You know what's funny? Dev server Leo2A5 was actually realistic. This upper hull plate has 650mm of protection. So in this stadium of game it should be practically impenetrable like in the Dev server. You know what is the problem with LEO2A5 in WT? it was made in the 90's... A decade after anything else...
The devserver 2A5 was unrealistic too, it was vastly more than it has IRL according to swedish tests. The turret was nearly double it's real protection, the hull is somewhat accurate.

@@patton333 because the armor checker takes also angle in consideration. IRL A5 front of the turret has equivalent of 1250mm of RHA, turret sides 900mm and the hull is 650mm. I believe lower frontal plate is also something in 550-600mm range.

Let's take a look at a tank that was really good a little bit too good.
The 4.7 jumbo it's 5.0 now but before it would just dominate that br making it almost unplayable for anyone accept the Americans in arcade it kind of became a who has more Jumbo's and who has enough guns that can kill it from the front.
But it 5.0 where is a lot more shit that doesn't care about its armor even if angled. but it suffers in the fact that the short 75 is not going to be all too reliable at that br.
Though I cannot understand the logic behind having the 76 jumbo at 6.0 rather than 5.7 it was fine before

@scorplion That's the problem they hoped to solve by giving AA radars. We won't be able to tell if it's working yet but I hope it solves the problem in the meta. Plus I feel like the map designers are starting to create maps that help with the meta.

As for your comment about how the tank drives phly, I used to experiment a lot with war thunder's engine and transmission physics. The problem lies in the torque curve for engines that is not in the vehicle files. The engines have very little power at low rpm, this is why many tanks that have less than 4 gears irl have 7 or more in game.

There was a statement made by gaijin after the fact but basically the armor was being registered as solid steel as apposed to air or composite.

Murica barely complained about the abrams, sure it didnt have a good gun compared to the top tier MBT's other nations have, but it got its power through speed and survivability. At least that's how i took advantage of mine when i played it. The only time they *did* complain, is when they asked gaijin for the M1 with the 120 rheinmetall so that they could have a gun which could compete with the others. It was only the gun that they needed. However, germany couldn't stop, especially when they get popped the first time they take out a new tank and they go out like "gaijin what kind of bs is this??" and all that crap they whine about because for them, germany must be superior in every way, which is fucking childish and I've had enough of that 6 years ago. The problem stemmed years ago before tanks even came into the game, the whole Allies vs Axis war was on the forums. The Axis gained a major buff that made them overpowered and that was "balanced and realistic" until it got corrected which sparked the whole "Germany suffers"

I’ve noticed recently that a lot of my war thunder matches have been in a pattern and another person has had the same thing. It goes like this: 1st battle certain victory, next 2-4 battles are certain defeat, the 5th battle is certain victory and repeat. I believe this to be a method for them to try and get you to buy premium or currency. And this also explains why people say a lot of low tier tanks suck, because of the lopsided battle mechanics. Gajien needs to stop this shady practice and let matches be pure skill rather than the game deciding if you win or lose.

Not crying, tho its bullshit. They shouldve keot it realistic at the very least. The Leo 2a5 was built irl to duke it out front on. Leaks from Swedish tests on this very model prooved that the front was in fact impeneterable by the games shells who cant even pen 500mm. The Leopard 2a5 was designed to duke it out frontally and side turret wise. It has a minumum of 550mm KE and a max of almost 1800mm KE, across the entire front. Even the lower glaces shouldve been unpeneterable in the game but nope, entire front of the hull can be lolpenned for no reason. It was perfectly balanced, wanted to kill it? Use HE or flank, easy.

Phly, if what you were saying at 6:45 is about Germany mains, I do hope you understand that only a handful of people asked for the A5. All we want, as Germany mains (tank wise), was a better match maker and consistency. Almost every 5.7 lineup is uptiered to face allied post-war tanks. It kills the momentum of play when one queues into a game going against T-29s where the only penetrable part from the front is the lower glasis or a gunner sight. Furthermore, 6.7 tends to receive an uptier to 7.7 often. Where is the consistency? German guns held a balance of sitting back, sniping, and only dying to aircraft attacks, derp guns, or flanks. That is how it should have always been. Now, German heavy tanks like the Tiger I and Tiger II are incredibly outclassed when it comes to map design. As a Germany player, in order to ensure a decent chance of winning, I have to push incredibly aggressively in order to maintain some sort of control over the pace of the game. The only reason I have to do this is because most axis players become bogged down focusing on the mass rush of players from the caps. The only reason I was even somewhat excited for the A5 was because it would put Germany on the radar; however, it caused me to become incredibly frustrated with the negligence that Gaijin (and most of the community) put on Germany as a nation.
Challenge: Use anything british over 6.0 and try to make profit.

Tyler Garrett how much ammo you bring You need to make sure your ammo is all stored in turret. So reduce it to 16 I think If you do this on occasion if you take a hit from the side to the ammo it may blowout. Hits from the front always instakill you

The armor the leo2a5 had in the dev server is actually the real armor of the leo2a5
The thing is, for the leo, armor is the same up to the 2a7. Top tier would be alot better if they have implemented all the rounds that this tanks were capable to fire, activate those optics, anti missile system and some nice realistic maps. If you draw a line, all top tier tanks are equal. Very little things that one does it better than the other. They could add anti air shell, multipurpose shell, multiple stage shell. There are so many cool things they could add, they should because the game is supposed to be a sim. There are hundreds of ww2 tanks that are not in game. Easy to find, full spec cards, just waiting to be modelled.

Your secondary guns are all blazing, all belts are on way and with it you must get 5 kills with no death and return to your home. Other problem, you must do it before secondary guns ran out of ammo (before all the stock is gone). Do it for your brother, do with style!
Edit: no top tier tanks allowed, M1s have tons of ammo and with them this is too simple.

Yes it's pain now since you can be penned by everything and when uptiered can't pen nothing. But it was the second most german biased tier sometime ago. Now we only got 3.3
idk, on 6.7 i prefer Tiger-2 (P) due it's turret, wich can deflect anything (if you're lucky enough).
(H) version sucks...Overbuffed american T-34, M36 and T-32 are the main problems. Soviet T-44 is ok and IS-2 never been super op as hell.
Also, PAK-43's AP shell should have more penetration (300 maybe) so we can pen T-32's turret.
Sometimes 6.7 is hell, and other times, oh god other times (laughs in 23 kills no deaths)
Yeah i'm actually liking the way top tier is going these days. Everyone can pen each others front plates at 1000m with no worries. Every tanks a hull down sniper these days, its almost as if the Brits were on to something all along lol.
