    I'd buy that over a Raptor any day, just because I know it'll last 300,000 miles with no major repairs.

      crazy wheel there are plenty trucks better than the raptor in many different situations. But I guess better means factory flared wells and a "pre runner like suspension"...
      You grab a 4D Wrangler and put some 34" tires on it and the little raptor is ganna run for the hills.

    • @Mohammadkwt
      @Mohammadkwt Před 9 lety +1

      NoOneImportant556 that's a jeep not a truck & maybe you need an upgraded truck to beat a factory stock raptor .

    I don't agree with modernizing the key fob on a tundra. Then when it breaks your out 300 dollars plus the cost to program it ask luxury car owners. Toyota tries to stay conservative and modern without putting their owners in costly jams. It's how different ATV brands are stereotyped, Polaris is for power, Yamaha is for Torque, Honda is for reliability. etc. My point is Toyota does this for a reason because their customers want a lower cost of ownership.

    I went to Toyota to try & test drive & purchase the Tacoma TRD PRO, they told me you have to BUY the truck first before you can test drive it, plus there is zero negotiating the price since they are only special order trucks... Looks like I'll be keeping my Sport Trac.

    • @Mohammadkwt

      gip1279 many people bought the raptor & they didn't complain about it reliability specially that guys who put it throw off-road everyday .

    • @guyproulx1660
      @guyproulx1660 Před 9 lety +1

      gip1279 the tundra won the baja 1000 in the stock full class raping the raptor badly, the tundra drove an extra 1000 miles back to Torrence Ca after the race, the raptor broke down and so did the hummer, tundra beat the raptor at it's own game lol, a truck that was specifically designed and engineered for this kind of racing, the tundra was never threatened by the raptor, it left the raptor in it's dust

    • @TFLtruck
      @TFLtruck  Před 9 lety +6

      2005jgkay Nothing is wrong with the key if this was 2001 but with cars and now trucks going to push button start having a key and a separate key fob to unlock the truck seems very dated today.

    • @2005jgkay
      @2005jgkay Před 9 lety +18

      The Fast Lane Truck It cost me $1100 to replace my push button on my Lexus.... So i wish i had a key. I cant believe were at the point you cant put a key in a turn it last 50 years it was fine not now. Its just more electric BS to go wrong and fix get over it.

    • @bwilliamstown
      @bwilliamstown Před 9 lety +1

      2005jgkay I also prefer the traditional key to a push button start, however I have to agree with TFL that the separate fob at least is dated, an integrated key fob fits so much better in your pocket

    • @soloryderrr
      @soloryderrr Před 9 lety +1

      2005jgkay This is a great reason to have a key. They are far more reliable then a push button

    • @justinf79
      @justinf79 Před 9 lety

      2005jgkay I just hate having to dig through my pocket for the keys all the time that often has other stuff in it that I have to sort through. I just want to hop in and go. Also don't like it when the set of keys keeps banging back and forth on the dash making noise. You make a valid point though about the cost of the push-button start if it breaks.

    You guys need to really drive these trucks! Check our Fred Williams's TRD PRO test on Dirt Every Day on the Motortrend channel to see one REALLY in action. He jumps it in the dunes, does donuts, rips through fire roads, and climbs Hells Revenge in Moab with it.
    After seeing THAT test I have respect for the TRD Pro. Though I still don't get why they didn't spec a more agressive tire like the Raptor or Rebel has.

    Hey The Fast Lane Truck , do you really wanna mash it up? Do a 1/2 ton offroad shootout with Roman, Nathan, Andre, Mr. Truck and anyone else you need to drive the different trucks, in rotation, offroad and see which is the best. Exclude the Raptor because we already know it's a bad ass. Ya'll should find an offroad park close by and take them there. FX4, Z71, Pro 4x, TRD Pro and Rebel.

      Except for the fact it has to be chipped for the anti theft, immobilizer, and alarm system. A lot more than a $1.98 blank at Walmart or lowes.

Plus the fact that Tundra uses more American parts and labor per a Truck I think its at least just as American as Ram. Also I ain't a big fan of the fact tat they seemed to have dropped the Dodge name. Guess I like a bit of tradition sometimes.

    I am disappointed in Toyota for just making the new Tundra a glorified makeover of the 2007+ Trucks. I have a 2008 and I want to up grade, get the latest and greatest, but wouldn't even consider Tundra. No new motors, no new other technologies. Just the same old same old.

  • @headcas620
    @headcas620 Před 9 lety +5

    The Tundra is crappy. It doesn't know what it wants to be. It's a not a good truck for work because it lacks an integrated brake controller. It's not fancy enough to compete with the high country, laramie longhorn and platinum f150. Not to mention the tundra gets terrible mpg with it's old V8. It's just mediocre in every way.

    • @nodakoutdooraddicts53
      @nodakoutdooraddicts53 Před 9 lety +2

      Couldnt agrew with you more, Toyotas excuse for a truck is always 5 years behind in options, there is a reason why you only see tundras in the city because guys with no dick want a truck and think they are all badass with a tundra when it wouldnt last a day in a farmtown.
      But when you drive through a little farmtown all you see is Ram and Ford (at least where I live)

    • @OldsMannn
