grabbed the hair and getting beating up by someone. - in her conversation with Headon, she was saying that Bam took everything from her -Rachel at some point speaks with the red haired one, the red haired one ask why Rachel goes tto such lenghts to see the stars and rachel answers "cause im afraid of the night" and Baam means night, so she was saying that she was afraid of bam
When this show came out it was around the time the phrase "simp" was popular so people were jokingly calling it "Tower of Simp" lol. This is until we saw the light leave Bam's eyes at the end which is what Khun was worried about.
Honestly, rewatching this episode I disliked Rachel less Especially when she was telling Bam to run in her mind Basically she cared about Bam, especially with all the praise and care he kept giving her But even as much as she cared about him, he’d come in second to her dream So basically she wanted him to leave her so that she wouldn’t choose to kill him That made me accept her more
Even tho the anime skipped a lot of material the animation studio and director did the best they could to keep a coherent and enjoyable story, I hope season 2 doesn´t skip as much material.
Just to clarify, All irregulars come from another world and open the gates and enter the tower. Bam qualified both requirements. Rachel is from another world (like bam) but didn’t open the gates, she (in essence) slipped in and Bam opened the door twice.
Man, I'm actually going to miss Season 1's art style. It was so beautiful. Season 2 has decent animation, but I think Season 1's character design was something special. Really a beautiful anime.

The proctor to me seemed like he was actually against the current establishment and the tower, while actually pretending to be a strict adherent to the rules and an ally to the tower. He faked Bam’s death so he could train him up and unleash a true threat unto the tower.
- Rachel's in trouble. The deal with Headon is that she kills Bam. Bam ain't dead. - Not sure if you guys caught on so I'll put it here. Rachel sent the note to Ho herself. She knew she could use herself as bait to get Bam to fail. Getting stabbed probably wasn't part of her plan though. In the Manwha, the red haired girl seemed like a likely culprit, if a bit obvious, because of her injury and she was acting shifty around Rachel and Bam. -In the last ep Yuri's scout asked what a navigator done so low in the tower when he saw the red haired girl. Navigators are like specialized scouts. Now we know, she was there to help catch Bam. -Serena is a great contrast to Rachel. Serena is also not a good person, a thief and very much a victim of her circumstances. But even she has some redeeming features. Rachel is only a victim to herself. And her desire will swallow up every last once of light around her.

some things they cut out that i dont think will be spoilers:
-on the crown game where Bam goes smacked with the staff to save rachel, they cut out a part where Bam got a flashback about rachel getting grabbed the hair and getting beating up by someone.
- in her conversation with Headon, she was saying that Bam took everything from her
-Rachel at some point speaks with the red haired one, the red haired one ask why Rachel goes tto such lenghts to see the stars and rachel answers "cause im afraid of the night" and Baam means night, so she was saying that she was afraid of bam
When this show came out it was around the time the phrase "simp" was popular so people were jokingly calling it "Tower of Simp" lol. This is until we saw the light leave Bam's eyes at the end which is what Khun was worried about.
Honestly, rewatching this episode I disliked Rachel less
Especially when she was telling Bam to run in her mind
Basically she cared about Bam, especially with all the praise and care he kept giving her
But even as much as she cared about him, he’d come in second to her dream
So basically she wanted him to leave her so that she wouldn’t choose to kill him
That made me accept her more

Just to clarify, All irregulars come from another world and open the gates and enter the tower. Bam qualified both requirements. Rachel is from another world (like bam) but didn’t open the gates, she (in essence) slipped in and Bam opened the door twice.
So one will include her as an Irregular. But a trash irregular.

Man, I'm actually going to miss Season 1's art style. It was so beautiful. Season 2 has decent animation, but I think Season 1's character design was something special. Really a beautiful anime.

Rachel is still an Irregular, even though this is all because of Bam. He opened the gate twice.
The proctor to me seemed like he was actually against the current establishment and the tower, while actually pretending to be a strict adherent to the rules and an ally to the tower. He faked Bam’s death so he could train him up and unleash a true threat unto the tower.
my take away was rachel wanted bam to leave her or do something to hurt her so she doesnt feel bad after killing him

- Rachel's in trouble. The deal with Headon is that she kills Bam. Bam ain't dead.
- Not sure if you guys caught on so I'll put it here. Rachel sent the note to Ho herself. She knew she could use herself as bait to get Bam to fail. Getting stabbed probably wasn't part of her plan though. In the Manwha, the red haired girl seemed like a likely culprit, if a bit obvious, because of her injury and she was acting shifty around Rachel and Bam.
-In the last ep Yuri's scout asked what a navigator done so low in the tower when he saw the red haired girl. Navigators are like specialized scouts. Now we know, she was there to help catch Bam.
-Serena is a great contrast to Rachel. Serena is also not a good person, a thief and very much a victim of her circumstances. But even she has some redeeming features. Rachel is only a victim to herself. And her desire will swallow up every last once of light around her.
But as they said, only someone who knew the test groups beforehand for the position test could have written that note so…Yu Hansung, “the deep sea/submerged fish”…
so glad you guys don't blindly hate rachel. she's made to be hated for sure, but her character is multi-faceted. most people just expect revenge against rachel for the other seasons, but really... that seems so lack lustre in comparison to the story that is actually being told.

Unpopular opinion but i actually like Rachel's character i feel like because most people cant help but identify with the MC sonthey emd up hating Rachel because she's put up against bam, but i could easily see her being the MC of a dark fantasy where the mc is weak and pathetic and ugly and they have to betray,lie and scheme there way to achieving anything
