James Mangold's 2017 film Logan brought us closure for one of the most important characters in the20th Century Fox X-Men film franchise . But one big mystery from that film that is often overlooked is who exactly wrote the in-universe X-Men comics in that movie that glamorize some of the exploits of the X-Men over the years, but more importantly, lead mutants to a safe haven known as Eden. After recently rewatching Logan for our X-Men rewatch series, Erik Voss takes a closer look at all the clues to try and determine who this mysterious comic book author is, and whether or not these comics will be addressed in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film this summer.

My favorite headcanon is that the other X-Men movies are fictionalized versions of real events within Logan’s history, some of which may have been recorded in Laura’s comics.

This has always been my impression as well.. that him saying "maybe a quarter of it actually happened, and not like this" would be what Logan would also have said about the other movies as well. So maybe the movies exist in universe, or maybe just the comics, but both are fictionalization of actual real events that did get a couple things right.. hence the katana, dog tag, and statue of liberty reference.
The easy thing would just be turning “Shhh-Pool” from Wolverine Origins into “Head-Pool” from Earth-2149 …the fact his head decayed over time would give him the zombified look too lol.

Maybe Colossus drew the comics, but Deadpool tells or drafted the idea for the story.

Wades reasoning for helping the mutant kids is justified by his girlfriend saying your hearts not on the right place and he needs to save the kid.
The tva could say, “you can’t save your girlfriend by meddling with the timeline” so wade just decides to help as many kids as he can, since he can’t have his own

Logan says "self promoting" so it should be someone who's in those comics. Assuming he actually knows who it specifically was. We seem hung up on it being Wade but have we looked at everything xman in the books themselves.
I thought it was Cyclops. Seems implied by what Logan says about the comics.

I really like the idea of Logan being canon to the post DOFP timeline. It shows that no matter what they do, the future is dark for mutants
you know, this does bring up an interesting point. i assume not every student is cut out (nor even wants) to become an x-man. so what happens to them
Pay attention to the main profile page guys, what you see here isn't what it seems.
xavier school is meant to teach mutants how to safely handle their powers so if they don’t become hero’s they probably just live a normal life with the ability to control their mutation.
If Deadpool is responsible for the infamous Continuity screws and makes the 7th Infinity Stone, that's beyond genius.
Also the falling leaves on the “Death of a Mutant” cover are maple leaves.🍁
What if the tva come after Deadpool because he killed the other Deadpool so the comic’s weren’t made and none of the mutants could get to Canada 🤷♂️

I love every Deadpool movie and every time a Deadpool movie comes out it's like the event of the year to me.
I think the MCU's version of the beyonder could be introduced here, he's the one who created the fox verse then just like the celestials he created the MCU as a 2.0 and his "projects" are now caving in on itself. Which where we get secret wars. Only one version of certain ppl will stay , and alot will be gone "forever"

I assumed the comics were made prior to the professor X incident and mutant genocide. Like they were made when the x men were still seen as a positive, and the authors just knew that mutant genocide was inevitable.
It was definitely before 2029.

The way I always understood the Eden location was that they were inspired to create a real sanctuary by the comic
Obviously when they made Logan these were all meant to just be vague ideas. But now that Deadpool and the multiverse and all that stuff is a thing, I HOPE these theories are true.

Everytime I hear those lines in the radio, I can't help but imagine what went on that day. I imagine that the main team perished saving the school, Colosus and Jubilee survived and live in the safehaven. I would think that if any of the others from the main team survived, that Logan would not have been the only one left taking care of Charles, even if he was the only one of them that could withstand the attacks.
As a collector, I would love to get my hand on these comic props.
I said the exact same thing because a lot of the variants are friends with alot of the same people in different universes

The way i look at it, The Logan timeline is a result of Deadpool X Wolverine.
I guess the Logan movie timeline is entirely different from the other X-Men movies as those references you've mentioned is probably common for multiple universes where Logan has to go with those things in his life at multiple stages. Cage fighting etc could be just his thing in all of his variants.
Wolverine always used to talk about and felt that way about cyclops! Especially when it came to concerns about Jean Grey or should I say the Phoenix! He has been known to talk all kind of trash about cyclops. To the point where I kind of felt bad for Scott because he was all in there with Jean Grey until Logan showed up! Which I appreciated them putting in because even good girls go for a bad guys!😂😂😂

Perfect.
I assumed he was referring to the fantady version of him that was in the comics promoting the X-Men, given he never wore it in his timeline.
Not that it was another person, just that "that" version of him that the kids were looking for him to be couldn't save the world.
If you look at the digital pages where Colossus is pushing Xavier in his chair, It says it was "Tradeyright 1985" in the publishing notes at the bottom of the page. Idk if this has anything to do with the plot or just a choice by the guys who worked on the comic.
If It isn’t Deadpool, my top 3 candidates are
1) Steve Rogers - not the humble Cap we watched but the Cap who went back in time in Endgame who lived his life, maybe he was a comic writer and he also loved to draw back in Captain America 1.
2) Reed Richards - the fantastic 4 could have been “hiding” from the MCU in Canada. And the women’s voice was Sue Storm
3) Loki - God of Stories some how the recon it to be him post Loki season 2

just a thought here...what if Deadpool isn't in The Void in DP III? What if this is a peek into Battle World and this is where he "recruits" the version of Wolverine he needs to help him on his mission. I know it's a long shot but that would be kinda cool.

I mean, the Avengers tower is up for sale at this point right? Deadpool did actually restore the Avengers, financially, within comic canon. He basically turned himself and all the other comic heroes into a marketing campaign that worked REALLY well. I think Wade is going to end up owning the Avengers tower by the post-credits of DP3.

What if Mr. Sinister did something similar in the mcu but a lot earlier in the timeline and that's why mutants aren't really around.
Before I watch the video, what if the fight we see in the Trailer with Deadpool fighting TVA agents in the snow isn't our Deadpool but the Deadpool of the Logan universe who went to the site to try to bring him back to life which then made that Deadpool need to be dealt with by the TVA.

But isn’t our universe the same as the Logan universe, they have the same deadpools because they are the same universe. Deadpool takes place in 2016 in the same universe in which 2023 has dofp ending and 2029 logan

I feel like he doesn't know and it could be a group of people. He took Charles and left, leaving the X-Men disbanded. He was not there for that aftermath and didn't keep in touch
Logan movie should have addressed who was the saviour mutant and who all died or survived
@NewRockstars : I think that only reason why Wolverine could not heal from Adamantium poisoning is because somehow Xavier's psychic attack took a toll on his healing ability and swiped off a large amount of his life span & life force.
Also remember that Colossus is also very resistant to psychic attacks.
I think that Wolverine was there when Deadpool drew the comics. I’m thinking that the wolverine we will meet in DP3 is logan before his last movie.
Deadpool created a branch where his friends live. Wolverine created a branch when he went back in time. Daniel Radcliff could be the wolverine variant with diamond claws and eyepatch.

I understand because of "rights" but it still blows my mind how if humans are gung-ho about wiping out mutants why there would not be some of their existence in other marvel movies or why competing companies wouldn't stop that from happening
