    Loving the Morocco football shirt! Another great explanation of a great card game. Thank you.

    In Ecuador, there is a similar game called “Cuarenta”

    You can use a pad and pen to tally up the points or you can go full moroccan and use nuts or chickpeas or lentils or whatever small thing you can use to count keep the score 🤷

    Interesting post. Great party or Christmas "Get together" game. This reminds me, please could you post a video regarding Scopone.
    Great content as usual :) Thank you.

      Yes it's a great party game or fun 2 player game over coffee.
      I don't think I'll do Scopone, since it's basically the same as Scopa but with teams. I have thought about doing the other team play Scopa game, Scopone Scientifico. That one has a slightly different game play and more strategy imo.
      Thanks for the nice comment!

    My family has played and passed down the rules of Ronda for many generations, there are some differences from the official rules vs the ones that my family has passed down that I thought I would like to share:
    1: We use the standard 52 card deck.
    2: We do not use points, only cards for scoring. For example, a Ronda of 2 would earn you one card from every other player’s pile. So if there are four players, you get 3 points. If two people have Ronda, they cancel out (unless it’s a face card, more on that later) and everyone else owes both of them one card.
    A-10 Rondas earn you one card from everyone’s pile, J is two cards, Q is three, and K is four cards. A Ronding (Tringa) triples the amount of cards everyone owes you.
    3: When you get a Cao (djerba), that person owes you a card. If there are multiple Cao, the first person pays the second one card, the second pays the third two cards, and the third pays three cards to the fourth.
    4: The clearing of the board “Mesa Limpia” causes everyone to give that player one card.
    5: When you first deal the first four cards on the board, if any cards match then it is a “caca”. The dealer owes everyone a card, and the card is shuffled into the deck and a new one is dealt (sequences are ok, and this does not stack.) Otherwise it is a Mesa Limpia and everyone owes the dealer a card.
    6: If a player picks up cards at the table and missed a card(s) that they could’ve picked up in sequence, as soon as their hand leaves the table everyone can lunge for that card(s) and take it for themselves. So if I take a 7 8 9 and I failed to grab the 10 J, anyone can immediately rush to grab those cards first.
    7: If someone(s) end a round with no cards, they must preform the “baile poom poom”, a short freestyle dance which they must perform while others shout the words.
    8: The game goes until someone wins three rounds. If there is a tie(s), if any players involved in the tie win the next round, they get double points. Otherwise, the player who wins the next round gets one point and the previous round point is lost.
    My ancestors emigrated from Africa through the Canary Island to Puerto Rico, so the rules we play may have been changed over time.

    When we have Ronda or Trenga, we shouldn't show our cards to other players, all we have to do is say Ronda or Trenga, but if someone is caught who doesn't have Ronda or Trenga, I or my team should get 1 point
    and thanks for the video

    Hi again! One question. If one wins a derba, can he also pick up cards that form a sequence along with it?

    • @Play-In-Games
      @Play-In-Games  Před 8 měsíci

      Great question, I believe that a Derba play only applies to the one card which was played. I do see your point though and although it’s never come up in my play it certainly would make sense to be a valid pick up. Are there any Moroccans in the comments who know the consensus answer for this??

    What happens to the Ronda after you show and lose?

    • @Play-In-Games
      @Play-In-Games  Před 10 měsíci

      You don't get the point. There isn't a penalty for bluffing the way I learned. You will however be bathed in a shame that will carry through many future games.
