Dear Friend 😢 so sorry for your problems with your Ford. Before you turn your truck in I have some friendly suggestions . 1. Have your computer reflashed . It sets your computer back to factory settings ( I believe). 2. Take it to a independent auto mechanic and ask them to reset the computer. 3. For the transmission that is shifting wonky have a transmission shop reflash the memory in the transmission. It will reset the memory of your driving style. 4. Do you have a manual mode on your truck. Put it in manual mode with your gear shifter and start off slow hitting the plus switch on your gear selector for each gear as you accelerate until you get up to 10 th gear. Then deaccelerate downshifting as you would in a standard shift truck. You are basically retraining the shifting points in the memory of your transmission. I’ve done this with my 2018 F150 2.7 ecoboost. It runs great now. I am not a mechanic but a fellow truck lover. Ask some of your friends who have their fords if they have done these suggestions. 5. Buy a auto scanner that can do these reflashes yourself. My tranny was balking between 3rd Skipping 4th and dragging into 5 th. Good luck and God bless. Tom. 09/04/23

I have been through a similar experience with mine. I have a 2018 F150 lariat V8 and I have so many issues it’s insane. Oil consumption issue so they replaced the engine and it’s still going through 1.5 quarts in 3k miles which Ford Engineering says is normal. The deceleration rattle issue that Ford Engineering says is normal which we all know it’s not. AC Leaks, transmission rattles, radio freezing. It’s been at the dealer 15 times is 1.5yrs. It’s a joke and Ford is declining a buy back. Lemon law is really not on the consumers side at all. Now I understand why a lot of people don’t buy American cars. I’ve had to previous Ford explorers and this truck is by far the worst. I bought it specifically since I thought it would be reliable. The dealer just hides from the problems and won’t offer anything to get me into something else unless I loose out financially.

I know that feeling when a dealership refuses to work with you towards a resolution.
In my experience Autonation Ford has been a nightmare to work with, so frustrating that I found it easier to sell off the truck I'd invested so much money into rather than to continue to be fustrated with repeated bad customer service.
I had just about lost hope in Ford as a whole until one day
" To God be the Glory" I ran ito a dealership called Parkcity.
What a difference it has been a night to day comparison and I'm so sorry to say Fords are beautiful trucks but the truth to the matter is they come with many technicalities and with that in mind a honest, caring reputable dealership is a must.
In conclusion I learned it doesn't matter how much bumper to bumper or expended warranty you may have but what really matters is the character of the person who sits behind the service desk and their integrity and willingness to help customers.
No one should have to go to the extreme to find a simple solution especially when dealing with giant corporations like Ford. Good luck my friend.

    • @superchaser3867

Thank's brother! I agree. They obviously knew something was wrong with it but kept trying to point the finger at me as if I modified the truck which wout void warranty and they told me this even though the truck was completely stock I was upset. Long story short, I've learned to lease a vehicle if I am looking to purchase that vehicle in a long run and if at the end of that lease that vehicle proves itself worthy to purchase I will make that executive decision but I will never sign into a buyer's agreement ever again because the lemon laws did not protect the buyer from situations like this on a monetary level they only allowed the buyer to unbind from a purchase agreement given enough evidence deemed the vehicle a lemon it was the most miserable thing I've ever had to go through. I'm a Ford enthusiast and fan I've restored my generation one bronco, I even own an OJ Bronco and to be such a Ford fan and treated like crap and continuously LED to believe that it was something I was doing with the vehicle really pissed me off they knew there was something wrong and just did not want to be held accountable for it and they definitely did not willingly want to unbind me from the purchase agreement or give me a new vehicle they just wanted to see how far they could push me till I gave up and I'm not that type of person to give up. Is that in park city Utah?

You can hear the pistons slapping around as the engine idles and it causes major wear issues with the pistons and cylinder bores. They also have a lot of major oil consumption issues. Major oil consumption. Some guys reported that a software update helped, but not for everybody. The engine has also had a ton of complaints over rattling cam phasers on cold start or when shifting gears at low speed. I bought a brand new 2018 F150, with the 3.5 eco-boost motor/10 speed transmission. The truck was the biggest piece of crap I ever owned. My cam phasers went out three times. Went through three alternators, VCT sensor issues. Then Ford said that all the studs on one side of the exhaust manifold were broken off somehow. Which is strange, because they were the only ones ever in the motor.

    Hey - Any update?
My truck has the same or similar problem. Its a 2016 XLT 3.5 Ecoboost. Its been in and out of the shop many times. My demands for Ford to buy back the truck were shut down. Back in the summer 2018, the dealership had it for 2 months. They ended up replacing the IPC cluster and gateway modules, and it appeared to have fixed the problem. Fast forward 1.5 years later and the issue has resurfaced (right when I got out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty). So now I'm on the hook for the costs even though it's the same issue I've had since I bought it. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with Ford.

This law doesn't necessarily protect the consumer at all there's a sports to buy a back and you're paying them to my back I have videos and documents covering this I'll have to upload later the Lemon Law doesn't protect the buyer at all and no way does it protect the buyer from a lemon vehicle

I’ve got the Ranger 2.3 w/ 10speed. Doing some research on the development end of the 10speed; I’ve come to the conclusion the ecoboost motors don’t have enough low-end torque for the transmission. It’s actually the same trans with different controller as the ZL1 Camaro. Thats why it performs so much better under load. It actually helps quite a bit to buy one of the tuners and run 93 gas.
Looks like you were suffering ECU issues maybe a faulty board.
People’s trucks drinking oil are likely turbo seals related. I would inspect the intercooler pipes and inlets for oil residue.
All that to say: people have a different expectation buying domestic; the ecoboost platform can be good and I love mine, but it’s not the Ford of old for sure.

That's annoying... I'm literally thinking about getting a Raptor, because I'm over my RAM with the Hemi and ZF 8 speed. It's a good transmission but Chrysler's programming is horrible, it's often jerky and it slams into every gear when coming to a stop. The Hemi itself is a fun engine, but all of the changes they've made to made it more efficient (lighter materials on the exhaust manifold, shutting off cylinders under light load, ...) makes it a ticking bomb. I've seen camshafts with metal completely sheared off from stuck lifters, I already had to replace the exhaust bolts on one bank and I've only had it for 50k km...
But this made me very insecure about the Fords as well... And I really don't like GM's interior.
