Astra is an INCREDIBLE space exploration game that uses both Virtual and Mixed Reality modes to create an astonishing sense of immersion! Do these types of games excite you?
Not really because the science is almost certainly out of date. It will have to be significantly updated after the paradigm shift kicks in. Dissapointing, great idea.
I just played it for a half hour. Oh my gosh! This is incredible! I agree, I really felt a bit unstable on my feet because my room really felt like it was moving. Sooo cool!
This **seems** like it could also be used as a fantastic platform for science (astronomy) education. Teaching scientific as byproduct of the dynamics of a game and/or experience is exactly how I want XR to develop.
I agree! I also strikes me as an edicational app, but it is not, it is based on scientific facts but the whole experience is an art form rather than an edu. Still, I could see so many ways this mechanics could be applied for education as well!

If i understood the tutorial ur supposed to swipe to the right on the element and then close fist when its ready 🤔 I tried swiping slowly and fast with no success. (U mention pointing, might try that next time i play it) the very little time i played it though, the experience seems like fun if i get it to work properly

An unobstructed gameplay area is often conducive to keeping one's skin and bones intact. And without one of those VR treadmill things there are only so many ways (few) to accomplish that in a typically square-ish room.
While I appreciate what the developers visually created, this game/experience was flat out boring. Travel to a planet, collect samples over and over again while listening to Scarlett Johansson's clone give a science lecture. Not bad but I wanted much more.
Looks like fun. But sadly I'm still without my own headset . That broke in december. I borrow ques 2 all the time. Saldy no acces to a quest 3. Otherwise I would check it out.

Depends on how you look at it I guess.. it's an interactive cinematic experience. If I go to see the movies I'll spend $10 + 15 more on snacks, and the movie might be crap lol. This is a really cool cinematic experiences about space traveling, interactive and replayable. It's really a piece of artwork to edmire, not a game.
I think that's a reasonable price. Just eat a sandwich instead of buying a 10$ lunch and it's already payed. We shouldn't compare VR app prices to PC or console where the user group is much bigger and prices can be lower. I always pay the full price because If we as VR users make it profitable for companies we will get more good content.
i think it's a mixed reality experience so quest 3 and quest pro for sure, idk if there is for quest 2 and pretty sure no pcvr headset rn supports mixed reality without being standalone
You made that sound so amazing I bought it on side quest It wouldn't let me download on my Quest 3. I created my developer mode on the Quest 2. It's the same account. Do I need to download sidequest on this Quest 3 and will this developer mode from the Quest to work?
It's supported by Quest 2! You'll just need to set up your own walls instead of scanning your surroundings, but it still works really well. Give it a go!
I think it's worth mentioning that the planets are 2d graphics and it's not fully 3d made. The grandma maybe doesn't care but you won't get a red matter feeling unfortunately.

Haha, every VR head's room is the same. A PC with a some monitors attached crammed in a corner, and the rest open space.

When i tried this i was, this is like astral projecting, but with crappy graphics 😅
it was great but way to short for a $10 charge. i,m hoping they build a type of game play based on that mixreality space ship.
Loved this experience!! And it’s only about an hour or so, which I like cuz it’s less of a commitment than other games/experiences.

The problem is that it cost $10 and is a very short experience. If they added more to it for free later, then I might buy it but for now it's a pass.
