      I would also ALWAYS put in an aftermarket performance radiator (i.e. a Mishimoto), an extra oil cooling and transmission fluid cooling system AND a larger more rugged oil filter AND a replace the current hood with a carbon fibre forced ram-air hood which has the big air scoops which will suck in cool air and force the hot air out from the engine bay much faster than normal (it also makes the truck more muscular and rugged-looking!)
      Then I always put in 5W40 all-Synthetic engine oil and run -40F Winter-rated coolant fluid and change them BOTH OUT after 3000 miles (5000 km) or 3 months (whichever comes first!). Every 40,000 miles (60,000 km) you then do a full engine flush to get rid any build-up of carbon deposits and oil sludge.
      Doing that type of maintenance religiously lets you enjoy your truck for 10 years and more with no issues! I know people who have gotten 750,000 miles+ on their F150 and Superduty trucks simply by doing proper fluid changes/maintenance/tune-up on an every 3000 miles or every 3 month schedule!

    For the mercedes c230 I have the c230k . It had the same problem. It was due to a faulty combination switch on the steering column. Was about an hours worth of work and not hard to swap . You will need a long necked t27 to go through the back side of the steering wheel to lose the air bag . Remove airbag and he bolt holding the steering wheel on . Be sure to use the right size . I don't recall it off my head after that you will need a Phillips screw driver . You will remove the clock spring housing. Be sure to note it's position and handle delicately or it will separate and the spring inside will become unsprung... good luck getting it back together if that happens. Once you remove the clock spring housing you will gain access to the combination switch and be able to remove it from the bracket it's mounted too with the cruise control lever. Replace with a new combination switch I think mine was around 100 bucks . Be sure to note weather you have regular wipers or the rain sensing kind as they are not the same switch. Assemble in reverse order and remember the clock spring housing has to go on exactly as it came off . There are marks indicating where the arrows should line up. Just a tip have a friend help you when removing the hex bolt holding the steering wheel on . It really helps to have someone to hold the wheel as the her bolt is usually very tight . You will also likely want a cheater pipe to give you good leverage. No steering wheel puller is needed.

    F150s are so roomy and comfortable inside. The cabin space is tough to beat. There’s plenty of leg room in the 2nd row for passengers to kick back and relax, without feeling overcrowded if you happen to throw a few bags back there. Seating in the Tundra feels tight and cramped, not to mention there’s even a loss of potential storage space under the seats. The only thing I like about the Tundra is the entire rear window goes down, which is extremely useful, whereas with the F150 the part that slides open is only big enough to fit maybe your head.

    2021 is the first year Ford is introducing cylinder deactivation on the 5.0 V8. Hope it doesn’t ruin such a good engine.

      Guaranteed there will be someone to come out with an override to that system very soon, if there isn't one already. There's an easy override on GM's displacement on demand V8s now.

      VWs here in the UK have it and it works pretty flawlessly. The cylinders cut right back in when you floor it. Saves about 10% on fuel.

      Cylinder deactivation is garbage... it creates nothing but trouble for engines...also auto start-stop is junk as well.. just makes things harder for the engine and electrical system.. wears things out quicker both of these so-called technologies are crap imo.

    Hi Scotty, In one of your earlier videos you recommended to stay away from Ford's 10 speed transmission. I do believe that your new King Ranch has a 10 speed tranny. What changed your opinion? By the way, love your videos! keep up the great work.

    What about the oil consumption problems the v8s are having? 2018 to now , unless they’ve fixed that issue?

    • @mustbefast9923
      @mustbefast9923 Před 2 lety

      Some 2018 models had that issue due to oval shaped cylinders. All mass production motors can have issues during assembly, just look a GM’s push rod bending issues on 5.3 and 6.2 engines.

    as someone that has driven ford vans and cars for most of my life, my last vehicle was an Aerostar with the 4litre v6 and it actually surprised me with
    the performance that it had considering it was 4500 lbs the same as my other full size ford vans. i have heard that the new aluminum frames do not stand
    up like the older steel frames so when i get to where i will be buying another vehicle again, i will be looking for vans from the 80 as i am very familiar with them
    and i used to do most of the work on them by myself, i have done things that service mechanics said couldnt be done but as a back yard mechanic, we dont know
    what it means cant be done, it just means improvise and lets do it.

    • @CannonFodder873
      @CannonFodder873 Před 2 lety

      Actual frames are still steel...no one uses aluminum for a SOLID frame. Unibody, maybe....but that's NOT a frame.🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @edwardmylnychuk5774
      @edwardmylnychuk5774 Před 2 lety

      from some of the vids i have seen, there are aluminum frames being used in some truck to save weight along with other cheap parts so that
      the older trucks are much better built than many of the new ones.
